Why are the first couple days back to work after a long holiday weekend so rough? I swear I feel everything I’m doing is in slow motion!
I had back-to-back meetings all morning, and so I put on some makeup. It’s a lot easier to be perky on camera when you’re wearing buttery brown matte eyes and matte plum lips, and yes, you can quote me on that, LOL!
The eye, cheek and lip products I’m wearing here are all Jane Iredale, a “clean” (air quotes) line you can find at Ulta and Pharmaca.

I love how her powder eyeshadows blend so easily. If you’re the type of person who likes to do one or two colors on your lids and then call it a day, I think you’ll love her eye palettes. The one I’m wearing in these pics, Naturally Matte ($59), is a great option for everyday looks. All the colors are neutral and totally wearable.
This was my first time trying a Jane Iredale matte liquid lipstick. The plum shade I’m wearing, Covet ($32), has high pigment and lasts through drinks and snacks.

I was kinda surprised by the Peaches & Cream Bronzer ($44), because on me, the shimmery peachy-tan looks more like a highlighter on my tan skin. It reminds me a lot of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, but just a touch less frosty.

I’ve got a few deadlines looming so I’m going to get back to doing what I do! I hope your Tuesday has been great.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Totally unrelated, but I forgot to mention that all throughout the Thanksgiving weekend, we were listening to yacht rock at our house, and now these songs have been playing on repeat.
Make a wish, baby!
Meet you all the way
Seriously, somebody stop me

OMG once in a while my husband just blasts yacht rock through the house, it’s so weird.
Love the plum! I just ordered a new berry lip stain I’m excited about.
It was weird but glorious when we were listening to it. My brother calls yacht rock “CVS Bangers.” LOL
I love a good lip stain, especially when it stays on evenly.
BTW I’ve been loving your Hettie in the snow pics!
Hahaha, CVS bangers 😹
Hettie loves snow! She randomly chomps some while we’re out walking, and loves standing on the back deck eating snow.
Ugh… you are SO GOOD at the effortlessly polished lady look. And I cannot tell you enough how I love how your hair looks! ❤️
PS Our visit to SF was far toooooo short. I love my home, but right now, I really envy the Bay Area’s 50-60° temps.
Such a pretty and natural look. I don’t know anything about that brand, but the palette is gorgeous. Have you noticed that many brands are not promoting powder eyeshadows or have many in supply. It seems like cream sticks are the hot products.
Anyway, we listened to lots of Beatles music over the holiday because of the docu-series on Disney. I can never have enough Beatles music. It always puts me in a happy mood.
Hi Karen!
I was evaluating my beauty content consumption over the last ten or more years (blogs, videos, Reddit, Instagram) and I realized that your “little” blog is the very happiest point of light in AAALLL of that content for me. I always feel lifted and positive after coming here. Plus I can never get over the fact that more often than not, if I’m wondering about it, you’ve reviewed it.
Thanks Karen!
Susan
The eye shadow is subtle and clean looking. Love it.
That makeup looks so good and so effortless at the same time!
