So…what is the Monday Poll?
Good question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll. It’s just a list of five more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past gazillion years (more than 10!). I love reading your answers, and it helps me get my week off to a great start. ?

Yeah, I’m OK today. I feel good. I could have used a three-day weekend, but we have one coming up, so I just have to hang on till then…

Oh, and this question cracks me up because whenever Connor meets another kid, she gently places her hand on their back, leans over and quietly asks, “Are you OK?”
It’s her version of “Aloha.” It means a number of things at the same time. “Hello,” “Goodbye,” “Can we be friends?” “Can we hang out?” and “Can I play with you?”
2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week?
My bro! We have so much fun when we hang out. I wish we could go for an easy hike, then grab lunch and a movie.
3. Dramatic or subtle?
GUUUURL, I only want drama in my makeup! I do not want drama in real life.
4. Something you’re currently working on?
Seriously, I’m always a work in progress, but there is one thing… (It’s just the one that comes to mind first.) I’m working on finding some new clothes that’ll fit my fabulous post-baby body, and it IS a fabulous body! 🙂 There was an online sale at J. Crew last week, and I finally sprung for a pair of shorts and some pants I’ve been eyeing.

Yup I’ll be ok. I took Friday off of work so I get a 4 day weekend!

I have a cousin that lives about 4 hours away and she is due to have her first baby any minute now, so I would love to see her and the baby soon!

Cleaning my house before going out of town this weekend!

None today but if I was it would most likely be Lancôme Artliner.
Speaking of J.Crew do you ever shop the factory store? They have a lot of cute things for way cheaper than normal J.Crew. Also I like Nordstrom Rack online because it’s easier to shop than the store!

I’ve heard of the Factory Store and shopped there once. I have a gingham shirt that’s held up pretty well over the last couple years. I also have a leopard-print belt which is completely trashed, LOL! Apparently I used to wear it a lot.
How exciting for your cousin and your family about the new baby! Are you guys close? I hope her delivery goes smoothly.
We were close growing up because we’re pretty close in age. We don’t see each other as much now but we can always pick up where we left off!

2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week? My nephew Jake. He’s 6 and lives about 3 hours away. I really only see him during holidays although I will be seeing him for Max’s graduation party in June!

4. Something you’re currently working on? See above – graduation party. Organizing and getting things ready. Still got to do some gardening. Just ordered a new patio set.

I do feel OK today. Im due to give birth on Wednesday or any day this week so Im looking forward to that.
2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week?
My dad. He passed on last Monday. I wish he could be here to meet his newest granddaughter whom we are naming after him. It was going to be a surprise but hey… Anyhoo, Im sure he will be delighted from heaven.
3. Dramatic or subtle?
Subtle. No time for drama.
4. Something you’re currently working on?
Cleaning. Always cleaning the house in preparation for the baby’s arrival.
5. What liner are you wearing?
I dont wear eyeliner on a daily basis. I do have several eyeliners JIC I need to be extra on occasions.

2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week? I spend the weekend with my parents and my sister, but I wish my brother would have been there. I’ll see him soon, our birthday is next month!
3. Dramatic or subtle? I love drama, just not today! Lol! I’m a subtle girl with hints of drama.
4. Something you’re currently working on? Baking chocolate chip cookies. My high school sophomore has this group of friends and I’m “squad mom”, so I did some baking this morning to send them cookies. Im baking the rest for ME!
5. What liner are you wearing? None. But I’ve been an Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Bourbon kind of girl lately.
As to #1 I am both laughing and nodding in agreement. And also grabbing more caffeine and chocolate because I left my vodka at home.

3. Dramatic or subtle? Depends on what we are talking. If makeup, smokey eye and a nude glossed lip. Smokey eyes for life! But if in life…I run from drama. Nooo thank you. I like my environment to be peaceful.
4. Something you’re currently working on? Staying awake. But also we converted an unused bedroom into a girl room, so it’s like a walk-in closet and makeup room combined. Or it will be, when I finally unpack all my stuff. 🙂
5. What liner are you wearing? I’m actually makeup-free today. But if I WAS wearing liner it would be the Victoria Beckham Black Saffron eye kohl. I have 4 backups of that beauty.

