I asked the bartender at the Moss Room Restaurant the same question. Unfortunately they don’t sell them there. 🙁 He said they buy them for the restaurant from a Japanese website and I can’t remember the name.

I work at a museum of natural history here in Michigan! And I worked at the Field Museum in Chicago, briefly at the American Museum in NY, at the Smithsonian museum of natural history in Washington, at UC Berkeley and for a month at the one in London!…and for many years at the museum of natural history in Lima, PERU. Aren’t they great?????!!!!!!!!!
What is a bit sad though is the fact that people don’t know of all the research that is done behind the scenes, and that what you see in the exhibit is ONLY a tiny part of what the museums have.
Museums are extremely important, they are libraries of diversity and they hold records of already extinct species (e.g. dodo or moas), and if we continue being reckless with the environment, future generations will know species only from museum’s records ;(…this is happening already…believe me it is sadly true.
I need to visit this one…

I was fortunate enough to take the VIP tour at the California Academy of Sciences two weeks ago. We are so fortunate to have this gem in our backyard! Btw- the seahorses ROCK!!

DC has a pretty good natural history museum. I went last year to catch up on it, and it was a lot of fun! I should go back again…

These pics are awesome! 🙂 No, sadly our nature viewing is confined to walking in the woods or sticking our heads in the lake! We did bring the kids to the New England Aquarium in Boston this summer, though. It’s a neat place and they have the 3 story tank as well. And penguins, which are so cute but so stinky. 🙂
I saw a documentation about building this museum on TV! Simply stunning! I was in Barcelona this summer and there is a museum called “Cosmo Caixa” which also has a rainforest – but a smaller one. I love museums – tons of knowledge and precious things under one small roof (in relation)! Fascinating!
