After trying a couple of new products from L’Oreal and letting ye olde mop (also known as my naturally wavy hair) air dry, this was the result…
First thing I tried was the new L’Oreal Color Vibrancy Instant Shock Treatment ($7). L’Oreal calls it a “lightweight melting mask,” and it’s designed to add shine and moisture to color-treated hair.
It’s pretty neat.
It’s a conditioner, so you use it after shampoo. Here’s the kicker: when you work it through your hair, it doesn’t feel like it’s coating the strands, but instead like it’s melting right into them. Can’t say I’ve ever tried anything quite like it before… Really cool.
After I got out of the shower and towel dried my hair, I applied about four pumps of the new L’Oreal Curve It Curl Taming Creme ($5) to it. It added soft definition to my waves without leaving them crunchy or weighed down. I like how my hair looks with this stuff — slightly wild, but not too wild, LOL! Thumbs up.
Wavy hair don’t care! 🙂
Both products are available now at drugstores, Ulta and ulta.com.

I’ve tried some L’Oreal Advanced Haircare products but I can’t say I was really convinced. A lot of silicone and no visible result for me.
Karen,
I love your hair like this! Seeeeexxxxaaaaaay! What does El Hubs say?
Have you tried the more natural line of theirs for curls? I think it’s Evercare? I’ve been tempted, but since my hair is 2b/2c I was worried it might weigh my hair down too much.
Your hair looks pretty like that! Can’t say I would need the curl taming cream but I might try that color shock treatment.
I’m getting these! Love them as you show them (and used them). Of course, my hair isn’t as thick and long..
Despite having a lot of hair (reaches just past the top of my butt – if guys can have thesis beards, I can have thesis hair, dammit!), I’m almost a total noob when it comes to hair products…I use shampoo (whichever is on special at the supermarket), no conditioner, and sometimes a smoothing balm for the very ends. 😛 That’s it!
I’m so impressed by other peoples’ experience with different hair products though 😀
Yay wavy hair! I love the waves/curls my hair does naturally, I just hate how it looks around my hairline :/ It doesn’t quite lay correctly. I’m going to Sephora to stress shop a little this morning. Picking up Bumble&bumble dryspun thickening spray and getting my birthday month gift (right on the 1st! lol). Very excited.
I’m feeling some serious hair envy right now, I think your hair looks gorgeous Karen! I’d kill for hair like yours.
I love your hair like this!! This line sounds pretty good. I may have to check it out soon
I’m thinking of buying the new L’Oreal Advanced Haircare Volume shampoo/conditioner. Their (now discontinued) Vive Pro Glossy Volume shampoo for fine hair was amazing, but it’s been gone for a while, sad.
I need a cut too, but my cousin who cuts my hair and my schedules don’t match.
I can’t say I’m fan of L’Oreal but this sounds good!!
This looks nice!
Your hair looks great, Karen!
Your hair looks nice, air dried! It’s getting really long, too. 🙂 I’m due for a cut and color myself – the challenge this week will be finding the time to have it done!
Love Wavy Hair!! I just posted on how much I miss the summer and I want beach wave hair <3

This is a random question but I HAD to ask you after reading your clinique moisture surge review! What are your ABSOLUTE BEST face moisturizers for winter? My skin is dreadful right now! Thank you darling!
I love this L’Oreal Color Vibrancy Instant Shock Treatment! Even on my fine, wimpy locks, it conditions it perfectly without weighing it down or making it oily. Love the shine, too!
Karen, U inspired me to go curly this week 😀 I gave u a shout out on my instagram 😀
