And now, the next thrilling installment of A TABBY IN SEPHORA — one cat’s quest to find a fabulous fur brightener. (Scroll down to the P.S. to reread Part 1.)
Tabs checked the display for Urban Decay Fabulous Feline Fur Brightener one last time, peering behind the boxes of the Tortie and Orange Tabby shades in the front. His whiskers probed the back of the dark shelf.
“Mrow!” he barked. Nothing! This was totally unacceptable. It wasn’t so much about the fur brightener anymore. His fur was already striking and bright. He was more upset that Choupette was actively trying to sabotage him.
“Um, sir?” The sales associate gestured to him from behind the counter. Grumbling under his breath, Tabs walked over.
“So the order’s all set,” the associate said, peering down at Tabs through a pair of shiny black Warby Parker glasses. “It should be here Monday afternoon.”
Lovely, Tabs thought, his eyes narrowing. Monday. That would mean he wouldn’t have it for any of the kitty modeling parties this weekend.
“Oh!” the sales associate said, seeing something on her computer screen, “This is weird. There’s a note here that says to call someone named Choupette when we get more of the Tabby shade in stock.”
Tabs couldn’t believe his ears. Choupette had this whole thing planned out! She must have known that Tabs would hear about a new fur brightener from a big brand like Urban Decay and would visit the closest Sephora store to his house. She was cunning. Tabs had to give her that.
Suddenly, the spark of an idea. “Mrow?” Tabs asked, looking up at the associate. What about dogs?
“Dogs?” the associate replied. “What about them?”
“Meow-wow?” he said. Is there a version for dogs?
“Oh, of the fur brightener? Let me check.” She started typing on her keyboard. “Looks like, wait, yes, here! There is a version for dogs. Urban Decay Cute Canine Coat Brightener.”
Bingo! Tabs thought. If it comes in a version for black, gray and brown fur, it just might work. “Mrrrow?” he asked, keeping his paws crossed.
The associate’s eyes widened as she seemed to understand. “Ah,” she said, “let me check.”
Tabs could hardly contain his excitement. He started kacking uncontrollably like he did when he watched birds. If Tabs were to show up to Karl Lagerfeld’s party tonight with his fur even brighter than usual, Tabs would be the talk of the town tomorrow, and that would show Choupette who’s boss.
“Aha!” the sales associate said, looking victorious. “Yes, it does come in a shade for dogs with black, brown and gray fur.”
“Mrrrow,” Tabs said. Excellent.

How’s it going this morning? What did you do last night? We came this close to going to see Guardians of the Galaxy, but then I wussed out. The thought of chilling out in pajamas and watching TV on the couch was too hard to resist.
We started watching a BBC psychological crime drama on Netflix called Luther, starring Idris Elba and WOW! It’s great. Every episode is like Silence of the Lambs. I’m not kidding. It’s that good. And scary. And intense.
Other than that, not much new to report. The only thing on my agenda for today is going for a run on the treadmill and spending time with Tabs and El Hub.

A TABBY IN SEPHORA: PART 1 “Hello,” the sales associate said as Tabs entered the store. “Can I help you find something?”
“Meow…” Tabs replied, a little unsure. The sales associate smiled expectantly. Tabs knew that he wanted something to brighten his fur, but these stores were always so overwhelming to him. So many rows and rows and aisles and stacks of products taller than him. He didn’t know where to start.
The associate nodded. Tabs, as if on auto-pilot, moved deeper into the store, pulled by an unseen force. Fur brighteners, fur brighteners, fur brighteners, he reminded himself, trying to stay focussed.
Around him were dozens of displays with sparkling glass vials, vibrant posters and trays filled with pigmented products. A mix of perfumes filled the air.
Cats and cat ladies walked up and down the aisles, exploring the many treasures. Many chatted with sales associates. “This one is great for soft paws,” he overheard one of the associates say. She was standing beside a husky Russian Blue Tabs recognized from his neighborhood.
Tabs stopped in front of a display placed at cat eye level. New Urban Decay Fabulous Feline Fur Brightener! it read. “Meow,” he purr-chirped. Yes!
The display showed that it was available in eight colors. He saw Orange Tabby, Siamese, Tortie, and yes! Tabby too!
He pawed at the small boxes, looking for the shade, but there were none to be found. Shoot, he thought, I think they’re out.
“Meow?” he asked the nearest sales associate.
“Let me check,” she said, heading behind the counter. “Yeah, those have been really popular lately. It’s weird, a seal-point Ragdoll came in yesterday and purchased all of the ones in the Tabby shade we had in stock.”
Choupette! Tabs immediately thought. That cat was always trying to sabotage him.
“I’m sorry,” the sales associate said, “it looks like we’re completely out, but I can order one for you if you’d like.”
“Meow-rrow,” Tabs said. Yes, please. That would be great. There had to be a reason Choupette didn’t want Tabs to get his paws on that shade. A good reason, indeed.

