So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. How often do you do meal prep for the week?
Very rarely. I do a super loose version or “meal prep” (air quotes) by cutting fruit and veggies on Sunday, and that’s about it. I tried making meals on Sundays a few times but then got sick of eating the same thing mid-week, so meal prep has never stuck.
2. Do you work out when you’re on vacation?
I try to! I bring my tennis shoes and a couple sets of clothes to exercise in, so that at the very least, I can go for a walk.
3. Is bronzer a daily thing for you?
Once upon a time, this was a hard yes. Love me some bronzer! I don’t wear it much these days, though, because I’ve been trying to get away with as little makeup as possible for like the last year or so. Now that I’m thinking about it, though, I might pop a little on after I’m done with this poll just for funsies. 🙂
4. A show that reminds you of after school time as a kid?
Weirdly enough, “Three’s Company.” It was always playing in the background when I got home.
5. A nice thing you did for yourself recently?
I made an effort for some “me” time on Saturday afternoon and finally got around to grooming my brows, which had been unruly for weeks (um, maybe months, if I’m being 100% honest). I also joined a gym last week and went swimming a couple times, which felt great.

1. How often do you do meal prep for the week?
I meal prep for my husband’s lunches for at least a few days worth on Sunday. Usually like hamburger helper (with added veggies) or sphagetti or something. I try to have a least a vague idea of what I’m having for the week. This week it’s bruschetta with fresh garden tomatoes and basil with mozzarella!
2. Do you work out when you’re on vacation? Nope!
3. Is bronzer a daily thing for you?
Almost – trying to use up a charlotte tilbury one.
4. A show that reminds you of after school time as a kid?
The Wonder Years.
5. A nice thing you did for yourself recently?
Husband was gone most of the weekend so when he got home yesterday at noon, I took the afternoon for myself! Went to an estate sale, a couple thrift stores, and to a play with my mom!
1. How often do you do meal prep for the week?
I don’t really do it at all. It’s just me, so I have a general idea of what I’ll eat during the week based on what I have in the refrigerator, and what restaurant specials I can take advantage of, but that’s about it.
2. Do you work out when you’re on vacation?
No – and I haven’t had a real vacation since 1984 – and I had to walk so much at the Olympic events (only tw0) I went to, I think that counted as exercise. I had work trips in 2006, 2009, and 2010, but no time or energy for exercise on those.
3. Is bronzer a daily thing for you?
No. I’m too pale – I have to have a VERY light hand on stuff like that or I’d look like I smeared dirt on my face.
4. A show that reminds you of after school time as a kid?
Not sure. When my family moved to a new city in 1973 the UHF station ran a generic cartoon show my younger brother and I watched. The same channel ran a faith healer (con man) [who later became very famous and rich] on their prime time schedule. My brother and I mocked his nonsense, but he died very old and rich (and an evil political force). As time went on, I think I had to spend most of my afterschool time on homework, instrument practice, and taking care of the family dog, rather than watching TV.
5. A nice thing you did for yourself recently?
I’m trying to consume less caffeine after 4:00 PM so I can hopefully improve my sleep.
1. How often do you do meal prep for the week? Usually Mondays’ as I have some volunteer work that goes later in the evening Tues – Thursday (days vary) and do something in the crockpot That way I can grab a quick bite and my husband can have a nice dinner.
2. Do you work out when you’re on vacation? I cared for elderly parents for 21 years, until they moved to assisted living, and then I flew back and forth to Washington every other month to check on them. I haven’t had a vacation since the 90s. 🙂 though we did have some really fun visits before they passed (Dad lived to be 102)
3. Is bronzer a daily thing for you? As pale as I am, with red hair, bronzer is NOT a good look on me. I have blue undertones, unlike most natural redheads.
4. A show that reminds you of after school time as a kid? We never watched TV after school, we were running all over the neighborhood playing with our friends.
5. A nice thing you did for yourself recently? Bought a piece of handcrafted silver jewelry with a moonstone from ZenLemon Art in Skagway Alaska. She does beautiful, often water and nature themed, jewelry.
1. How often do you do meal prep for the week?
Rarely. Sometimes I make a pasta dish that turns into enough leftovers for several meals, but it’s never a conscious choice.
2. Do you work out when you’re on vacation?
I used to avail myself of the hotel gym, if there was one, but never put much energy into it. Also, walking around sightseeing should count for something.
3. Is bronzer a daily thing for you?
Nope. I’m very pale so don’t want to bother with whatever blending drama a bronzer might entail.
4. A show that reminds you of after school time as a kid?
I used to rush home after school to watch Battle of the Planets.
5. A nice thing you did for yourself recently?
Kept up with my home exercises for physical therapy.
1. How often do you do meal prep for the week? My husband usually does the meal prep😁. We freeze wraps to throw in the airfryer during the school/work week.
2. Do you work out when you’re on vacation? We usually visit family on our “vacations”…so no
3. Is bronzer a daily thing for you? Yes…MAC Give me Sun everyday. I feel naked without it.
4. A show that reminds you of after school time as a kid? Not after school….but remember TGIF? Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Full House
5. A nice thing you did for yourself recently? Watched a silly comedy series on Netflix by myself. Got back on the elliptical.
