Definitely. I’ve bookmarked a section in my baby book on how to greet your pet when you come home from the hospital (hand the baby to someone else, and greet kitty with both hands). Tabs will always be my “oldest” baby.

Tulip doesn’t mind kids. My nieces and nephew pet and chase her. She also seems to know when they are still babies. My niece who is almost 2 loves to pull her tail and and lay on her and she doesn’t seem to mind. One time I saw her trying to ride Tulip like she’s a horse.

Embarrassed to admit that I’m actually hiring someone else to do it! I’m too intimidated by the idea of applying fake eyelashes and trying to apply my eyeliner straight while my nerves are through the roof! The makeup artist has much better skills than me anyway! I just watched your announcement video (I was at work earlier but saw your post on Instagram)…Don’t worry if your daughter ends up being a tomboy (I was such a tomboy growing up…now I have found the perfect balance between being a makeup addicted girly girl and a tomboy). The bright side was, I saved my parents a lot of money presumably because I wasn’t super big into fashion or makeup until much later! LOL!

I have two kids, a boy 11 and a girl 8. I have a full time job, I make jewelry as a hobby and a part-time job, I sketch, I cook etc, but I can admit that my kids are my most precious creation. Soon you’ll feel the same for your little princess 🙂

I still remember your blog post a few months back when you told us that you had been moody and unhappy and weren’t sure if it was ever meant for you to be a mom and if it probably was too late already.
I am so happy to hear the great news and am overly excited to meet Baby MBB in March. We will have to organize a webcam playdate then, I am due in March with my second one (who hasn’t quite yet let us in whether it is a boy or a girl)

BTW, when my daughter was a toddler and in elementary school she was a complete and total tomboy. She even wanted to wear boy’s clothes at times. Now she’s a dress wearing, makeup loving college grad. She worries that people might judge her to be less intelligent because she does love fashion and makeup.
More than anything else I’ve done in my life, being a parent was the most challenging and most rewarding job. Wishing you all the joys and rewards of being a parent.

So thrilled for you Karen! Novato has changed so much since I was little girl growing up there. Yes, back in the last century when we came from Germany it was a one stoplight town! (Grant Ave and what is now Redwood Blvd, which used to be Highway 101 before the bypass.) One movie theater (Grant Ave), one Hardware store (Pini’s on Grant Ave then), and city hall was the Presbyterian Church. Where you live was open space–the only thing down your way was HAFB which was very active back in the days of the Viet Nam War. I lived out by Atherton Ave (wrong side of the tracks literally and figuratively) and we’d be awoken many a night by an Air Force Scramble (I don’t know what they call it) where all the pilots on call run to the planes and take off in a big hurry. LOUD! Will Baby (Call her Tabitha after Tabs?) be born at Sutter in Novato or Kaiser in San Rafael? Hope this is an easy pregnancy for you! So happy for you and El Hub! –Jen

Baby Girl will be born in San Francisco on the Kaiser on Geary. They don’t have delivery in San Rafael, unfortunately. I won’t mind if her birth certificate says SF. 🙂