This week I bought three Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipsticks (Poe, Gothica, and Wonderchilde), a Clarisonic acne brush head, and a Sephora Kiss Me balm in 01 Creme Brulee – clear.
I’ve not bought any new make up yet this week but tomorrow I’m heading to Superdrug to pick up their B prepared primer, it’s currently on half price at £4.99!! Win!!

My favorite app right now is Couch to 5K. I started using it on Wed, it’s an app that’s supposed to train you ro run 5k in 9 weeks. I know 5k is not that impressive but I am not good at running so I think it’s a good start and I hope I can keep it up!
I was really bad this past week and went a little crazy on Urban Decay. I bought Perversion mascara, and of course I had to get Subversion to go with it. Then I could not contain my excitement for the Pulp Fiction Gunmetal Heavy Metal Glitter Liner. I have been wishing for years that they would make a black glitter liner! Wishes do come true! And lastly, I bought the Minx 24/7 Velvet eyeliner. I really just want one of everything that Urban Decay ever releases. A girl can dream, right?
I was about to grab an Essence Matte Lip Cream, but I was worried I didn’t have enough money for taxes, so I decided against it.
I am looking into buying some Kiko Milano water eyeshadow. They look very similar to the NARS dual intensity range, but significantly cheaper.

This week I picked up one of the new Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains (Really, Revlon? “Moisture Stain” is the best name you could come up with? Ugh!) which are pretty decent. Not quite as lovely as my beloved YSL Glossy Stains, but not bad and a fraction of the price!
I’m currently waiting to pounce on the new OCC lip tars once they’re released!

This Week I bought 2 of the LE Wet N Wild Trios at my local drugstore because they were the only 2 of the bunch that were neutral colors, everything else was too vibrant & I didn’t see myself using those types of colors.
I haven’t bought makeup for almost a month, but tomorrow I’m going to Sephora and want to check out the new Laura Mercier foundation and NARS eyeshadows.
Just bought the MUFE Fall 2014 palette, can’t wait to play with the colors later this weekend…

I love watermelon its great. My belated grandma grew them in her yard and they were the best ever. No store could ever compare to how good hers were. Ever summer when I was little we used to go where she lives to get fresh watermelon and brought home tons. Use to share them with other people as well for free. Good times!

Last week, a picked up the IT Cosmetics “Bye Bye Undereye” and “Hello Light” duo. The concealer is very thick, and my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural looked a little cakey over it, so I picked up some of the E.L.F. HD under eye setting powder from Target yesterday. So far so good!
I bought Japonesque luminous foundation and Essence gel eyeliner pencil. I have read some great things about the foundation, I hope it works for me.
Got a few new things this week, all drugstore. Went to a CVS and saw Wet N Wild was half off, so I got a few more megalast lipsticks, Comfort Zone and Silent Treatment palettes, Bikini Contest and Ticket To Brazil bronzers, and then two (new?) things I hadn’t seen before, blush/bronzers in Everything Under the Sun and Hold Me Close.
I bought some IT eye concealer and I’m in love! Perfect for my dark bags after late nights up with my baby:)

I have watermelon every chance I get. It’s one of the best things about summer.
An admirer of mine said he liked me in red lipstick so I went out a bought a new tube of red lipstick and matching lip liner by NYX although I have like 5 different shades of red lipstick at home ranging from Brick red to dark orange.
I bought some Sacha makeup online, the yellow power is amazing for those with yellow undertones like myself.
Today was the last day of my Ulta 20% off coupon, so i did some damage today. Mostly hair product, but I did pick up 2 eyeliners I have been coveting – Stila’s Smudge Stick in Graphite and Metallic Umber. I recently purchased a Stila palate recently which came with the color Damsel (Black Brown) and am loving the wear time and smooth application.
Yes, had plenty of watermelons this summer! The best were these huge watermelons that were yellow on the inside, so sweet. My sister-in-law got it from the street sellers. Took us over two weeks to eat it all

I just ordered from ULTA the LORAC Unzipped palette, the Essence blk gel liner, and the new eyebrow gel from NYX. I hear the NYX eyebrow gel is a affordable dupe for the MUFE one. Also I just ordered from QVC a set of brushes by IT Cosmetics. Super excited about that! They have the best brushes, soft, great quality. Just so expensive! But worth it.
I purchased MAC Dream Daze Mineralize Rich lipstick online, and am still waiting for it to arrive in the mail! And yes, I LOVE watermelon and have had it quite a few times this summer! Hope you are having a great weekend, Karen :).

