Hiya, and happy Thursday!
Yesterday I had two interviews lined up. I spent the entire day prepping and studying, so I’d feel extra prepared. I did full makeup and hair early, so I wouldn’t feel rushed (I even took test shots to double check everything, which is why I ended up with these pics).
I searched for “what to wear in a video interview for a creative job,” and then I tried various options in front of the camera to see what looked best. Side note: most wardrobe experts do not recommend wearing a white shirt, and after seeing various options on screen, I’d have to agree.
AND THEN…
…Both interviews got cancelled at the last minute. (The second one in the late afternoon was cancelled 10 minutes before it was supposed to start.)
On the bright side, both interviews were also rescheduled, which means the positions are still open — and I still have a chance.
Eh, at least my makeup and hair looked ok!

Needless to say, I was jumpy at the end of the day because of all the built-up adrenaline, so me, my full face of makeup and bouncy hair went to Sephora for some stress (de-stress?) shopping.
Lately the Novato store in my town rarely seems to have anything I actually want in stock, though. I ended up with just a Bumble & Bumble conditioner and a Tower 28 gloss.
I also had to stop by Target, which is next door, to buy some oat milk, so skin care landed in my cart: Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Body Lotion, good ol’ CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser and Naturium Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm.

It’s been a long week. Oh, and poor Connor still has a cold, so none of us have slept in days. Her immune system is certainly getting a workout this school year! (And so is mine.)
Seriously, I cannot wait for the weekend.
Anywho, thank you for listening. Hope that everything on your end has been smooth sailing.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Ugh that’s so annoying re: cancelled interviews but 🤞🤞 for the rescheduled interviews! I had a final round of interviews Tuesday for a position I started interviewing for before Christmas, and I’m in that place where I don’t have an answer yet and eeee anxiety.
Your look is so good though! I flat ironed my hair a little bit, made sure my glasses were clean. A not-too-dark liner and mascara, and the Benefit Floratint on my lips. This was definitely not a creative role though, LOL!
I hope Connor Claire starts to feel better soon.
I *totally* get it. It’s hard to be in the in0between place!
Good luck and I hope you make it to the next round.
Everything happens for a reason, Good Luck next time!
Thanks, Amalia. One of the rescheduled interviews is tomorrow. I’m feeling ready!
Oh to be so stressed about the interviews and then have them canceled?!! I see why you had to de-stress with shopping!
My Target had so much clearance skincare and makeup these last few weeks! It was fun to look through it but I tried not to buy too much. I’m trying to stick to a budget since I’m taking a bit of a pay cut when I start my new job!
Good for you for saving! When do you start your new job?
On February 6th! I’m nervous! I’ve been at my current job almost 9 years. Change is good! I hope!
Karen, you look beautiful as always, hope Connor fells better soon. Good luck on your interview tomorrow. Sending you good thoughts and a big hug from Las Vegas.
Actually, I also had an interview today, it was quite rough but ended up great. It’s for an upper position were I work. So fingers crossed next month I’m in the new position.
I love your look, I used Charlotte Tilbury Walk of no shame lipstick today for the interview. I find it’s a reddish nude, and I love it.
Good luck with both interviews, I’ll send you a lot of good luck.
Oh no, that is annoying to have the interviews cancelled so last minute. But you look lovely indeed.
I have the Versed Body balm, but still unopened do you know it already? Is it any good?