Honestly? I’m a bit grumpy about work stuff. And PMS isn’t helping. I had a good cry/vent during lunch and I’m ready to tackle things now. And I am trying to focus on the beautiful weather!

My sister-in-law. She is in California and I miss her.

I’m glad you’re feeling a little better. Sometimes you just need to let those grumpy feelings pass through you (and then you’re OK). Hopefully it’ll get better and your week will go by fast!
How was your weekend, by the way? Were you able to get out and enjoy the weather?
Yes, I kind of needed to have a temper tantrum and then I felt better. I totally understand why little kids will have meltdowns sometimes. 🙂
The weekend was quite relaxing. I cleaned the house on Saturday and then relaxed the rest of the time and read this book called “The Wife” by Alafair Burke. It was a good read! I spent some time outside with the kitties too so they could eat some grass. 🙂

1. Are you OK today? Yes. I’m recovering from a busy weekend though. I went to a yoga event, took a breadmaking class (woo hoo!), and volunteered at a race.
2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week? I saw my brother and his girlfriend at the race yesterday (they traveled out to Boston from Western MA) I’d love to hang out with them more this week.

Oh girl! You can’t mention bread without letting me know what you baked! What was the most helpful thing you learned in the class? DYING TO KNOW!
Hi Karen! 🙂 We baked challah bread and chocolate babka! I never knew how to bread bread dough. I also never knew how babka gets the chocolate swirl (divide the dough into two after rolling the chocolate in and twist the two sections together. It was like magic. If you ever get a chance to take a cooking class at Sur la Table definitely check it out. I’ve taken a handful of them over the years. Before this I took Thai cooking.

On a scale from 1 to 10 I would say I am at an eight. I am off from work this week as my sitter my sister-in-law is on vacation this week so I’m home taking care of my nine-month-old April. It’s been a while since I’ve had back to back to back days with just me and her and if feels fabulous but overwhelming ?
2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week?
I wish I could hang out with my little sister. She works crazy hours as a 21-year-old with two jobs so it’s hard for me and her to schedule time. She turned 21 last month and we’ve only had one shot together since. It’s time for happy hour!

I’m currently working on home improvement in our apartment. Since our daughter is now crawling and on the verge of walking we have to baby proof everything which means getting round table different emd tables fixing up our bedroom. I’m also decluttering my vanity. It’s been a long while since I purged my hair and make up products

No liner. No make up. I’m hoping to go make up free all week since I don’t have to put on my face for my daughter LOL

I’m a bit tired (stayed out until 1am the last 2 nights in a row…) but I am indeed OK! All I need is a nap, haha.

My sis! I miss her all the time. I mostly just wish we lived in the same place so I could see her as a part of daily life, y’know?

100% depends on the situation and context – but I’m generally on the subtle side. Unless I have to bust out the green lipstick, of course.
4. Something you’re currently working on?
Too many music projects? Haha. The first thing that comes to mind is prepping to record a new album (we’re going into the studio in mid-June) to record our FIRST FULL LENGTH, woohoo!! But in the meantime I’m also working on press strategies to release 4 singles this summer. Oh, and I’m working on booking a mini-tour at the end of August. Woo! It feels good to have all these balls in the air, tbh. I can’t believe I’m not overwhelmed, lol. (I’m sure I’ll get there… haha.)
5. What liner are you wearing?
I’m wearing the ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in black. I decided to try it on my upper and lower waterlines. Sh*t is intense, yo! I swiped it on and was like “holy crap!” It’s SO pigmented. Though it isn’t hanging on very well after 5 hours, lol. Oh well. It usually does quite well on my lids – so I’ll vamp it up a little more with a big ol’ cat eye once I leave work.
1. Are you OK today? Closer to the “meh” end of the spectrum than the “A-OK!” end, but yeah, I’m OK.
2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week? I’d like to spend some time with my dad – his birthday is tomorrow. And it would be fun to help him try the different flavors of ice cream that should be arriving from Leopold’s in Savannah any day now…
3. Dramatic or subtle? Most days, subtle wins. Every now and then, though, I crave something bolder or deeper or brighter – and then I end up feeling self-conscious when people comment on it :/
4. Something you’re currently working on? NYT crossword puzzle!
5. What liner are you wearing? Sephora Collection’s new Glide gel eyeliner in Warm Kaki. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but that stuff held up great in humid coastal GA for a wedding/short vacay. Waterproof, slim, smooth, doesn’t wander off my upper or lower waterlines, and did I mention it’s $14?? Color me impressed! Now all I need is for them to make it in a deep plum…
I’m absolutely ok today because the sun is finally out even tho more rain for tomorrow.

