So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Something you need to do for beauty maintenance soon?
Oh boy, my upper lip could use a wax. LOL! If I let it go much further, I’m going to look like a bad guy with a twirly mustache.
2. Something nice that’s beauty-related that you’ve done for yourself recently?
About a month ago, a friend of mine and I went to the Cavallo Point spa in Sausalito. I can’t wait to go back!
3. What’s a word that you like?
Honestly, I have so many. Off the top of my head: jaunt, effervescent, soliloquy.
4. What’s a funny little habit that your pet has?
When Rosie sleeps, she snores loudly. (It wakes me up sometimes.) Marnie likes to bring her favorite tennis ball outside; she doesn’t actually want to play fetch, though. She’ll just carry it and run around.
5. What’s the best Thanksgiving side dish?
Does pecan pie count? Because that’s all I’m interested in, hahaha! If it doesn’t, then I’ll go with mashed potatoes.

Color my hair – but I can’t do it due to a broken arm.

My late Sheltie had some funny vocalizations (typical of Shelties).
Other than that, he was a typical dog.

Don’t care for the traditional ones. I prefer mac & cheese, white rice, French fries, baked potatoes, corn on the cob.

Get my bangs trimmed. They, too, look like a villain’s mustache.
2. Something nice that’s beauty-related that you’ve done for yourself recently?
Ordered some holiday skincare kits from Target. I’m looking forward to trying some new brands.

4. What’s a funny little habit that your pet has?
Years ago I had two dogs, Radar (Border Collie mix) and Bear (retriever mix). Bear had been adopted when he was up there in doggy years, and he didn’t know how to play. Radar was rather a roguish girl and took care of that. She would feint and dodge and if Bear didn’t join in, Radar would just take her paw and smack him upside the head. Rae would also throw herself on her back and punch all four legs in the air for a solid 5 minutes of wiggling. This looked comical, so I would exclaim “Wiggles!” Bear then thought it was his solemn duty to wiggle as well, so he’d plop down on the floor next to Radar and we’d have two ridiculous dogs doing synchronized wiggling with their crazy dog mom singing “Wiggles! Wiggles!”

Stuffing.

Put a face mask on. I’d been putting it off for weeks

Corn bread
1. Something you need to do for beauty maintenance soon? Get to the derm for an all over spot check.
2. Something nice that’s beauty-related that you’ve done for yourself recently? Splurged on some RMK color cosmetics in Japan.
3. What’s a word that you like? They’re all in different languages. Aigoo in Korean, which expresses surprise or frustration/exasperation or sympathy/concern. In Japanese “shoganai” meaning it can’t be helped or “it is what it is”, “Kuchi sabishii” meaning lonely mouth or when you eat when you’re not hungry, “Komorebi” the shimmering of light and shadows created by leaves swaying in the wind.
4. What’s a funny little habit that your pet has? No more pets, Nibbler crossed the rainbow bridge in early October after 18 wonderful years with us. But she used to dangle from high places. She’d sit someplace high but let her front legs and body hand down. I was always afraid she’d slip and fall.
5. What’s the best Thanksgiving side dish? In our house it’s potatoes au gratin.
