Rouge Coco lipsticks from left: Perle, Chintz and Taffetas Rose
I know it’s wrong and crazy, but it’s taking all of my willpower to resist painting Tabs’ claws with Chanel Riva Nail Colour.
And it’s a good thing cats don’t have lips…because if they did Tabs would already be wearing one of the four Rouge Coco Hydrating Lip Colours from the new Cote D’Azur Collection. 🙂
Despite the season, the small five-piece release (four lipsticks and the one polish) is actually a resort collection for Chanel, which explains why it feels so beachy and tropical.
Here are swatches of three of the four shades (I’m missing coral Sari Doré), Taffetas Rose (a shimmery magenta), Perle (a shimmery pinkish golden beige) and Chintz (a shimmery pinkish coral). All of them have the same smooth, moisturizing texture and plush pigments that define the Rouge Coco lipstick line.
Have we met before?
You might remember Perle. She was also one of the original Rouge Coco launch lipsticks early this year, and Chintz debuted with the stunning Chanel Les Contrastes de Chanel Collection in fall.

What is wrong with me that I have a driving need to purchase every lipstick that comes out in that pinky neutral/pinky nude family? Chintz is making me drool…..and I don’t have a single chanel lippie. I hate to think what my Roth IRA could look like if I gave up hoarding lipstick, lol.

If you like pinky nudes Chintz or Perle would be a great place to start. They’re expensive, but you can wear them *every day*!
I think Perle looks great! Call me crazy, but I’m getting into the holiday spirit so I’m not the least bit tempted by the resort colors right now (beautiful as they may be!). As for making Tabs over, I think I heard him mumbling “thank the kitty gods for photoshop”. 🙂

Speaking of the holiday spirit, it sure is starting early this year. I was driving the other day and turned to the “light rock, less talk!” radio station — which usually plays Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving — and Jingle Bells was already on! I hate to sound like a grumpasaurus, but I feel like we’re soon gonna be celebrating Christmas in September!
I agree – some people in our area were putting out decorations/lights last weekend. We still have a pumpkin on our porch! I really can’t get too Christmassy until after Thanksgiving myself, but I think retailers are ready to try anything to boost sales. I’m not sure what those radio stations are thinking, though! 🙂
This is only slightly related, but have you seen Love, Actually? I think of it every time I hear “All I want for Christmas is you”. Such a great movie!

Are you guys far from the beach? My parents once talked about moving to Texas and I was like, um, you can move to Galveston so I can go surfing when I visit!

I believe that’s where they were thinking of moving — Corpus Christi. They have friends there! I don’t know if they’ll ever leave the Bay Area though.

Ooooh I like all of those, I already own Perle which I love! But I am really drawn to Taffetas Rose and I don’t normally go for colours that are that dark. Chintz is pretty and perfect for daytime. I love the Rouge Coco formula, it’s the most moisturising lipstick I have ever tried. My current fave is Camellia its really pretty.
Me too! I am usually more of a brighter pink kinda girl, but this one really speaks to me. I bet it would look pretty with cat eyeliner.

He, he, if you want to ‘paint’ Tabs claws take a look at Softpaws.com. They’re covers for cat’s claws that replace declawing but they come in all sorts of colour, so if you’re tempted to paint his claws that could be your solution 🙂

Yeah, I agree that most cat’s would probably not appreciate the gesture, but it’s cruelty-free and better than declawing. We’re getting a new cat who isn’t declawed but Rooster is, so we might have to get SoftPaws if he fights with Rooster.

I just bought the Soho collection (glossimer, lippie, laque and shadow quad) I’m loving the quad & glossimer so far. debating on the lippie still. I can’t WAIT ’til the Spring line comes out….have you seen pics yet?

Taffetas Rose is also one of the Rouge Cocos from the original release. I think the coral one is actually the only “new” color.
I picked up Taffetas Rose several weeks ago during a Chanel master’s class at Nordies. Love it — such a gorgeous color. I love Chanel lippies, but they’re so often very “wearable” instead of bright, and one can only have so many wearable light shades! 😉
So pretty. My Chanel lemmings are not good for my wallet lol.
