So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Something you do to help make your makeup routine a little easier when you’re getting ready?
I keep a small bag within my regular makeup bag filled with the barest of the bare essentials. Now that I see that in writing it seems a little crazy, LOL! But yeah, having a super pared down mini bag helps a ton. Inside it I have brow pencil, mascara, undereye concealer and a cream blush that doubles as a lipstick.
2. When it’s rainy outside, how do you typically do your hair?
I don’t even bother, really. I run a brush through it and throw it in a bun or a ponytail.
3. What’s your favorite fall lip color?
Matte red, baby!
4. What’s the newest thing in your makeup bag?
I bought a waterproof mascara by Maybelline that’s $5 on the recommendation of a tv/red carpet makeup artist who said she’d been using it for years. We’ll see if it’s any good!
5. Something you love about fall beauty?
Dark, short, shiny nails. I think they look chic!

Nothing special. I keep what I’m using in the bathroom medicine cabinet, so it’s easy to find.
2. When it’s rainy outside, how do you typically do your hair?
No different than usual. I almost never use hairspray because I hate the buildup and feeling of hairspray. I just use an umbrella (if it’s not too windy – and it’s almost always too windy for an umbrella here) or wear a jacket with a hood to keep the rain off my hair.
3. What’s your favorite fall lip color?
Cool-tone red. I can’t wear warm lip colors.
4. What’s the newest thing in your makeup bag?
I just splurged on the Hourglass Deer palette (I had $30 in gift cards plus a $10 coupon, so the cost, in the end, wasn’t insane). This is my first Hourglass purchase.
5. Something you love about fall beauty?
Not much, really, because of the emphasis on warm tones. I don’t look good in them. I do like sparkly red nail polish.

Generally have clean makeup brushes and beauty blenders on hand.
2. When it’s rainy outside, how do you typically do your hair?
How I would do it any other day when it’s not rainy, i.e., pulled back in a bun and tamed with either hair pins or gel.

Nothing in particular but I’d do a more prominent lip as opposed to just bare lips with gloss or tinted lip balm

Don’t think there’s anything new in there, really

Bold lips

Keep it simple. Sunscreen is the only must, and if I want to feel like my blonde lashes are visible I’ll use some mascara. Powder foundation might hit the T-zone, the entire face, or sit untouched. Lip products, if I remember them, go on in the car.
2. When it’s rainy outside, how do you typically do your hair?
Up in a ponytail.
3. What’s your favorite fall lip color?
Burgundy.
4. What’s the newest thing in your makeup bag?
Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Stick Eye Shadow trio in Rose Meringue, Strapless and Wild Rose. I’ve yet to use them, though.
5. Something you love about fall beauty?
The autumnal colors — reds, rusts, mustards, burgundies.
1. Something you do to help make your makeup routine a little easier when you’re getting ready? I keep my “daily” makeup in a caboodle and occasionally swap out blushes or shadow colors.
2. When it’s rainy outside, how do you typically do your hair? Wavy/Curly…my natural. If I try to straighten it in rainy weather…my hair rebels.

4. What’s the newest thing in your makeup bag? I am on a no-buy right now. I have not purchased any new makeup since May 😐. I will probably purchase a few items during Black Friday sales.
5. Something you love about fall beauty? The reds and plums for makeup. But my favorite thing is fall clothes. I love sweater weather❤️!
Boy, am I late coming to this game! But, here goes:
1. Something you do to help make your makeup routine a little easier when you’re getting ready? I keep my products grouped by type and in separate drawers. A place for everything and everything in its place.
2. When it’s rainy outside, how do you typically do your hair? Rain or shine, my hair is perfectly straight so I just do what I’d normally do as my hair is not affected by increased humidity.
3. What’s your favorite fall lip color? I love mid-tone berry colors.
4. What’s the newest thing in your makeup bag? There are two new items that I bought at the same time—Chanel Nuit Astrale and Dior Plum Parade. I love cool tones and I think both Chanel and Dior knocked it out of the park.
5. Something you love about fall beauty? When I think of fall beauty, I don’t think of cosmetics or fashion. I think about nature. I love the trees ever changing kaleidoscope of colors with every day bringing a new look; a new beauty. I also love the weather. It’s crisp and cool morning and night, but the days are warm and sunny.
