What do you do in Napa on a long, lazy weekend?
You take a nap.
Or two.
Or three. You know, #priorities.
My friends Jen and Cindy and I all agreed that the main thing we wanted to do on our girls’ weekend in Napa last weekend had to involve maximum relaxation, and yes, napping was on the agenda. 🙂 At the end of the weekend we tallied up our naps, and here are a few of the places where we collectively napped…
- The pool (not inside but near it)
- The covered lounge area adjacent to the pool (next to a huge bowl of French fries!)
- In the “Serenity Room” at the Meritage Hotel Spa Terra
- In the steam room inside the spa area
- In the whirlpool lounge inside the spa area
- In our hotel room
- On the hotel patio
Haha! Who knew that three girls on vacation could sleep so much and in so many places?
Besides napping in Napa, we also had some yummy meals (my favorite was Sunday brunch at a cute bistro called Grace’s Table in downtown Napa), and we did some sightseeing along the waterfront…
It was a good time, but I’m glad to be back home in Novato. Napping in Napa is fun, but napping in Novato is pretty great, too. 🙂

Naps are THE best!!! What an awesome vacation!!! 🙂
I love it when you post about the Bay Area, it’s my favorite place in the world!
Looks like the perfect weekend! I’m always looking for something new to do in Napa. I will have to check out the spa!
I also used to live in Novato. A long, long time ago when I was little.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I’m officially ready for lunch now! I lost it at the pancakes, lol, yummm!
Naps are the best! Those pancakes look heavenly!
Lovely pictures! The spa looks so pretty and relaxing. And the food – how yummy! Sounds like it was a great weekend. 🙂
oh yums!!
I love water. pools, lakes, streams, ponds, oceans…
If I had a pool I would have one of those long floaty things and- not kidding- I WOULD sleep in the pool.
That looks lovely! I’m glad you had a good time. Not much beats naps and noms. 🙂
Haha was all the napping a result of wine?? I’ve been wanting to get out there, but that’s definitely a planned trip (I hear it’s pricey out there)!
LOL, Indya! Naaaaw, it wasn’t. We didn’t do any wine tasting this time. I think we were all just really tired, LOL!
Wow, eating, being by water, being with friends, and napping are my favorite “hobboes!” Napa looks beautiful!! I’ve always wanted to go but live so far, and my hubby is more of a camper than a spa guy!
Oh my gosh, props to you for being able to hang with camping. I’m like the worst camper EVER. If I camp it has to involve running water, four walls, a roof and a bed. LOL! Do you guys ever go completely off the grid? I could NOT hang!
Sounds like you had a relaxing and refreshing time. That food looks out of this world!! Yummy!!
Hi Tatiana,
The food was so good! I’m thinking about those fries right now and wishing I could have a big bucket of them, LOL!
Happy Tuesday to you. I hope you’re having a nice day so far. 🙂
Looks like a great girl retreat! Relaxing in a pretty place with good food! Karen I had to look up the word “Noms” , lol.
You’re too cute, Denise! I do that too all the time. Thank goodness for Urban Dictionary!
What a great holiday beautiful pics, love the food, i love to eat and it looks so good i need a snack!!!!
i really like reading about your posse weekend getaways. my posse’s all married with kids – hard for us to do these weekend journeys now. we used to do a few. good times!
It’s been way too long since I’ve had a massage or any kind of spa treatment. I was just complaining to my husband. There is only so much I can take, it’s been almost 6 years!
I’m mostly grumpy because my husband spends every scrap of our disposable income on himself 🙁
A few z’s, friends, and food…sounds like an excellent time, indeed!
Napping sounds like a great idea. Be right back…
