Hi Karen, happy weekend! I have just fallen back in love with my Naked 2 palette, simple, classy and effortless. I like gel eyeliners but honestly I don’t have a lot of eyeliners of any kind in my make up collection. I like myself better with my hair down but when I don’t have to go out, I just put it up in a pony tail. And a goal I’d like to achieve by the summer is to lose some weight. My sister-in-law is getting remarried in July so I’d like to look pretty for her wedding.

I just discovered the Cynthia Rowley make up sponge, it’s kinda like the beauty blender and it is AH-MAY-ZING! I’ve been wanting the beauty blender for a while but really couldn’t justify spending $25 on a sponge.

This week, I’ve been loving the Downtown Browns palette by Black Radiance. BR is owned by the same company as Wet N Wild, and this palette looks exactly like one of the WNW 8-pan palettes. The texture of the shadows is the same, too- soft, with lots of pigment! And just as inexpensive as WNW.

My warmest Winter jacket is my L.L.Bean Thinsulate parka that I got the first or second Winter I lived in Buffalo, NY. My ex went to college at SUNY Brockport for 4 years (which is about an hour away from Buffalo) and he swore by his L.L.Bean jacket, so I knew that’s what I wanted to make it through the freezing cold. It’s a dark plum, has a removable hood, and a bunch of pocket (so nice in a coat). Years later, when I started walking or taking the bus everywhere, I was SO GLAD I had that coat.

I always bring my Mom’s Russian potato salad, made with peas and carrots.
Pencil eyeliner always smudges on me and leaves me with raccoon eyes, or making me look like I’ve been punched in the eye. Liquid eyeliner lasts a long time for me, but sometimes it’s a bit too harsh and doesn’t look as natural. I love gel eyeliner because it looks most natural on me, but sadly, it doesn’t last as long as liquid. 🙁

The scent of freesia takes me back to elementary & middle school. I recently bought Urban Decay’s Smoked 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set so I like trying a new colored eyeliner each day. It’s fun and way easier for me to use a colored eyeliner than an eyeshadow.
There is always so much pressure on me when you say to comment anything at all ;P I feel like my comment has to be spectacular or funny….but it just ends up being long 😛

I don’t really have a go-to eyeshadow at the moment. I like to use different palettes every week so that I get to use them all. Right now though I’m still learning how to properly curl my lashes. It was so scary the very first time I tried it but I think I’m getting better!

Urban Decay’s suspect has been my go to lately.
A former next-door-neighbor made a potato casserole every year for our Fourth of July party. It’s unbelievably bad for you (it’s basically tater tots, sour cream, onion, corn flakes, and a lot of butter), but it’s so, so good! That’s usually what I bring.
I don’t watch many chick flicks, but one of my favorites is The Sweetest Thing.
Chanel quad in Mystic Eyes. A light shimmery pink, medium satin brown, dark matte brown, and light taupeish silver. I use it every day. I’m also a recent convert to the Clinique Chubby Stick eyesadows – so easy.

I prefer wearing my hair down, although if I’m in a hurry, a ponytail will do the trick.

Here’s a confession for you. When I get ready in mornings I often don’t give myself enough time for applying makeup. I get in these ruts where I’ll use the same makeup all week long; no smokey eyes or anything creative. I have this mad stash of amazing making that I barely dip into purely due to my crunch for time. Other people do that, right? It makes me feel guilty, like I’m hiding all these jewels and gems from myself. I think after your suggestion I’m going to sort through my stash and admire my jewels. â¤

It’s funny you should mention rediscovering old favorites because, like in your picture, for some reason I ALWAYS seem to forget about my favorite Nars duos (particularly Brousse and Earth Angel). Inevitable that I forget about them and then, after 6 or 7 months I rediscover them and always wonder why the heck I ever stopped using them 😛 It’s a vicious cycle 😛

Just got Ashley’s baptism and 4 month pictures done today with some formal family ones as well. They came out really well-she’s smiling in all of them this time instead of having a meltdown! Haven’t visited Sephora in a while though…definitely need to go and see what they have out. Soon.

Howdy…I do a mean “green eye popping” look with Nars Kuala Lumpur (the “boysenberry” shade) on lids, Ondine in crease, and Bourbon Street to line. This makes my eyes look positively jade green. These shades have just enough gold and brown in them to keep it from looking as if someone capped you in the eye. 🙂
I just cut my hair, so I like to wear it down!
I used to much prefer pencil and liquid, but am starting to really enjoy using gel liners. Turns out I just needed the right brush!
hmmm…. go to eyeshadow is definitely Anonymous from Urban Decay Vice Palette!!! just swipe a light layer all over the lid to brighten in up for every day make up 🙂
