Agent K-dawg, this is Urban Decay Base Camp. Over.
UD Base Camp, this is K-dawg, go ahead. Over.
K-dawg, UD Base Camp. Requesting mission status. How’s the testing of the Holiday 2012 Dangerous Palette ($36) going? Over.

Roger that, UD Base Camp. The mission to complete a bronze and gray smokey eye with Deeper, Mushroom and Ace is almost complete, although these eyeshadow pigments are reaching dangerous levels. Over.

The eye palette pops out of the zippered case, so you can reuse it to hold makeup/cat treats/secret spy gear/whatevs!
K-dawg, UD Base Camp. Tech support is wondering what that tap-tap-tapping sound is on your end. Is it static, or is Jeremy Renner trying to send you love letters via Morse code again? Over.
Base Camp, this is K-dawg. Nah, that’s just me tapping my brushes against the edge of the sink to remove some excess eyeshadow before applying. Can’t have fallout beneath my eyes while I’m in the field. Over.
Copy that, K-dawg. Special Agent T-money requests a tutorial for the look. Can you oblige? Over.
UD Base Camp, K-dawg. Can do. Over.
A Bronze and Gray Smokey Eye with the Urban Decay Dangerous Palette
STEP 1: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Sin applied as a base over the entire eyelid

STEP 2: Eyeshadow in Deeper applied on the lids, in the crease and along the lower lash line with a fluffy domed blending brush

STEP 3: Eyeshadow in Ace applied to the lash line, barely into the crease and on the lower half of the lash line with a flat eyeshadow brush

STEP 4: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion (from the new holiday 2012 Ocho Loco 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set) applied on the upper lash lines with an angled eye brush, and directly along the water lines with the pencil itself

STEP 5: Eyeshadow in Mushroom applied in the inner corners with a flat eyeshadow brush

STEP 6: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Mushroom (also from the Ocho Loco set) applied on the lower water line

STEP 7: Brows and mascara

Mission complete!

K-dawg, this is UD Base Camp. How long would you say this look takes from start to finish? Over.
Base Camp, K-dawg. About 15-20 minutes if you’re comfortable with blending; 30-45 if you’re not. Over.
Roger that, K-dawg. One last thing. Another request from Special Agent T-money. Gravy levels are low at the nest. Requesting Petco stop to resupply. Over.
UD Base Camp, this is K-dawg. Sigh… Copy that. Over. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood secret beauty agent,
Karen

