Most of MAC’s massive holiday 2012 collection is already online and hits stores and shelves tomorrow, and if any part of you loves girly packaging and makeup, you just might freak!
Leopard prints, lace, bows, pink, black and satin — what a bevy of appetizing nouns. 🙂 Thematically, they also comprise the list of ingredients for this year’s holiday feast from MAC, one of the sweetest, most fabulously feminine holiday collections from the brand in years.
The voluminous release, with its individual pieces, kits and sets, is so big that MAC divided it into 10 parts…
- Fabulousness (eyeshadow kits)
- All for Glamour (face and eye kits)
- Primped Out (eye, lip and brush kits)
- Hang Up The Glamour (a portable hanging travel bag)
- Divine Desire/Sinfully Chic (eye, lip, cheek and brush kits)
- Viva Glam It UP (a kit with MAC’s Ricky Lip Conditioner and Nicky Lipstick)
- Kids Helping Kids (holiday greeting and gift cards)
- Glamour Daze (a 35-piece sub-collection for eyes, cheeks, lips and nails)
- Guilty Passions (lipgloss and Crushed Metallic Pigment sets)
- Making Pretty (a luxury set of powders, lipsticks and brushes in gold- and rose-accented packaging)
I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about a MAC holiday release (maybe Antiquitease?)…
My camera’s flash almost overheated this afternoon from all the pics! I haven’t had enough quality time with any of the pieces yet, but here’s a first look at some of the pieces that initially caught my eye, along with swatches on my NC42 skin.
So, are you ready? Because here comes your “Happy holidays!” from MAC.

Swatches on my NC42 skin

With the exception of Guilty Passions and Making Pretty, which arrive on November 8 and December 13 respectively here in North America (internationally, depending on location, some time from November to February), the bulk of the collection is available at this very moment online.
If you’re interested in taking a closer look than these pics can provide, I completely understand. 🙂 You won’t have to wait long. Just a few hours, in fact. The collection arrives in North American stores tomorrow, October 25, and to internationals this November.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

So many items I want…. I have this thing for plum & berry colors right now!
Hi Bree,
Me too, especially on the lips! 🙂
Everything looks gorgeous! Such a great looking collection!
Hi Crystal,
I know, it’s gorgeous! One of the prettiest holiday launches MAC has done in a long time. I really like it. 🙂
How have you been? Good, I hope.
What do you think of the brush set? Is it worth the price with that adorable case?
Hi Ambi,
I like the looks of the brushes and the case! I haven’t had the chance to take the brushes for a spin yet (will do that first thing tomorrow), but from my past experiences with MAC holiday brush sets, they’re just okay. The full-size ones in the perm line always work better for me. We’ll see though.
Anything else in the collection catch your eye?
Thanks Karen!! I just ordered a few things… I wanted to order many things but I might have to check out the larger items at MAC! This holiday collection is overwhelming! 🙂 But I’m diggin it! I got the two lipsticks/lipglasses you swatched. I wish they were selling those big black bow bracelets!
Hi Thepaigest,
OOh gurl, if they sold black bow bracelets I’d be all over that! I’m going to the Pro Store on Saturday and can’t wait to see the Divine Desire/Sinfully Chic sets in person. I think — wait, I know! — I’m going to be tempted.
I also kindasorta want that hanging travel bag, too!
They look gorgeous and so retro, I just hope they release them in Mexico!
Hi Larissa,
I hope so too! You will love these beauties. 🙂
I am literally drooling over all of this. Especially that extradimension skinfinish… WANT!!!

It’s super butter on the skin! I think you’ll like it. 🙂
Loving the looks of that face kit, and, of course, the coral lip look bag.
That’s so your style. I’m sure Missy would approve, as well!
Oh my, Oh my! Those lipstick colors! I actually have to say that overall, their holiday color palette seems like it’s likely be be quite universal as far as skin tones! Yippie!!
YES! I am very excited about that color palette, too. YAY!
Excited for this line, I only ordered the primped out eye look bag in sensual peach, and the regular shy girl lipstick. Just wanted today you make this line even more irresistible with taking pictures of each product on the cupcake stand and the cupcake paper – love it!
Thanks, Camille. 🙂 I figured this line was so yummy…it deserved some delicious photo styling.
Have you been a MAC fan for long?
Definitely been a MAC fan for a few years now but I wouldn’t call myself an addict (muy expensive!) I don’t even know which color foundation I am in MAC but I love your blog because you have the same tone as me. ðŸ‘✌
*to say 🙂
I am so excited about the new M•A•C Glamour Daze Collection that I can hardly contain myself.
Me too, Meg. What items do you have your eye on?
I’ve never wanted a collection only for its packaging this bad! Not so impressed with the shades themselves but the packaging is just too good to pass!
Totally! This one looks gorgeous. 🙂
I am dying for those collections. There are so many things I want. And the packaging is just adorable!
Hi Agata,
I KNOW!!! I haven’t been this fired up about a MAC holiday collection in a while. It’s simply gorgeous. What are you most excited about?
I really want the Warm Eyes palette from the Fabulousness collection ( I hope you will review one of those palettes, I want to see if the quality is good before I buy it). I am going to buy a back up of Superb from Glamour Daze and I love the fluidlines. And the Easy Manner blush…Ok, this list could go on forever as you can see:)
Karen, this collection looks gorgeous!!! I love it 🙂
Now I have to go back and pick up those kohl powers lol
Hi Nadege,
You need Raven in your life! XO
What a cute collection! I am loving those lip glosses!
Hi Jennifer,
Too cute, right? Do you think you might pick anything up?
This collection looks too good! I’m LOVING the animal print and the packaging is gorgeous.. I can’t wait to get my hands on this!!
Hi Kelly,
Yes, the packaging is one of the big draws for me too! 🙂
I’m embarrassed to admit that I had to sound out Antiquitease TWICE before I got it. Silently, in my head, of course. But, my inner English Lit major is still humiliated. 🙂
Hahaha! When you get it right it rolls off the tongue. Now that was a BEAUTIFUL collection. Lots of gold and silver and tweed, I DIE!
It’s a fab name – very clever – and I have a soft spot for all things historic. I’ll have to have a look at the archives. You can’t go wrong with gold, silver and tweed! 🙂
Ive been haulin’. 🙂 Got one lipstick, and a backup, 2 eye palettes, all 3 blushes and 2 Extra Dimensin eyeshadows!
I LOVE this collection hard. 😀
NICE! Which lipstick did you get?
I’m thinking of splurging on one of the Divine Desire kits. I also kindasorta want that hanging travel bag!
Outrageously Fun! Its gorgeous! I also got a tube for my sister.
Im torn on the sets – I feel like I wont use the stuff in them. As for the bag — I bought a tokidoki hanging bag a few months ago when Sephora was phasing that line out. I cant justify a new one.
I got the smokey and the neutral palettes – theyre both awesome!
I’m so surprised that the pieces I’m eyeing are actually the eye Kohls–I usually don’t bother with those types of liners because I know they won’t stay on my eyes no matter what I do…but these colors are just SO lovely!!!
hi Karen, i wonder how do u feel abt guilty passions crused metallic pigments. some bloggers said its kinda hard to use and some colors fall out bad. please let me know what u think.cz i just love love his collection n dying to get one before it runs out.
thx
