If there’s one thing Tabs will not accept from his employees, it’s a failure to adhere to the company’s strict gravy preparation standards. He’ll forgive minor, infrequent violations of the dress code, but gravy incompetence is simply unacceptable.

Skin dilemma.. oh man. I have never broken out more in my life than I did this year. I was a mostly acne free teen/20something, but this year my skin panicked every time I even breathed wrong.

Hi karen, hope you had a great holiday so far. For new year’s, we just stay in! We let our son (4) stay up until midnight or so, then get him settled. And this year we’ll have our baby girl (6mo) to add in! Looking forward to some new makeup releases this coming year!
My biggest beauty dilemma this year are my eyebrows! I haven’t been able to get them the way I want them. I go to eyebrow salons to get them groomed and still I’m not satisfied.
Right now my fingernails are half maroon/half silver. I did them right before Christmas and got a lot of compliments!
I believe I follow more of a tortoise approach with many things! And on my nails now = Wet N Wild Mega Last (great line of nail polishes) in “Just Pickard.”

My most annoying beauty dilemma this year… well, I have two. My skin has been so dry that I have cake face too often. My second has been my puffy under eyes. I can color correct my circles but my bags are so big it still looks funny!

I think my most annoying beauty dilemma this year has been combating acne. My face has just been breaking out like crazy, reminiscent of my teen years. Finding the right combination of products to use and not use has been interesting to say the least. Although it has introduced me to facial oils which have help tremendously. Funny you mentioned what are we wearing on our nails. For the last several times I’ve gotten my nails done I’ve tried polishes that were not my normal colors and wasn’t satisfied with them. So this time I didn’t even look at the colors I just told them that I wanted Cajun Shrimp the go to of all go to’s.

My son asked what I wanted for Christmas, I told him thing for my nails. He found a lovely little manicure set from Ulta in a nice leather case that snaps shut and is no bigger than a change purse. He also got me Elegant Touch french manicure nails. I love his gifts!

My most annoying beauty issue this year was my hair color. After several years keeping the same hair color, I tried to get a brown-mahogany shade, but it turned much too red… A month later, I returned to my hairdresser to get a color correction, and now my hair is much too dark… :-/

As for my most annoying beauty dilemma, I’d say 1) finding a relatively affordable concealer and foundation that stay on my oily skin for more than a few hours and 2) Attempting to get rid of that annoying light skin between my lashes that starts where my eyeliner ends (if that makes any sense, LOL). As a blonde, this is the bane of my beauty existence.
I drink a lot of Iced Latte on a regular basis, but honestly, I really love their Caramel Macchiato. I just can’t afford the calories.

i will be working NYE but luckily i work from home, AND *if* the ER is quiet and there are no reports to type, then i can hang out with my daughter and watch the NYE shows on TV.
My most annoying beauty dilemma is that I have to wear all-mineral SPF in daytime due to my sun-sensitive rosacea, and I can’t find an all-mineral sunscreen that works well under foundation. They all seem too thick and heavy, even if I wait several minutes between putting on the sunscreen and putting on the foundation, the foundation doesn’t feel like it’s going on right. I thought I had found one by Clarins, but it’s got fragrance in it, which of course makes my face turn bright red. Sheesh! You’d think they’d know that their biggest market for an all-mineral sunscreen would be women with sensitive skin that doesn’t tolerate fragrance any better than chemical sunscreens. So, my base makeup choices are limited to TMs/BB/CC creams with all-mineral SPF. When my skin was oilier, I loved Tarte’s products; now that it’s not, I find that It Cosmetics CC+ Cream gives me a lovely glow. But I would love to be able to choose from the wide range of different foundations out there, to experiment more. But, unless I want a face that turns flaming red, I’m stuck with a very limited range of choices. (I will admit that this is better than 10 or 20 years ago, when there was little or nothing; and It Cosmetics’ CC cream does look lovely on me; so it’s not a disaster, just frustrating. Maybe I should be grateful that my wallet is spared the expense of trying all those different foundations!)
Fran, this is a late reply, but the facialist recommended Replenix in SPF 50. I don’t have rosacea, but I’ve had issues with congestion and major oiliness after I went off the pill a few months ago. Replenix’s a little pricey at nearly $30 for a 4 oz tube, but it’s zinc oxide and spreads just as easily as any other non-mineral SPF I own. If you think Beautypedia is a credible source, then you’ll be happy to know it’s rated “best” there and is recommended for those with rosecea. I really like it.

It’s so weird to me, as there are many more exciting beverages out there, but I think it’s because I associate it with the holiday season, and it’s far more comforting, for whatever mood you’re in, than the holiday drinks with 5 different flavors and textures going on at the same time 🙂

With the new year quickly approaching, I am excited to branch out and focus expanding my career. With that I am looking at expanding my makeup collection when I have the chance to. I am excited today I am taking the chance to pick up a pallette from a new to me brand.

The warmest jacket I’ve ever had was this ratty old thing I got at the army/navy surplus store in high school. It had detachable lining and a detachable hood. It was SO amazingly warm. I finally got rid of it and kind of regret it. I may pick up another one for shoveling snow and working outside in the winter. Those aren’t given out to the homeless just because they’re cheap, it’s also because they are incredibly warm.
it’s been “cold” here in honolulu. and by “cold,” i mean 65 degrees and sunny. hoping everyone is having a cozy and love-filled holiday season!
My most annoying beauty dilemma is that I can’t seem to find a highlighter that shows up on my super pale skin!!

Oh I’ve had quite some beauty dilemmas:
1st. is of course – I spent too much on make-up for how much money I have
2nd. I want to start using a foundation instead of BB cream and I really want KVD “lock it”, but a) it’s so expensive compared to my $5 BB b)I’m from Europe so I can only buy it on places like eBay which makes it even more expensive c) I’ve no idea how to choose the right shade

I’m wearing Julep’s Ilga on my nails right now, it is described as a “rhubarb creme” and I think it is really pretty. I usually go for very dark colors, but over Christmas I switched it up to a cheery glittery red. My only issue with my nails is having too many wonderful colors to choose from, I would love to change colors daily.
I’m not doing anything on New Year holiday except staying home all day since it’s the first time in 4 months I can do that!!

My biggest beauty dilemma this year has been what look I want for my upcoming wedding, and whether the ambient lighting powders (which I’m totally lusting after) will work. There won’t be a lot of photography, but I’m going to be in like fifty different kinds of light.

My nails are bare at the moment. I would love to find time to paint them with a beautiful new polish I bought a while back and haven’t used yet. It’s a gray with fine gold glitter called “Prosecco” from SinfulColors.
Sephora just opened in my city (Sydney) – less than 1 month ago. I wonder if they care what currency the gift card is loaded in….
My warmest jacket used to be a sweatshirt…then I moved to Michigan. :/ My warmest jacket now is still probably not warm enough, but I refuse to look like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man all winter. It’s been five winters and I haven’t expired of hypothermia yet, so I guess it’s working ok!

My favorite starbucks drink is the new pecan praline latte! It’s soooo yummy. So much sugar though, so it’s a rare treat! I will stick with my skinny vanilla lattes.

I’m so glad I found this blog. I think my favorite part is that there are cats on the page and it is written by someone who is not 19. As I hit my three decade crisis, I have found an insatiable appetite for makeup and I appreciate having someone in my age group to enlighten me. Plus, I really love cats! And who doesn’t like free things.
Dilemma: turned 25 and suddenly have blemishes.
