My friend Jen and I joke that the best thing about fall and winter is that you can stop shaving. It’s one less task to do in the shower, and the velvety coat of fur serves a dual purpose by keeping you warm, ha ha!
Be that as it may, just because I take a week (or two) off from shaving every once in a while when it’s chilly doesn’t mean I neglect my skin situation entirely. I’m still deeply serious about exfoliation, and Trader Joe’s Grapefruit Ginger Sugar Scrub makes the experience infinitely more glam.
Babes, this sugar scrub is so rich, so creamy and so moisturizing that you might be tempted to skip your daily dose of lotion. AND THE SCENT? One whiff of this tangy ginger and grapefruit will instantly teleport you to a five-star Hawaiian hotel and spa.

I can’t believe this huge 8-oz. tube is only $5.99, because it’s just as good as Origins’ $32 Ginger Body Scrub. Stock up while you can, because I’m pretty sure it’s limited edition.

Speaking of Trader Joe’s…
Tonight I’m going to a potluck with the mothers group I belong to, and when I signed up to bring a dessert, I’d originally planned to bring a pan of my go-to brownies. Unfortunately, the dessert gods were plotting against me, and I didn’t have enough time to get it done. My backup plan was to pick up some mini cupcakes at my favorite bakery, but when I drove by the store they had a big “CLOSED” sign out front.
Denied!
I ended up going to TJ’s and getting this box of Sea Salt Brownie Petites instead.

I hope they’re good. *crosses fingers and toes*
In other news, have you read this month’s Fearless Flyer yet? There’s a blurb in it about a TJ’s podcast…

Needless to say, I’m excited, and I just can’t hide it! 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

That is such a good price. Add to shopping list: check! I don’t know what I’d do without TJ’s girl. Have you tried their mini almond biscoti with coffee? It’s a little slice of heaven.
Between the ginger grapefruit and brownies, this post is making me hungry. 🙂 I love a good scrub, so I will definitely try this. I need to make a TJ’s run this weekend so I hope my store has this. I’m sure the brownies will make there way into my cart too!
I think I’d really like the smell of that scrub, just not the scrub part. You know how I am about slippery shower floors. 🙂 Someone in the comments the other day had mentioned that TJs had a podcast, too. I figured you’d be all over that. How were the brownies? And how was the potluck? I hope both were fab!
So the brownies got a good reception. Right before I left I looked at the tub and there were only a few bites left. It probably helped that someone else brought a kick @ss tiramisu; the little bites of salty brownies were a nice compliment. Thank goodness for Trader Joe’s!
I met a couple nice gals who seemed like people I could be friends with. 🙂
Oh, I’m so happy to hear that!! I think all your efforts will definitely pay off. This news made my day!
Also, sweet that the bites were a hit. I’m not desserty but I do love tiramisu. By far my fave! I’ve never made it because I’m afraid I’d eat the whole thing. HAHA!
Sounds like the scrub smells lovely. I’ve only used a sugar scrub by Fresh once and it wasn’t my thing. Felt like I wanted to soap up and wash after it and the shower floor got all slippery. Ended up tossing the tub of scrub. Oh and have I mentioned I hate going to TJ’s? Ridiculously long and chaotic lines at the registers. Too much packaged food. And don’t get me started how people will block traffic on the street forever to wait for a spot in the parking lot when they could easily park in one of the surrounding city lots and walk a half block or so.
I know which one you’re talking about. This has some of that “slip” but it doesn’t leave behind a thick layer of oil on the skin. There’s a little bit but not a lot.
Babe, you need to go to MY Trader Joe’s. There’s always parking, easy to get to, and the lines aren’t too bad. Novato is where it’s at!!
OK, so maybe I got try this scrub if it doesn’t leave an oil slick behind.
My trainer shops at TJ’s all the time. She says the best time to go to our local one is when they first open up in the morning. I guess I need to work on being more of a morning person.
P.S. What are you making for dinner with your daughter, tonight?
Those brownie bites are the bomb! Can’t wait to try the scrub! Hope the new girls end up being good friends!
The sea salt brownies are the best. They are not gluten free 🙁
I love the scrub, this is the second time it’s been in this year.
