First thing I’m going to do after I return this to Target and get my $9 bucks back is go to In-n-Out for a vanilla shake… Then, I’m going to pour a little out on the ground to mourn my lost homies (otherwise known as “the lashes that unexpectedly fell out when I tried using it”).
I’m also going to order a bucket of fries and a cheeseburger to comfort myself, since I can’t get back the minutes I lost this week trying to actually curl my lashes with the thing.
Why was it so hard to figure out how to properly angle the black rubber pad along the outer corner so it nestles the base of my lashes…? And why did it pinch my skin every time I clamped down on the curler?
OUCH!
I eventually figured out that if I squint my eyes and lift my lid with a finger, I can get down to the base and give the curler a good squeeze, but even then, the curler only bends the base of the lashes ever so slightly, and those few curled hairs relax back into their natural straight state within minutes.
Y’all…this thing just doesn’t work.
But I’m not about to let it rob me of my curled lash dreams. My desire to find that elusive tool that’s able to lift that outer fringe, coupled with the spark of hope (and perhaps another double cheeseburger?), will continue to fuel me on this beauty quest.
We will prevail, people!
Until then, extra fries and ketchup for everyone. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S.

Oh no!!! I’m sorry you lost some lashes. That’s a pretty gold curler, too bad it didn’t work. I hope the lashes you lost grow back quickly. Dear Husband calls my eyelash curler a prisoner of war torture device.
I’ve been on the same lash product as you for about a year, and my lashes have gotten pretty wonky. The outer left lashes are SUPER curly and I hope they grow back nicer on the next cycle.
Anyway, I’ve been using a Zlime heated curler for a year and it is really good for sorta-wonky lashes and better than nothing for my super-wonky lashes. It’s like $20 on Amazon. Try it!
So sorry Karen that it happened . It sounded like a great idea .
Enjoy your Friday tho .
And the weekend !
Hi Karen,
This Japanese eyelash curler might be what you’re looking for, though it’s an expensive experiment.

OMG!!! That reference to “Gangsta Lean” is EPIC! Who remembers that song??? This post just took me waaaay back!
I have a battery-powered heated lash curler – I got it on Amazon and it was less than $20 – that works really well for lifting the outer lashes. Use it after you apply mascara to help hold the curl.
I have noticed that eye lash curlers are shaped differently. I was wondering why when I bought a brand new curler, that it was so hard to do. I felt like I was gong to poke myself in the eye. Her some are curved a lot, while others are very straight with just a slight curve to them. I am still using my old one I had from years ago. I need to try to find one curved like that.
I’m sorry this wasn’t the right curler for you but I’m sure you’ll find it eventually! I can’t really address the lost lashes because I’m sort of panicking at the thought. I hope they grow back VERY quickly!!