I have a rocking chair that I love and have had since I was in college. I refuse to part with it. When my children were young it was in the nursery and I rocked them to sleep in it every night. After my grandchildren were born and they came to visit I rocked them to sleep in it. Now my youngest granddaughter loves to just sit in it and rock…she’s 8 years old.

I got a sample from Sephora with my order this week of the Benefit They’re Real Liner. Not that I needed another black eyeliner, but I’m liking it so far. I’m not a big fan of cream eyeliners using a brush, but this made it pretty easy!
I saw Guardians of the Galaxy and really liked it! I’m glad I managed to resist the temptation to lump around on the couch instead.

BH Bombshell bronzer, beauty blender, BHCosmetic brush set (because a girl can never have too many brushes), ItsJudyTime palette, LA Girls Pro Concealers (3), and LA Girls Glazed Lip Paints (2…but I want them all). Then I got some odds and ends (i.e., lip pencils and liners, brightening serum/soap).

Yes, I have had watermelon and cherries and figs and anything summery freshness that I can eat at the moment because come winter all these yummy summer fruits are so expensive and not as sweet (duh, since it’s not in season)

I *love* Luther! Although, the third series has got me always looking for killers under my bed now (that’s not really a spoiler).
I ordered some of the Macaron lipsticks from Nyx and they came this week – I wore Pistachio (mint green) to see Guardians of the Galaxy, which was super fun. I’m looking forward to experimenting some more with these colors.

I just purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Enhancing serum because I need fuller brows and I have friends who swear by it…so we will see!

Hi! I didn’t buy any new make-up this week because I’m saving my money for a road trip. On Wednesday, I’m leaving St. Petersburg, Florida and heading to Gadsden Alabama to the start of the World’s Longest Yard Sale on Thursday. For real! It’s over 500 miles long. We’re following it through to Northern Tennessee and then spending a week in the Tennessee mountains. So fun!! Thanks!!
Bought the Charlotte Tilbury Killer Cheekbones set and the Chanel Dentelle highlighter from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I love them both!
Had to take my puppy to emergency as he was non-responsive. When we got there, he started to come around but developed severe bloody diarrhea and vomiting. Apparently he consumed something toxic (he is only 10 pounds). Apparently many plants are toxic to animals like sega palms. We don’t know what he ate but we immediately had all the toxic plants in our yard removed. They even said it could have been a been sting. His symptoms were a severe allergic reaction to something resulting in his going into shock. Whew! He has recovered and is doing well. I could use a little something for me!

My favorite app is the Spring app. It creates a music playlist for you based on rhythm, and the tempo of the music they pick helps you keep up when you exercise. You can use it for walking, running, biking and you can customize the music they pick, it’s awesome!

I have not bought any new makeup lately but I’m also trying not to. I don’t wear it enough once I buy it so I’m actually looking to use up what I’ve got, which will probably take me to Christmas or after, and then I want a makeover.
I ate a lot of watermelon earlier this summer. I also added it to a smoothie, which was just so so.

I just bought a TON of new makeup…Buxom and Benefit mascara, Smashbox CC Cream and concealer, Bobbi Brown Powder and Corrector, Fresh Lip Balm…I blame the brunch time Bloody Mary and the 4x points at Sephora!
Although I usually prefer high end brands of mascara I ended up recently purchasing Loreal’s Manga Mascara and I love it!
I’m still looking for a great waterproof mascara. I’ve tried several and though they are waterproof they all clump.

Watermelon? Yes, please! Had some back on the 4th of July,of course. As for makeup- am on a tight budget -but did finally get to splurge and I bought some Makeup Geek eyeshadows. These were my 1st shadows from MUG – and I have to say I really like them! I think next time I can splurge I will buy more! (though I really don’t *need* any more eye shadows -just *want them*! ). Hope I win the card- I could use some more shadow primer from NARS! 😉

I did not get any new make up this week but as I was getting ready to meet a friend lady night and I started putting on my make up it hit me that I must must purchase some new products. Some of mine I just do not like or doesn’t work for me and some is just too old. I hate spending a lot of money on a product though and them it not work well for me.
I’ve been wondering what the next trend in nails will be. Nail art is still going strong, but a lot of the patterns going ’round are remakes – albeit still very good. What do you think the next big “thing” will be?

