You’re probably gonna laugh with how haphazard I am with makeup these days, but it’s the best I can do with the time I have, so here it is: I use a twist-up, long wearing gel pencil (MAC Colour Excess) and draw a messy line on my upper lash line with no concern about the precision at all, LOL! If it’s too thick, then I smudge it out. If it’s too thin, then I figure the makeup goddesses wanted it to look that way, so I go with it. I don’t even bother trying to line my waterline, either. I usually layer eyeshadow on top of it anyway, so I’m not overly concerned. Seriously, THAT’S IT!

I usually just use eyeliner powder (or dark eyeshadow) on a brush. I have a problem with blinking when trying to use a pencil.
So good to see your post Karen, have been missing them. I just usual Laura Mercier cocoa eyeshadow stick as a liner. I can go light for casual look or heavy for more intense eye look.
I just do a simple brown or black line without a wing on the upper lid. And either leave the lower bare or line half of it with brown or black liner.
I’ve worn liner exactly once in the past month. Chanel Stylo Yeux. It was brown. Above my upper lashes. Smudged. No wing.
I took a small makeup bag (4x6x2) to Tokyo and I wore makeup exactly one day. That’s how I know I wore liner only once. I didn’t wear it out to dinner. I didn’t wear it grocery shopping. I didn’t wear it to any museums. I didn’t even wear it when I went shopping for skincare and sunscreen. I perused the fancy makeup counters but didn’t buy any. Bought two tubes of mascara at the drugstore to try.
I think I can live without liner, but still feeling the need for mascara and lip color.
I feel naked without eyeliner and mascara.
