The MAC Pro Longwear products are still relatively new, but I feel like I’ve loved them forever. I mean, finding MAC Pro Longwear Concealer was almost a life-changing experience. Remember Styledriven from last fall? — with the Pro Longwear products for lips and eyes? Office Hours feels like an extension of that collection to me.
It’s office makeup, MAC-style. Okay, sure, the overall look has “super-wearable” stamped all over it, but MAC included just enough color to hint at the rebel that resides behind most button-down shirts, pinstriped suits and sensible shoes.
The color palette includes shades of nude, pink, peach, beige, red and rose for lips; ivory, rose, brown, camel, red, mauve, gray and blue for eyes; and coral, beige, pink, rose, brown and plum for cheeks.

A few first impressions of the products…
- Pro Longwear Eyeshadows in Linger Softly and Bloom On: I
how soft these feel and the finely milled powders, but I was expecting Linger Softly, which MAC describes as a lightly frosted grey-blue, to have more pigment and a shimmery finish… I think it looks more like a sheer satin on my skin, and Boom On is also very sheer. - Pro Longwear Blushes in Eternal Sun and Baby Don’t Go: Like the eyeshadows, both products feel buttery soft to the touch and have very fine grains. I have to use a couple of layers for these particular colors to show up on my NC42 skin.
- Pro Longwear Lipglasses in Boundlessly Beige and Next Fad: Both of these are very, VERY sticky and thick. I wouldn’t call them among the most comfortable products I’ve ever worn, and my hair constantly gets caught in my lips… Sure do love the shine, though.

Hachiko: A Dog’s Story
I couldn’t find anything to watch on TV last night, so I browsed around on Netflix for a bit and came across a movie called Hachiko: A Dog’s Story, starring Richard Gere and Joan Allen.
Dude! If I’d known what I was getting into…
The movie’s about a professor who adopts a stray Akita puppy named Hachi.
Okay, I thought it was gonna be a happy-go-lucky story about a man and his dog, but 15 minutes in I started getting the sense that I was in for a surprise.
I won’t give away too much in case you decide to watch it, but by end of the film, both El Hub and I were bawling! And I’ve actually cried a few more times since then just thinking about the movie.
HIGHLY recommended, especially for animal lovers. Just keep a box of tissues close…

I watched a bit of Hachiko. My mother INSISTED, and naturally I cried my eyes out. It’s jut toooooo sad 🙁
I havent purchased anything from this collection, and the other one that launched. Im going t try and stop by the store on Thurs to swatch and see what I want. I def want to see the taupe eyeshadow called Fashion Fix, I think.
That movie is so heartbreaking.
I’ve been to the Hachiko statue in Shibuya, funny that it it’s a film with Richard Gere.

My cousin and I watched that movie a couple of weekends ago I cried myself to sleep and my cousing (who doesn’t cry) couldn’t even breathe. I hadnt cried that much with a movie since the boy in stripe pajamas :'(

The new layout looks amazing, Karen! Great job! And also now really curious to see that movie, but I’m not sure I want to as I’ve been SUPER sensitive when it comes to movies (and even commercials :P) lately. Not sure why lol.
Also, I believe I was playing with these at the MAC counter a few nights ago (I’m pretty sure…) and I just know they felt super hard to me and were SO sheer, I couldn’t help but to be disappointed and have really started to think MAC has been losing its touch lately. It’s like they’ve traded quality for quantity–I can’t even count how many collections they come out with in a year, and it seems like I am more and more unimpressed with each passing one…:/ eeps!

Oh Hachiko. I cried and cried and cried practicaly the whole time I was watching that movie. Loved it though. <3 Hachi. And <3 Richard, ofcourse 😉
The colours in the pan look beautiful! I probably have very similar colours in my makeup stash that I’m just not wearing though, but sigh. Those soft nudes and blushes..

I was SO SO SO SO excited about this collection, and now I’m equally disappointed…

oh no, you didn’t know abuot this movie?! i still haven’t gotten the courage to watch it, cause i know it’s just gonna shatter me. it’s a true story i think, of a dog in japan (or is it korea?).
errr, i’m not sure imma get anymore makeup this year after i splurge big time on a 150$ blush.
I’m big on eyeshadows for my work look. I drink way too much coffee and tea to justify lip gloss or lipstick transferring to my cups. I swatched the Office Hours collection at work and didn’t like it. Too pricey for work safe and sheer colors. I got the Little Beauty Books from E.L.F. that I have been totally werqing at work. It has almost the same payoff as the MAC Office Hours collection at a fraction of the price. 48 colors for $6! Holy bejeezus that’s a lot of color for $6! They’re in two books, Warm and Cool. Target just released an awesome python edition with a great cover.

OMG, Karen, as soon as I saw the “poster” for Hachiko, I was yelling (inside) “NO, KAREN! OMG, NO!” I haven’t seen it but my animal loving friend did and had the same reaction as you and El Hub. One sad animal movie is all I have room for (Black Beauty). My friend said it was very good, too. I was just forewarned that it would be a sob fest, so I passed. I’m sorry you didn’t have a head’s up before watching!
I haven’t seen this, but I know the story! I would be bawling! We saw Marley and Me at the cinema, and while I knew the story (read the book and loved it) I was bawling in the middle of the cinema.
There was also some Netflix cartoon (that I can’t find the name of) but it was two animals who were best friends but were enemy species (I think one was a sheep and the other a lion or something?) and they run away together and get stuck in the snow, and the sheep offered to let the lion eat him and I was just bawling. I thought it was going to be a happy movie. It does have a happy ending, but still.
Okay it was a goat and a wolf.
Arashi no Yoru ni – One Stormy Night

I love that movie..so touching.
Hmm, I do love long lasting make-up as I’m usually in my make-up for at least 12h a day but I’m not terribly taken by any of these colours. They’re a bit bland. My work is already bland enough. I want to wear bright zingy colours at work to lift my spirits whenever I walk past a mirror 🙂
My 14-year old daughter read the book three years ago and said it was really good. She got the movie from the library and the whole family, even my stoic husband was crying!
Haha its funny that you mention Hachiko.. the boy’s dad said it was one of the saddest movies ever. The story sounded super sweet though!
