Aaaaand I do still have a little shopping to do, but I don’t mind the crowds. Not really. It reminds me of the days when I used to work at the mall during the holidays and how busy it would be, with everyone so happy, and the children waiting to see Santa. And how clueless most of the dudes were. If I had a dollar for every little black purse I sold to a clueless dude shopping at The Limited…
We don’t really get snow out here at sea level (this year, just massive amounts of cold rain), but I always like the idea of it snowing on Christmas. What about where you live? Do you think you’ll have a white Christmas?
A little later today, after a quick run on the treadmill, I’m heading to my friend Cindy’s birthday lunch in the city, so that should be fun. I haven’t seen Cindy in a while.

I watched the hobbit last night and loved it, though I regret paying $25 for d-box seats.
I love shopping for cosmetics at Sephora where I can try out just about every product there. We usually go on my birthday or the weekend of my birthday and spend a couple of hours there swatching cosmetics and smelling perfume. I splurge on things that I have had my eye on. My daughter(26 yrs) who does’t usually wear makeup, usually finds at least one product she just has to have.
I really love the checkout line where there are travel, or sample sizes of just about everything for you to try without spending a fortune.

I really picked my love of cosmetics after i received 3rd degree burns. It was kind of a spiritual way of taking care of myself. I went so much further into that when i was young learning to just get ready for school. I picked up contouring and excelled at what i was doing so much that i was asked to help out with a college play.

Christmas eve is all about the family. For Christmas Eve dinner, my family prepares dishes from a different country every year. This year it’s Thailand! Then we watch a Christmas movie and open our christmas pjs from the Christmas elf!

I am having the worst day at work ever. Too much to do before Christmas (my family celebrates mostly on Christmas Eve- that’s when we have a family dinner and exchange gifts).
My favorite makeup counter was the Bobbi Brown one at Mayfair in Milwaukee. I live outside the US now, but man I miss it. Esmerelda, you were the best artist ever. I miss buying Bobbi stuff from you. ;-;
I baked 2 batches chocolate chips cookies last night, fell asleep reading Charles Todd, Bess Crawford mysteries.

I lost 50 francs the other day because I was a total dumb dumb and forgot to take my money when I withdrew money from the cash machine… Winning this would kind of make up for that, lol 🙂
Are you sure it is lost? After a short time (two minutes?) the cash machine takes the money back and cancels the withdrawal, at least here in Germany. So if no one was right behind you, it may be back on your account.

My Mother, that I am living with temporarily while doing work on my house, decided she wanted to take up the carpet that is over half of her house and put hard wood floors down. I don’t like makeup counters, most of them have unhelpful/snooty associates who don’t realize how much $$ I spend on makeup and treat me accordingly. I can count on one hand the ones I have met who were helpful, not judgy.

Christmas Eve will be on my brother’s boat (which he lives on) with his three adult kids. Probably roast beef for dinner, since everyone will eat turkey the next day, and we will open gifts after dinner. Everyone goes their own way the next day, to other family members for a second Christmas.

About shampooing: I find it just unbelievably difficult to understand how can some people wash their hair every 2-3 days, let alone every day! Why? Seems to me that this “the more often you wash it, the quicker they’ll get oily because your scalp will feel the need to compensate that horrible stripping off of all natural oils that you did with shampoo and will do so by producing even more oils and you will catch yourself in a circle” thing has been said so often but so many people seem to still be ignorant and still damage their hair, especially with those horrible popular H&S and similar shampoos.
I used to wash my hair every 2 day as well some 6 years ago, but then I decided to gradually lengthen the periods between washes and now only do it every once a week and mostly because I use a lot of hair styling products not because they get oily(which is awesome, because my skin in general is very oily)

I think we may have a slight chance of snow over here. Which is fine by me. One year we almost had to stay home from visiting the in-laws Christmas morning because the roads were so bad.

I wash my hair three times a week (in the winter at least) and in the summer about 4 times a week. Once a week after washing, i put in a bit of argan oil and let it dry. It makes my hair healthy and shiny without all the pain of using a hair mask.

Hmm, the day before yesterday, GMT, for work I wore a vintage leather skirt, it’s kinda ladylike romantic-gothic, it has a wide fabric belt/waistband with a big kind of cameo in the middle in some kind of antique bronze colour, with a plain long sleeved top in a kind of very muted pinkish brick colour, black tights and my trusty black Brujas boots.
No snow here for Christmas I’m afraid, just the usual grey damp chill, maybe a bit of gusty wind.. probably a few showers.

I usually only use shampoo once a week-usually on Sunday evenings. I color my hair and it get soooo dry so the less shampoo the better.
However, I do scrub my scalp with hot water on Wednesdays and use a bit of conditioner after. If I’m having one of those weeks, like during the heart of summer, where I just feel filthy, then I might scrub my hair mid-week with a bit of baking soda dissolved in warm water–that makes it even cleaner than when I shampoo.
I’m wrapping presents on Christmas Eve because I always leave it to the last minute. 🙂