I’d classify myself as OK. Not great, but bad. The weather sucks and it’s making things hurt (omg I sound like a granny, but srsly), but hey, it’s already 2pm and I go home in 3 hours!
2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week?
One of my cousins – I had to turn down a drink/dinner offer over the weekend and we really need to catch up!

Making money appear (LOL). Or rebudgeting, really. And looking forward to my car being paid off.

Yes. We had a 3 day weekend, which was really nice even though Mr. Loca had to work two out of the three days. But still, it was nice to spend time with the kids without having to run around constantly, trying to get stuff done.

1. Are you OK today? Sniff, in the grand scheme yes. But in the mom scheme, I’m a bit sniffly. I just dropped my son off at his first driver’s ed class. I don’t know how this happened and its just like a precursor of all the big moments to come in the next three to five years.
2. A family member you wish you could hang out with this week? One of my dead grandmas. Not to be morbid. I just didn’t get enough time with either of them and I would love to ask them questions. Get advice.

I downloaded the personal capital app and I’m kind of loving the data, especially since I have an English degree and I’m usually allergic to data. But, I’m also kind of horrified because it tells me whether I want to know or not how much I spent eating out eat week and how much I spent on “personal care” ie Sephora.

p.s. I love so much that story about Connor Claire. Is there a possibility that she’s asking these kids if they’re okay in the sense that she’s wondering if they’re okay to play with or if she should avoid them?

I’m in that eh zone. My dad flew the coop for two weeks to kayak in Alaska and I miss him all ready. Not that I want to be with him. Nu uh, it’s still cold as crap in Alaska. My broken toe still hurts too so I’d be pretty useless. ?

My grams. She’s been gone nearly four years but sometimes I really wish I could hang with her. She was a lot of fun.

I tend to go for dramatic makeup only for shows, major events….otherwise makeup? I wear makeup?

I’m working on getting a steady canter with Abby. She’s recovering so well. With Bree, we’re working on exposing her to new people.

Pretty good day at work! My face is horribly broken out but I have an appointment with a doctor tomorrow to talk about my skin. It’s been a long time coming.

There’s a lot of them I’d love to hang out with! Maybe my little cousin Sophia? She’s 5 and I love her. And her big sister Madison.

Dramatic in circus! The owner of the circus gym said my acts are a bit extra. TRUTH.

Trying to exercise in fun ways 5xish a week! And not injuring myself! I sprained both wrists in February lifting weights due to hyper mobile wrists.

I just got out of the shower, but I wore Clinique Pretty Easy today in brown. I just bought the new Dior liquid liner in bronze but it hasn’t arrived yet.

After watching the entire 2nd season of 13 Reasons Why, No I will never be okay! I was BAWLING! And that just means the actors are tremendous at their jobs.

3. Dramatic or subtle? Drama, except in life. I’ll watch other’s people’s dramas, have dramatic makeup, but boy do I not want to get into a fight like ever!
4. Something you’re currently working on? SEO. I’m no expert but I also can’t afford to pay a service, so I am trying my best. Boy does this involves a lot of typing.

I think so. I’m out of bed and not glued to watching Grey’s Anatomy like I was yesterday. I mean, I have a roof over my head and a Trader Joe’s close by, so yea, I’m OK.

I hang with my sisters all the time now that I work out of their office!

Subtle with a pop of drama. You don’t want to overwhelm.

Getting more business. I need to work on a business website, posting more on my business IG, emailing more people, etc.
