Don’t let me catch you dipping into the frosting again. 🙂 These products aren’t for tummies. They’re for eyes, lips, nails and cheeks.
The recipe calls for pastel colors and 24 cups of sugar. Definition: it’s sweet, sweet, sweet.
Step into the kitchen! Here’s a taste of 10 of the 24 pieces from the MAC Baking Beauties collection, which comes out of the oven April 18 in North American MAC kitchens, stores and online (and internationally this May).
Ya know, I’m lovin’ the idea of this release (because I’m a sugar fiend). Cupcakes and I — we roll deep! But I don’t know… From what I’ve seen so far, these pieces seem more Splenda than C&H.
I was expecting ecstasy with these — the same visceral, intense reaction I get when I bite into a real life red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting (yum!) — but I’m actually on the fence. A lot of these colors look similar on my NC42 skin.
Like In For a Treat Pearlmatte Face Powder and the pretty design (the white edges are an overspray, but I don’t think the design in the center of the pan is). It has all the makings of an award-winning dessert! Normally, I’d want seconds of something like this, but I find myself craving more oomph! Less frost and more coral.
Oh! — and we’ve got chunky glitter here. I had to spend some time with these Paint Pots because they were very easy to go overboard with at first (looked very chunky and metallic). A good policy with these seems to be using just a pinch.
Oh, and the glosses? Based on these two here (Baking Beauty Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm and Glace Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm), they look the same on my lips! Even though one of them looks blue in the tube. They’re both that sheer. Super moisturizing, though, which is cool. I’d probably use them more by layering on top of lipsticks than by themselves.
Cute packaging and dainty colors, but I think I was expecting a little more Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and a little less Easter Sunday. Still, you can’t go wrong when you’re talking about cupcakes and MAC.

Really cute presentation Karen! I was expecting more from this collection also. This couldve been a really cute collection (MAC had cute names…ughh the design). Thinking about the lustre drops and maybe pink buttercream. Nothing is really WOWing me.
These are all so spring-y and wonderful! The eyeshadow with the floral design looks like it would smudge all of those colors together, so I wouldn’t be to excited to get that…However, the lipstick looks really fun and so lovely on you!

I was hoping for cuter packaging, maybe like macaron packages of blush? Something cute! But these really do just seem ‘Splenda’. Meh.
The pearlmatte face powders r cute, but not as cute as MAC’s previous collection. The collection sounds so fun n the promo picture shows cakes, but the products just don’t remind me of sweets or bakery food. =/

I get what you’re saying about more Splenda. So far, this collection isn’t much my bag. But your apron sure is. Would you mind sharing where you found that? I’m kind of in love with it.

These pictures are so cute. I’m not a fan of this, though…just so lackluster!
The lustre drops look like an update of a liquid bronzer they had years ago. Too subtle for blush purposes but love the idea of a liquid blush. Cremes don’t blend and powders emphasize fine lines. Karen, if you have any ideas about which blush options are kindest to fine lines and crow’s feet, please let us know! Chanel, maybe, or another MAC product? Adorable presentation as usual!
Great pictures as always! You really tell a story with your posts which is so unique and fun! I had no interest in this collection at first, but after seeing Pink Buttercream swatched on another NW 20 blogger, I was in the tank for it! I love the super cool pinky-ness of it! I picked up Pink Buttercream and the MSF Lightscapade repromote from the Hayley Williams collection. I guess it’s a good thing that I’m not in deep for Baking Beauties since I went a bit inter-gallactic on Archie’s Girls, lol!
