So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. How many lip products do you typically carry with you: 1-2, 3-5 or 5+?
Lately, I’ve been pretty streamlined, so it’s usually one or two things – lipstick and a gloss!
2. What nail colors have you been into lately?
Pale opaque baby blues. Perhaps I’m having a mid-’90s nostalgia moment, ha! Remember that baby blue nail polish by Hard Candy? I couldn’t get enough of it.
3. Which would you rather do: an afternoon outdoor picnic or late night stargazing?
Afternoon picnic because I’m pretty sure I’d be too sleepy to stargaze late at night, hahaha!
4. Scrambled or sunny side up?
Both! But if it’s scrambled, I’ve got to be the one making the eggs. I’m weirdly picky about my scrambled eggs. If there even the tiniest bit overdone, I won’t have anything to do with them.
5. Something that you think is truly wonderful about spring?
Something I think is truly wonderful about spring is all of the songs of all the different birds I’ve been hearing in the morning. When the songs overlap, it sounds like I’m listening to a nature channel on Spotify. It reminds me that there’s always life around us.

Lately just two – a sample NARS lipstick and a clear lip balm of beeswax.
2. What nail colors have you been into lately? None in a long time – I just don’t make the time for it. But my preferred colors are turquoise blue, periwinkle blue, and sparkly red.
3. Which would you rather do: an afternoon outdoor picnic or late night stargazing?
I’d love to go stargazing but I’d have to drive about 450 miles west to do it – too much light pollution and clouds in my area.
4. Scrambled or sunny side up?
Scrambled, though lately I have taught myself to do American and French omelets. Not as hard to do as people make them out to be.
5. Something that you think is truly wonderful about spring?
Just how quickly everything grows – it’s amazing how these plants wake up and grow so fast (bearded iris season is already almost over here). Then you see most of the plants almost collapse as the heat rolls in in early May and blooming stops on roses (for example) for several months as they barely survive 90-110 degree temps for 3 – 5 months.
1. How many lip products do you typically carry with you: 1-2, 3-5 or 5+ I typically only carry Jack Black Lip Balm, but if I’m going to be out for several hours, I’ll also carry the lipstick du jour.
2. What nail colors have you been into lately? I like a translucent ivory.
3. Which would you rather do: an afternoon outdoor picnic or late night stargazing? I’ve always loved gazing up at the heavens and letting the stars stir my imagination.
4. Scrambled or sunny side up? I’m vegetarian and don’t eat eggs.
5. Something that you think is truly wonderful about spring? I love watching the gardens and hillsides come to life and seeing all the baby animals making an appearance.

2. What nail colors have you been into lately? Red on my toes
3. Which would you rather do: an afternoon outdoor picnic or late night stargazing? Afternoon picnic. I love the stars, but I also love to sleep.

5. Something that you think is truly wonderful about spring? Hummingbirds! I already have a few visiting my feeders.

3. Which would you rather do: an afternoon outdoor picnic or late night stargazing? Stargazing. A good reminder of how big our universe is and just how small we are. I’m struggling with an afternoon crash these days.

5. Something that you think is truly wonderful about spring? I agree with you about the birdsong. But also all the spring flowers in bloom. Wisteria, calla lilies, CA poppies, hyacinths, tulips!
