Sorry, sci-fi nerd moment. 🙂 It’s not my fault. I had to go there because the new Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics summer collection is called Dune Generation.
While I am unsure if the six-piece collection of $18 Stained Glosses is giant sand worm-approved (virtual fist bump through the monitor if you got that reference), I do see a connection to dunes, desert plains, mirages and otherworldly vacation destinations in the colors.
They have the pigmented punch of an OCC Lip Tar coupled with a glossy finish. Wear them atop your favorite lip products, or alone.
The shades in Dune Generation include…
- Dune: a champagne gold shimmer
- Off World: a pearlescent lilac shimmer
- Hedonist: a neon pastel pink
- Aurora: a pink-toned coral
- Concubine: a warm plummy neutral
- Nomad: a shimmery gold-laced maroon

Oh I have always wanted to try one of these but somehow never actually gotten around to it. Your photos make me really want to finally bite the bullet and go for it but I want to wait to see all 6 of your days to know which colour I should try!

Can’t wait to see more of these! I’m still on the fence about getting into more OCC, but the colors are always incredible.
I liked all the shades from this collection but from the swatches I’ve seen I think I like Nomad the best!

I follow your blog fairly religiously for the awesome makeup content, but now? Dune references? Being a sci-fi nerd too? It’s like… well. It’s such an eye-opener. You really CAN be both sci-fi nerd and into makeup! Makeup isn’t just for some stereotype of women… and I HAVE FOUND MY PEOPLE. So many fistbumps and thank you for this.

Hahahaha. I’ve just started to read the book (I’m on a major sci-fi kick at the moment), so this made me giggle. If I enjoy the book, I’ll have to keep an eye out when these come out over here. It sounds like (whether intentional or not), this could be a perfect combination of my two favourite obsessions: makeup and books!