Sexy look! It looks like you’re liking the MUFE Aqua Brow, I’ll have to check it out in the blonder colors…
Hi Chelsea,
It’s super easy and lasts a REALLY long time. Plus I barely need to use any of it… I think my pan of MAC Concrete is jealous, hahaha.
What do you use? Are you an Omega kinda girl?
I’d been using a Femme Couture eyebrow pencil from Sally Beauty, which is okay. But I just went out and bought the Aqua Brow in 15 (blonde) after testing it at Sephora, it is wonderful! So excited to keep using it, I hate having my brows melt off when it’s really humid.
Well done Agent K-dawg! Love this write up. Cracked me up!
You look gorgeous as always…I’m especially drawn to the set of liners…
Thank ya, Lily! Have a good weekend, over. 😉
Karen. Your hair. It looks amazing!
I really like this look. I think I’ll try it with my stash. Not really feeling this palette, unfortunately.
I love it, Agent K-dawg! Good job!
And by the way, your hair looks very cool.
Thanks Diana! 😀 Over and out!
HAIR!!!! 😀 Wow that looks awesome! Love the concept of “hair shadow”!
It’s fun but the application part can be a little messy! By the time I was done I had purple all over my bathroom sink…
KAREN. Your hair looks amazing! You’ve inspired me to get mine cut. 😛 I gotta do something about my bangs.
I tried this look after reading it earlier and I really liked it! I’m going to pass on this palette, though. It probably says something about me that I have all but Gravity in this palette…
Hi Jen,
Yay! I’m so glad you tried it. 🙂 What colors did you use?
You sultry sultry thing!!! I have most shades you used in the tutorial so I’m gonna try that one of these days! And the purple highlight!!! NOW I WANT SOME! xx
Great, let me know how your look turns out, Sunny!
Forget about the eye make-up (although it does look great). How amazing does your hair look?! I love it 🙂
Thanks, hon!
Your hair does look awesome.
have you heard anything about the new UD Vice Palette?
Not yet! Sounds enticing though. 🙂
What are you up to this weekend? My parents are back from the Philippines so I’m going to see them this afternoon.
Gorgeous! Are the eyeshadows the same size as a normal UD shadow?
Hi Jen,
They’re .03 ounces/pan — a little smaller than the .05-ounce singles.
Such a beautiful look! And your hair….WERK IT.
Thanks Crystal!
Ooooh, I love the hair, it adds to the look! So happy you did a look with the Dangerous palette, it’s my favourite out of the three!
Hi Teri,
It’s a fun palette. 🙂 Do you think you might get it?
Errrhhhhmyyygawdddd your hair!!!! That color is so excellent on you! I think you should dye it that color!
Maybe someday, who knows? 🙂
Have you ever had purple hair?
Oh, I haven’t been here for quite a while. Karen, your hair looks amazing! I love it!
Aww thank you, Stephanie!
Agreed! YOUR HAIR! So gorgeous! What did you use? Where can I get it!?
I’m wearing Condition Culture Colorsmash Hair Shadow in Rags to Riches. 🙂
I LOVE IT!! You’re hair looks awesome!!!
OMIGOD PURPLE HAIR! YES YES YES! Purple (for fall) and pink (for spring) hair are my favorite looks E V E R!
Thanks, lady! 😀
Very nice. On an unrelated note, thanks for the brush recommendation you gave me a while ago. I bought the MAC 182 like you said. It is great for applying powder foundation. 🙂
So glad you like it! Have you tried it with liquid foundation? It works pretty well with it too.
Hi Karen,
I haven’t tried it with liquid foundation yet. I just got the brush the other day. I usually use my Sephora Airbrush foundation brush for liquid foundation or the beauty blender. But I will try it next time I wear liquid foundation (which isn’t that often because it’s hard to find one I really like).
love the purple highlights on your hair, where did u get the color? brand etc 🙂
It’s Condition Culture Colorsmash Hair Shadow in Rags to Riches. 🙂
thank youuuu very much 🙂
This purple looks AMAZING on you! I love it!
I love the purple hair! It looks so great!
Love this with the purple hair! Although I’m a fiend for colored smokey eyes and instead of Ace, I would have used Evidence or Loaded along the lashline. Mm hmm.
I love the colours in the palette but not together. And the packaging is quite ugly.
Love the hair…however, can you give me the purple? Ha ha ha ha ha. It is my color. I actually need to get mine repurplized. My highlights are basically all gone…
Wow!! Love your hair!!
Thanks for the great tutorial. Your hair and makup look amazing!
I’m digging your hair!! Soo pretty! I just bought some pastels at Michael’s and I’m going to try the chalking thing. My hair is so dark, not sure how well it will turn out.
I’m sorry, I’m back. I just keep staring at your hair!!! It’s gorgeous, that purple just works so well with your coloring. I think you should seriously consider dying your hair, exactly as you highlighted it. I think I have to go chalk my hair right now! You’ve inspired me 🙂
I love your hair! It’s so beautiful 🙂
LOVE the color in your hair… you’re giving me mysterious vixen 🙂
OMG Karen! YOUR HAIR!!!!!! AMAZINGGGGGGG
I’m just getting back so I’m probably late with this, but I LOVE the purple streaks in your hair. I mean, your makeup looks fab, too, but I’m loving the hair! 🙂
I love how your eyeshadow and hair go great together!! Urban Decay products are great!
Thanks for the great tutorial.
XOXO
Cool! I have both Deeper and Ace from the Anniversary collection and will be trying this look. Thanks!
