Happy New Year and happy Saturday to you, my friend. I hope this last day of the year is filled with love, sweetness, kindness and laughter.
Just a quick reminder courtesy of the show “Emily in Paris” — should you need a pal to talk you down from cutting your bangs while under duress, you know where to find me. 😉
It’s raining cats and dogs here in Northern California, so I’m shimmying into 2023 with my people here at home. I’ve got grand plans for pajamas, hot tea, a charcuterie board and karaoke. Yes, I’m excited!
We’ll stay up until midnight, and when the clock strikes 12, we’ll do some Filipino cultural things to welcome the New Year. At midnight on the dot, we’ll jump up and down, make a lot of noise, and then open the door to let all the good luck into our house! Shortly afterward, we’ll all promptly pass out. Ha ha ha!
What are you up to this evening?
This week’s reading
- Organize your makeup with these finds from Tar-ghay!
- Here are some jasmine perfumes to sniff next time you go shopping for a new scent.
- More museums, hotels and fragrance experts are offering immersive “smell-based adventures.” Could this be the next big thing in travel?
- Cats of Yore features kitties from days gone by.
- Simple eye makeup ideas to try ASAP.
Some lovely music to usher in 2023.
Making my list!
Obsessed.
Adds to cart!
All I have say is wow!
I hope good things come your way in 2023. Stay safe tonight, OK?
Sending you so much love!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

That sounds like a fun New Years Eve for you and the fam, Karen! We are not doing anything tonight but tomorrow night we are attending a birthday party for my cousin and my mom will watch the girls overnight, so we’re looking forward to that!
Happy New Year!
I grinned at the reference to cutting bangs. I was in the field once for work. I was in a hazmat suit due to biohazards and I had some hair that kept sticking out of my head covering so I finally grabbed scissors and gave myself bangs. They were a tad short. Basically, I looked like a Romulan from Star Trek. Never again. Have a wonderful New Year!
