“You must be my Summer Starrrrrrr!!!”
I dare you to NOT sing Madonna’s Lucky Star out loud whenever you think of the name of this kit, ’cause I sure as heck can’t do it.
Mega-influencer and glamazon YouTuber Patrick Starrr is back with another collab with MAC, Summer Starrr, and it’s all about warm shades and peppy packaging.
The summer collection includes a kit containing an eye quad, glosses and a bronzer; and a separate shimmery face powder, and they’re up on the MAC website right now.
The Summer Starrr Full Face Kit ($49.50)
I looooooove me a summer eyeshadow quad! Gimme, gimme! ? All of those tantalizing, toasty golds and peaches… Basically, I like any and all shades that go well with a tan. Unexpectedly, Patrick’s new quad is actually warmer toned than usual for a summer collection.
Heck, with the red and orange undertones, it’s almost fall-ish. (Think Urban Decay Naked Heat.) Totally brings the drama if you want all eyes on your eyes.
It’s a little too BAM! for my life right now, but the shadows blend pretty well, and they don’t irritate my eyes one iota (which is something that’s been happening to me when I use some of the newer MAC palettes, unfortunately). Plus, the wear time is crazy good! I’m getting a solid 10 hours with a primer underneath them.
The kit also includes two gnarly nude, opaque lipglosses — a pale peach called Fashion Punch and a neutral pink called Cream Pie. For the record, they are NOT sheer at all. They’re almost like glossy pigmented liquid lipsticks, and they also have mega lasting power, and I can still feel them on my lips after I eat something. *smacks lips*
I can’t wait to wear ’em with smoky eyes!
And the last item in the kit, the Hot and Heavy Bronzing Powder, is A-OK in my book. ? The powder particles are finely milled, and the color isn’t excessively orange. Not too sparkly either. It totally gets the job done.

Face Powder in (Opalescent) in Hot and Heavy ($34)
Sooo, technically, I think this shimmery golden tan is meant to be a face powder, so you can use it all over if you want to, but I’m going to assume that it’s primarily intended to be be used as a highlighter, because what would an influencer collab be without a blinding highlighter? Answer: an unheralded travesty. 🙂
I like it…as long as I only use it with a light touch. If I go in too hot like Maverick from Top Gun, the frost is all “HEY, FINE LINES, CAN I GET A WHAT-WHAT!?”
And you know I’m not about that life.

Lord, I have a disease. I bought Naked Heat in November last year. Haven’t used it. Bought Mischief Minx a few weeks after that. Used it twice, maybe? But I swear in the giant fork and spoon and velvet last supper tapestry that the makeup loving pinay in me NEEEEEDS this collex like pancit bihon NEEEEEDS kalamansi.
I love him so much. When I saw him post the video for this (same one you embedded) I was like, YASSSS, Patrick, YASSSSS!
Too warm toned to me, I’ve realized that I can’t wear really warm colors without looking funny, I even struggle to look good in an orange/warm red blush used sparingly, so the collection is a completely no go.
I had to laugh at Sandy Crotch because the Hubs and I were JUST having a conversation on Sunday about how no one could ever sell anything with the word “crotch” in the name. It boggled the mind that anyone would even try. I didn’t even think it could be successful in a XXX store. Well, thanks for proving me wrong, Patrick StaRRR. HAHA!
