Who wrote this headline, “Chicken Coop for the Soul?” LOL! It make me laugh so hard…
I saw quite a few chicken coops at the hardware store about a week ago. I’ve never raised chickens before, but for some reason I’m enamored with the idea of living on a small farm with a cute little chicken coop!
Ideally in this scenario I’d have help with feeding the chickens and cleaning up the poop, but something tells me if it happened in real life, I’d end up fully responsible for the whole kit and caboodle. So, mama’s gonna give the opportunity to raise chickens a HARD PASS. Ha ha ha!
Anywho, enough about chickens and happy Saturday to ya! What are you up to today? Hope you’ve got some fun plans that involve being outside.

The thought of having really fresh eggs thrills me. But I’m having a hard enough time finding a reliable cat sitter who can follow directions, let alone someone to take care of chickens when we travel.
Unless they’ve changed the formulation of Chanel No. 19, I don’t think of it as bitter. But I guess since it’s not a food sweet scent someone would think it’s bitter. To be honest I never liked gourmand scents.
Went for a walk this morning and spied a black cat across the street. I whipped out my phone to take a picture and while I was doing that she came over and entwined herself in my legs. She even started to climb up. Lol. Had a serious cat lady moment. She reminded me a lot of our dearly departed Nora. Have a wonderful Caturday!
I live in the city but our neighbors behind us have chickens. No rooster, not allowed, but there are eggs daily. I trade them fresh homemade bread and rolls for fresh eggs. They are SO good, I hate to use store-bought ones now.
You’re so lucky! We visited family in the Austrian countryside in March and were treated to fresh eggs daily. Such orange, tasty yolks!

I also loved her as Mary Magdelene in “Jesus Christ Superstar.” As for chicken coop for the soul (that is brilliant !) there are enough feral chickens here in Waikiki (and everywhere else!) to not need one. As long as they’re not perched in trees near our apartment (crowing on the hour starting at 3 a.m.) I’m happy to see them everywhere. Just wish I could collect their eggs! Hi Karen!! I love Chanel #19 too!! I’ve been wearing the eau de toilette since the Summer of 1986, when I was 19. I’m also thinking about getting the eau de parfum concentration, one of these days. Do you have the eau de parfum or the eau de toilette? Inquiring minds want to know.
I found out many years ago that it actually is legal to have backyard chickens in my city, but I couldn’t do that now, knowing that one or more bobcats prowl this area. I’d be nervous about even acquiring a puppy or small dog, with bobcats around. And this area is not forested or country-like in any way.
Oh, boy. We know several people who have backyard chickens. It’s a lot of work. I am very happy our village zoning doesn’t allow it because one of the boys LOVED chickens when he was little and was always asking for them. I will also say that we live a few miles from one of the top 35 egg producers in the country and the smell is distinctive in a terrible way. It makes you long for the smell of cow and horse manure! HAHA!