I didn’t purchase any makeup at the weekend. I’ve been moving and praiseeeee Jesus, it’s over now lol.
One piece of furniture that means a lot is a cabinet we had custom made for my husband’s audio equipment, since we had a friend who did woodwork. He also made a captains bed but we had to leave it at our last house.
My current favorite app on my phone is definitely Yelp! I live in a city with lots of great restaurants, and Yelp helps me find them all 🙂

Hey 🙂 I didn’t get any makeup this week because I’m from Brazil and next week I’m going to move to USA! So since makeup is soooo much cheaper in america, I’m saving my money!
New makeup this week: DiorSkin Invisible retouch powder, Clarins truly waterproof mascara, Shiseido eyelash curler pads, Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge, setting brush and eyeliner brush and a bunch of stuff from The Body Shop.
After that I’m gonna try to behave for a while…
Yes, I’ve eaten watermelon this summer. I have some chopped up nicely in my fridge now. I crave watermelon after a long run. It’s great to hydrate the body and it eases muscle pain according to medical journals.

I DID get new makeup this week— I ordered the Urban Decay Pulp Fiction eyeshadow palette from Sephora and was pleasantly surprised with the quality!
Darn that Choupette! She’s very devious. 🙂 Oh, I totally love Luther – I was so bummed when it was over. And even though I know it’s 100% cray to love Alice, I still do. The Luther/Alice dynamic was one of the best parts of the show for me. Plus, Idris Elba. What’s not to love? We saw Guardians on Friday and all really liked it. The kids want to go again!

I did buy some new makeup this week! Decided to quit waiting around and just buy the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara I’ve been hearing so much about, as well as the NYX Macaron lipstick in Lavender (probably didn’t really need that but wanted it so badly) and the Urban Decay Pulp Fiction lipstick in Mrs. Mia Wallace. Couldn’t resist. For non-makeup, I also got a coconut sugar scrub and a pumpkin shower gel (it’s not fall yet, but it will be soon!!)
I did get new makeup this week! I got a custom Inglot 5 pan eyeshadow palette, a cream eyeshadow stick from Bobbi Brown and a new blush from Bobbi! I love buying makeup.

My latest beauty purchase was actually a skincare product. I bought the Origins Modern Friction in mini size, while in Edinburgh. It’s an exfoliant and when the salesgirl (who was lovely) demonstrated it by giving me a mini facial, I was sold!
I actually just had my first watermelon of the summer today and it was delicious! 🙂

This week I have been testing out BareMinerals new BareSkin serum foundation. I am a HUGE BareMinerals fan and have been so excited to try the new product, but unfortunately I don’t think it’s a winner (for me). Seems to be drying my skin out and easily settles into my pores and fine lines (even over a primer). Bummer!

I did buy new makeup this week! The Sharon & Kelly Osbourne collection came out on Thursday (july 31st). It was crazy though. I spent checking 3 websites that sell MAC in the Netherlands until 3 AM, and then I went to bed. I set my alarm on 06.15 AM, to check. I immediately grabbed my laptop, and saw that one of the 3 websites had already put up the collection… and all the good stuff was sold out. Bummer. So I checked every 15 mins on the other 2 websites until 9 AM. Then I went on my desktop computer, and I just kept checking the Dutch MAC website over and over again. At 2 PM they placed the images of the collection, but not the items themselves. At 5.18 PM they finally released it, and I ordered Kelly Yum Yum and Cheeky Bugger. I was exhausted!! And on Sunday they released the collection in stores, and I still wanted to get Jolly Good.. and well, you’ve already seen that on Instagram. 😛
I also bought 2 lipsticks and one eyeshadow from a limited edition line from Catrice. Catrice is an awesome German brand, it’s from the same company as Essence. They make great, pigmented and cruelty free stuff for about 3 – 6 euro’s.
Those Guerlain lippies are beautiful! I just couldn’t afford them at the moment hmmmm

My favourite app would definitely be Shazam. I’m always coming across a song that’s catchy and then I’m struggling to remember the lyrics till I can go look up it up. It just makes things so much easier

Picked up some really nice bb cream from Sally Beauty Supply. There’s no visible name but it was in a royal blue tube. The medium dark shade matched my skin perfectly. It’s a good match for tan skin with yellow undertones. My mom loved it, too so I ended up giving it to her (:
I don’t gamble, which is funny because I leave tomorrow for a week in Vegas! I enjoy the restaurants, the shows, the pool, and so on – no need to throw away my cash!
