I’ll keep it around but only use it out of sheer desperation… I’m crazy picky about my brushes.

Magnetic closure or snap?
Magnetic closure! They eliminate having to pay any attention at all when you open and close, and I’m all for that. Also, it’s not like I’m hitting the open road right now, so I’m not worried about things jostling around and unexpectedly opening in my makeup bag.
Black or white packaging?
I like the look of white packaging (plus, it’s easier to find white products in my bag for some reason), but black is generally easier to keep clean. So…black.

All matte or all shimmer? Ideally a mix of both, but all shimmers if I had to pick only one because certain matte shades can be chalky. (Depends on the brand.)
Practical colors or fun colors? Practical- I’m boring. (Too many bright colors growing up.)
Creams or powders? Powders because my eyelids are oily, though I do love the Chanel Stylo Ombre et Contour in 12 Clair because it’s a drier formula. It’s so quick and easy to use.

Black or white packaging? I like white though it gets dirty easily. Black might show fingerprints and powder. I try to wipe my palettes down. (Assuming there is a lot of fallout.)

I do think about building my own palette sometimes, it’s a fun exercise.

All matte or all shimmer? All matte-if I need a shimmer for a look, I can always bring in one from another palette.
Practical colors or fun colors? Fun colors-I find that color practicality is usually more a matter of degree than of absolutes.
