So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Cleansing oil or cleansing balm?
Cleansing oil because it’s less likely to hurt my eyes.
2. Cream in your coffee?
Yes, please!
3. Things you rarely wear?
High heels, full-coverage foundation, turtlenecks, pencil skirts, itchy sweaters and oversized shirts.
4. Serums: yes or no?
Yes to Skinceuticals Vitamin CE Ferulic.
5. How’s your hair today?
Shockingly well behaved.
6. Clinique or Lancome?
I like both, but if I had to choose, I’d go with Clinique because I like their sunscreens and their casual makeup style.
7. Cucumbers or edamame?
Why is this so hard for me, LOL?! Edamame, I guess, with a generous sprinkle of salt.
8. Roses or freesia?
Freesia. It’s that time of year when they pop up in my neighborhood.
9. Something new you recently discovered about yourself?
I recently found out that I’m pickier now about scents than I used to be, especially with body lotion and hair products. I like really like subtle scents.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

9. Something new you recently discovered about yourself? I took a ridiculous amount of photos in college. I’ve been cleaning out every room in my house and I have tons of photos. And this was before digital so I spent all that money developing them
That’s so cool that you have so many pictures from college! I think only have a handful. Wish I had more!
1. Cleansing oil or cleansing balm? Oil. I find balms too hard to rinse off.
2. Cream in your coffee? Definitely.
3. Things you rarely wear? Full coverage foundation. High heels. (Wore them out for Christmas dinner and I had to walk very carefully to and from the restaurant so I wouldn’t trip). Turtlenecks because it’s never cold enough in CA for them. Boots for the same reason. Can I move to Paris or London so I can wear cold weather clothes?
4. Serums: yes or no? Depends on the serum, but mostly yes.
5. How’s your hair today? Still pulled back from my workout. Gave Dear Husband the first shower because he’s actually meeting a client in person today.

7. Cucumbers or edamame? Edamame!!
8. Roses or freesia? Tough choice, I like them both. I guess roses. I haven’t seen any freesias in my neighborhood yet.
9. Something new you recently discovered about yourself? I really, really, really hate daylight saving time. I prefer sunnier mornings and I find it easier to fall asleep the earlier it gets darker in the evening. Once again, I realize I’m the outlier on this point.
I’m with you on the sunny mornings. I would much rather have light fill the room in the first few hours of the day!
Happy PI Day!

8. Roses or freesia? Freesia. They smell so good. It’s the most beautiful smell. But I love rose artwork.
9. Something new you recently discovered about yourself? My husband and I have been talking about moving to Michigan, from central CA, for six years. We’re currently in escrow on a house. I have discovered that I am far braver than I thought!
You are so brave. Congrats on making the decision to move!
1. Cleansing oil or cleansing balm? Cleansing oil – seems to be more effective at removing sunscreen.
2. Cream in your coffee? Don’t drink coffee – it always smells better than it tastes.

6. Clinique or Lancome? Lancome – I use the Bi-Facil remover and the mascaras. Don’t use any Clinique.

8. Roses or freesia? Roses. I wish I could get them to grow in our foundation beds.
9. Something new you recently discovered about yourself? I’ve run out of tolerance for bullshit at my job. Which probably isn’t good because it’s going to be a load of bullshit for at least a couple more years.
I’m always late to the polls as Monday and Tuesday are crazy days at work.

5. How’s your hair today You know how the trash bin looks when the raccoons get into it? That’s what my hair looks like – tomorrow is the first haircut in 5 months.
6. Clinique or Lancome? Clinique. I like the quality of Lancome but the products are just too highly scented for me.
7. Cucumbers or edamame? Cucumbers – love them with some Japanese Rice Vinegar
8. Roses or freesia? Freesia
9. Something new you recently discovered about yourself? I can shovel a VERY long driveway in Chicago without getting winded at age 64 (thank you, personal trainer).
1. Cleansing oil or cleansing balm? The closest I get to either is Neutrogena Foaming Facial Cleanser.
2. Cream in your coffee? No-I don’t drink coffee all that often, and when I do it’s either a flavored K-cup (whose flavor I don’t want to dilute) or a fancy coffee drink from Starbucks.
3. Things you rarely wear? I love heels, but I don’t get too many chances to wear them.
4. Serums: yes or no? I use 2-a 10% glycolic acid serum and a 1.5% hyaluronic acid serum, both by L’Oreal RevitaLift.
5. How’s your hair today? Freshly washed and braided for a few hours until it waved.
6. Clinique or Lancome? Probably Lancome-I already own a Clinique lipgloss and only like a couple of their gloss shades about once every 10 years, whereas I’m currently interested in quite a few shades of Lancome lipstick.
7. Cucumbers or edamame? I’ve never eaten either, but I guess edamame.
8. Roses or freesia? In fragrance, either. As far as the actual flowers, either, as long as I can find artificial versions-I have a bad habit of killing real plants.
9. Something new you recently discovered about yourself? I’ve become a bit braver about politely but assertively speaking up when I’m misunderstood.
