I think it depends on the bang style. Like, if I ever did them again, I’d go with curtain bangs or some sort of fringe that could grow out easily without any drama.
Oh, and I would only do them if I could hop in my car and drive somewhere 10 minutes MAX for a bang trim. I’ve learned if it’s challenging in any way to get to the salon, then I might as well forget about upkeep.

I don’t think I do blunt bangs particularly well. My hair doesn’t naturally want to be flat in the front; I remember spending a lot of time corralling pieces so they’d go a particular direction. When I had blunt bangs, they ALWAYS wanted to go the opposite way, or fluff up in a manner in which did not please me. LOL!

Anywho, bangs. They’re on my mind these days because I’ve working on a hair project lately, and I’m also overdue for a haircut. I’m thinking the curtain bangs might need to come back again? I dunno. Decisions, decisions!

I do bangs really well because my hair is fine and flat – ideal! I give them a root lift when I blow-dry them and I trim them myself.
Actually, now I come to think of it, they’re the only bit of my hair that I do blow-dry because they MUST be right!
Plus, Bangs save money on forehead Botox…am I right??
I don’t do bangs that often, but I did try curtain bangs a few years ago. They were kind of cute, but I got tired of them. My hairdresser doesn’t think bangs are the best thing for me, because I have a small forehead (low hairline), so it kind of overwhelms my face. However, if I did grow my hair out longer, I might consider bangs again one day. I think it balances things out. By the way, I really like your hair in that bob style. Very cute!!
Of course I had the stiff, upright up bangs in the late 80’s that took forever and a can of hairspray to get right every morning before school. 😄
I would love to do curtain bangs because my forehead is a little on the big side, but I have a cowlick directly in the center of my hairline. It’s awful. My last hairdresser forbid any kind of bangs whatsoever because I always regretted it. I haven’t suggested it with my current hairdresser, but I think I know what she’d say, lol.
I try to resist bangs. They end up in my eyes, they require frequent trips to the hairdresser to maintain (I was traumatized by cutting my own bangs in third grade, so I don’t trust myself to trim them now) and for me they take forever to grow out.
I love the wavy hair and curtain bangs of 2021. Reminds me of Ruth Reichl.
I am envious of your gorgeous, full hair!
I have had bangs since toddler age (a looooong time). I cut them myself now, really not hard to do, even gave my 2yr old great niece her 1st bangs!
If you can check my insta @lauren.graba to see my bangs
Really like your look with curtain bangs and your 2015ish look.
Not well! I have a massive cowlick and some in between hair texture.
I wear wigs but I don’t typically choose bang styles. I prefer a center part or a swoop. But sometimes I want to look like Chrissie Hynde so once in a blue moon I choose a style with long, fringe bangs….but then the bangs irritate me and I switch out the wig before I get used to the bangs. It never fails…
I hate bangs on myself. I was traumatized by bangs as a young child…the pictures are definitely proof😬. My mom or my aunt would cut them. As soon as I was a teenager, I grew out my bangs and never looked back. I do like bangs on cosplay wigs! My family goes all out for Halloween and I have a many wigs that have bangs and look really cool. But wigs can lay perfect and have the perfect part…my real hair does not😜.
Like Lauren, I’ve worn bangs ever since I was a toddler. I cut my own and have mastered a number of bang styles over the years. I feel they’re a part of my identity. Once when I was in Nordstrom I over-heard one of the SA’s tell another, “Look! There’s the lady with the silver bangs.” The SA who was actually helping me laughed and said, “Eileen, they might not know your name, but they all know your hair.”
