So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Pudding or jello?
Um, pudding, I guess. I never crave jello, but once in a blue moon I’ll want tapioca or rice pudding.
2. What’s the newest skin care product in your lineup?
I just started using the bliss Pro Liquid Exfoliant about a week ago.
3. What’s one item from childhood that you still have around?
I have a cardboard box filled with random things I’ve kept since I was a kid; there’s a drawing of a white cat wearing a blue collar in there somewhere.
4. Something you need to buy at the grocery store?
Parsley. I want to make quinoa patties, and TJ’s didn’t have fresh parsley last time when I popped in over the weekend.
5. How good are you at building stuff?
If there’s a clear set of plans and I have all the tools I need, then I do pretty well. A couple years ago when Connor got a play kitchen and a doll house for Christmas (so many toys had to be put together from tiny little pieces), I was the one who built it all.
6. A makeup artist whom you’d love to paint your face?
There are so many! I’ll always have nothing but love for Hung Vanngo, Daniel Martin and Lucky Bromhead.
7. Last time you washed your hair?
Saturday night. I was exhausted but my hair smelled like food after I made dinner. I can’t deal with meat-scented strands at bedtime. LOL!
8. Something you’d like to do less of?
Scrolling my phone before bed. I gotta get out of that habit!
9. Something you’d like to do more of?
Dancing. 💃
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

P.P.S. Happy Monday, beautiful! I hope you get all the kitty kisses this week and then some. 🙂

Happy Monday! I will definitely keep my snow over your rain. I hope you’re all holding up OK. I know it’s quite bad in some areas. 🙁

4. Something you need to buy at the grocery store? I think I’m all set today.
5. How good are you at building stuff? Yikes. Not one of my top skills. If the instructions are good and I have everything, I can get it done. I can not “see” where everything goes or make working adjustments on the fly. Combination of not much practice and not much natural ability!

The engraving is in an ornate cursive script and is very pretty. I like to wear the heart on a long sterling chain.

3. What’s one item from childhood that you still have around? My unicorn Guinevere. I got her on Christmas Eve when I was 7. She’s a big stuffed unicorn. I still sleep with her. She’s got socks over her legs because her stuffing is coming out, but I love her fiercely. Love her.

6. A makeup artist whom you’d love to paint your face? Wayne Goss!
7. Last time you washed your hair? Last night, I try to only wash it twice a week. I have thin fine hair, so it doesn’t get greasy or dirty quickly.

9. Something you’d like to do more of? Hiking. I live in the most beautiful place in the world and there are lots of hiking trails, I need to explore them.
1. Pudding or jello? Pudding. I liked jello, just not the thought of what’s in it. I ruined a Vegan’s day once in line at the grocers when we were swapping vegan recipes, and I noticed all the diet jello she had in her basket. She had NO clue what it was made out of.

Just now! I washed with FragFre Cleansing Conditioner for fine hair and followed with L’Oreal EverPure Simply Clean Conditioner and the matching Sheer Oil. Now I’m in bed with Hettie and Mabel (our new Newfoundland puppy). Jiji is not into Mabel yet so he’s not here.
8. Something you’d like to do less of?
Facebook !
Mabel is, however, a fan of cats. She met my cat nephews at my SIL’s house for my great niece’s first birthday and gave kisses to Remington and liked Steele as well. The littles were good with her too.
Thanks for putting the Sheer Oil on my radar. I’m going to grab a bottle on my next target run!
1. Pudding or jello?
Pudding for sure. Whipped cream helps.

Tula Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner. After about a month and a half of use, I can assert with some conviction that no resurfacing appears to have taken place.

Hi Mandy!
What retinol are you using these days? I have one from Avene which I like just fine, but I’m looking around to see if there’s another one that I like better.
Hope you manage to get in some exercise this week. I’m going to take a walk today to get some sunshine!

2. What’s the newest skin care product in your lineup? The Ordinary 5% caffeine serum. I cut out over half of my caffeine consumption some time ago and for the first time in my life, my undereyes are puffy. I’ve been using this for a few days and it seems to be working as advertised.

8. Something you’d like to do less of? Cook. The cafeteria at work closed early in the pandemic and won’t reopen and we aren’t eating indoors at restaurants, but I’m sick of having to plan and make most of the meals. I need to mentally justify spending a little more on takeout so I don’t go totally batshit.
