Right now, the only thing that sounds better to me than biscuits, mashed potatoes and buttered corn (I love KFC’s sides!) and my booty on the couch is the NARS Final Cut collection.
Key words: pink, blushes, lip pencils and illuminators. And pink.

In Final Cut, a limited edition release coming arriving next month, NARS re-imagines pink lips and cheeks with modern femininity. Like @ss-kicker boots worn below a frilly lace dress, the colors are edgy and fierce.
Nice.
The collection includes four Blushes, four Satin Lip Pencils (my favorite formula in the NARS lip product line) and one shimmery liquid Illuminator. And yes, pink.
Lots and lots of pink.
The nine-piece NARS Final Cut collection…
- Sex Fantasy Blush: a pale lavender pink ($29)
- New Attitude Blush: a cherry blossom pink ($29)
- Final Cut Blush: a peachy coral ($29)
- Love Blush: a tea rose ($29)
- Adelaide Illuminator: a shimmering lavender pink ($30)
- Stourhead Satin Lip Pencil: a pale lavender pink ($25)
- Villa Lante Satin Lip Pencil: a cherry blossom pink($25)
- Torres del Paine Satin Lip Pencil: a peachy coral ($25)
- Descanso Satin Lip Pencil: a tea rose ($25)
Each of the blushes has a matching lip pencil, with the idea being that you can wear matching sets of coordinating colors together — a lip pencil with its matching blush. Or, of course, you can mix things up and wear any of the colors together. The liquid highlighter goes with everything.
Here are pics and impressions on eight of the nine pieces (I’ll post my thoughts on the fourth blush, Final Cut, soon). In a word: beautiful. In two words: absolutely beautiful. And four more words for good luck: super wearable, super flattering.

Sure, bangin’ brights like those in the High Seize collection are so, so fun, but give me an everyday matte peachy coral lip or a matte tea rose blush, and I’m one happy girl.
In this release, I also like how the blushes have matching Satin Lip Pencils, because it takes the guesswork (or energy spent on thought) out of figuring out what to wear with what.
Final Cut Blushes
The blushes? L.O.V.E. After trying on New Attitude, Love and Sex Fantasy (oh, my heavens, that name!), I stuck all of them in my bag o’ blushes to wear on the daily.
Yup, even that light lavender pink — Sex Fantasy. I was pleasantly surprised that it showed up on my tan skin. It’s pale but pigmented; I used two layers.
Love, the tea rose blush, reminds me a little of MAC Blushbaby, my greatest MAC blush love. I love it (love Love?), but a word of caution here: Love is sheerer and feels slightly denser than the other two Final Cut blushes I’ve tried.
Cherry blossom pink New Attitude is my favorite of these three. Bright, silky and easy to blend, it’s a blast.
Final Cut Illuminator
The highlighter? It’s glittery, but wait! — give it a chance. Yes, the silver sparkles are on the bigger side, but no, people looking to party will probably not ask you for directions to the nearest discotheque while you’re wearing it, because it’s classy glitter, yo. And I like how it layers on top of foundation and powder products.
Final Cut Satin Lip Pencils
So. The Satin Lip Pencils. I was stoked to try these because, like I mentioned earlier, the Satins are my absolute favorite formula in the NARS lip product line.
That said, I think that all of the Final Cut shades are solid except for the lightest one, pale lavender pink Stourhead. It goes on patchy and uneven, making it very difficult to pull off (for me).
If you like what you see, you might want to start dropping hints to your boo NOW to ensure that he/she gets the memo before Valentine’s Day. 🙂 Say, “Hint-hint, sweetheart! Final Cut will be available starting February 1 at Nordstrom stores and March 1 online and at NARS boutiques.”

That illuminator is such a fabulous shade of pink. I kind of just want to have it to look at it! I think it would have to be a sparkly cream blush or something on my vampire skin though!

All the blushes look beautiful, I cannot decide which one I like better- Love or New Attitude (which one would you recommend for my skin tone?). And I am also kinda drawn to Villa Lante for the lips…A truly gorgeous collection!

I love the idea of the highlighter and those types of products are my favorite. But my skin has a yellow/gold undertone (blue eyes/blonde hair). Do you think it will work on people with less pink undertones? With blushes in that range I can usually make them work…but this one product…so lovely I’d like to try it…I’m not sure? Any thoughts if you have a second? Thanks!

As soon as I saw the Sex Fantasy pink blush, I knew I had to have it. I’d literally been scouring every brand for the perfect pale pink blush (and I mean, the PERFECT shade- Illamasqua Katie and Bobbi Brown Nude Pink came close), and I wasn’t really impressed with my results until I saw this. Ordered it immediately, should have it soon! 😀

My Mom’s name was Adelaide. I have a lot of yellow undertones to my skin and I don’t think this would work all that great but I would love to have it just cause it’s named after my Mom.
