Hi, friend. If you need me, you’ll find me surgically attached to my Bose noise cancelling headphones. It’s the only thing saving me right now from a meltdown. Side note: the construction is still happening at my house.
Anywho, three quick things…
1. Urban Decay’s new All Nighter with vitamin C
Their cult-classic makeup setting spray is getting a skin care upgrade. UD added vitamin C, cactus flower water, a subtle lemon scent and bright packaging.
It’s currently not on the UD website, but expect it to be online soon, for about $33.
2. Laura Mercier’s latest Tinted Moisturizer
Speaking of reinvented classics, Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer now comes in a dewy finish. A soft pearl in the new Tinted Moisturizer Light Revealer imparts a subtle sheen.
It has SPF 25 and is available in 14 shades. A 1.7-ounce tube is $48.
3. Sawyer 20% Insect Repellent Spray
With the contractors going in and out of the house, our windows and doors stay open all day long. Unfortunately there are a ton of mosquitos in Novato right now, and if it wasn’t for this bug spray, I would be devoured by all the insects within striking distance.
It doesn’t have an obnoxious scent, and a little goes a long way. A 3-ounce bottle is $8.50.

I hear you – I moved last Tuesday (8 miles west) and it has been H*LL! Bugs everywhere (I live in South Florida) – contractors still coming in all day (it’s a brand new house) fixing what they should have the first time! I live in insect repellent – but alas, no makeup. Good luck with your re-do.

Man I wish my skin liked Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers! They just did a blush in that formula too.
We’re getting along in packing, we’re renting a dumpster later to get rid of some old broken furniture and the like. Good luck with the construction! We’ve had contractors working on the front porch of our old place (a drunk driver ran into our house in November, and while luckily everyone was okay, the front porch was DESTROYED) and it makes Hettie so anxious.

Our contractor just did a haul for us and removed all our broken furniture. It’s a relief to finally let that stuff go! I said goodbye to a broken dresser that I’d been hauling around with me since 1999. AHHHHH!
You know what I never quite thought about until now? The scale of the furniture pieces in relation to the room. Many of the side tables and whatnot I had were just too big for the space we have now. Next round of items I’m going to buy will be smaller scale, for sure.
The guy who ran into our house lives down the street too. Luckily it was mostly my landlord’s problem, I was just glad everyone, pets included, was ok.

I bought the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Light Revealer for my trip to Florida in the same shade that I usually get in the regular one (Nude). I definitely think it is lighter and I am not sure if it is as hydrating, but I definitely feel it is more luminous. I am also curious about the new liquid blushes that LM is launching. I’m waiting for the Sephora sale to start to make my purchase.
No bugs yet out East, but I am always looking for a good bug spray since once the warmer weather comes, I am out on my deck.

We love that bug spray too! It lasts forever. I’ve been reading back in your sunscreen series, since the bottle of Cetaphil face moisturizer with SPF I got pills something awful on me. What’s your favorite for face right now? 🤗
Hope all that construction is done soon! Lately I’ve been using YouTube channels that have ambient noise videos like “coffee shop” or “oceanside camp fire” when I need to tune out. It’s been a lifesaver.
Quiet, yes, which is the only way that I can get work done. I am a huge fan of the original LM Tinted Moisturizer, a trusted base for every day for many years now. I prefer the oil-free version though without sheen.
