Sooo, guess who’s procrastinating? 🙂 Yeah, I have about a billion things on my to-do list, but none of them are as much fun as makeup.
I put the new Clarins Neo Pastels Collection to work today for this here face of the day.

Clockwise from the lipstick on the left: Rouge Hydra Nude SPF6 Lipstick in 03 Pastel Beige, Blush Prodige in 02 Soft Peach and the Eye Quartet Mineral Palette
I loosely based the eye portion of the look on the Neo Pastel makeup tutorial here, and the edgy look of the black liner along the waterline is one of my favorite parts.

Some of the products I used…
-
Eye Quartet Mineral Palette — Their shiny finish makes these dramatic and fun, but I observed some patchiness from both of the purple shadows (but not as much as the pastel quad in the Dolce & Gabbana Secret Garden Collection).
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+ - Blush Prodige in 02 Soft Peach — I blended all four of the powders in this sheer peach together but had to apply four layers to reach the level of pigmentation I wanted. The matte finish contains just a touch of sheen that I feel looks very natural on my skin.
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B - Rouge Hydra Nude SPF6 Lipstick in 03 Pastel Beige — Mmm…this sheer, moisturizing lipstick smells and tastes like brown sugar. I love the light shine, too, and light-as-a-feather texture, but I would have liked a little more pigment.
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B

Although I tend to prefer brighter colors on my cheeks and lips, I like how the subtle colors and finishes work here with the bolder eye look. I’m sure this is something I’ll wear again, maybe out to dinner with the girls.

Monday, Monday…
Yes! Looks like we got Monday out of the way, and I hope yours wasn’t too shabby, tabby.
Right now I’m heading out to grab a fro-yo because I’m totally eating my feelings today. To justify my decision, I plan to load it up with fruit and tell myself that I did it for fiber.
Yes, I realize that’s lame. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Lovin’ the FOTD. The lilac shadow just looks so fresh and very on-trend with this season’s pastels!
the eyeshadow palette looks pretty!
gorgeous FOTD, karen 🙂
Well that’s better than what I did by eating orange flavoured chocolate-that’s definitely not real fruit lol!
You look gorgeous in purple Karen!
Sooooo pretty *-* Purple is awesome on you <3
I had Tuttimelon today as well. High five!
You look great as always.
I love the eye look. So gorgeous! You are making me poor. 🙂 Thanks so much.
Oh wow you look gorgeous! Love the hat!
Great look… love those purples!
I get froyo all the time and tell myself the probiotics make it a healthy snack. And then I load up with frozen fruit. EVERYTHING. Yum.
Hey, at least it’s fiber, right?
Ooooh pretty FOTD! I like how it’s a bold eye look but not in any way, smokey. Perfect for spring 🙂
Thanks, Ashley! Hope you’re having a great Tuesday.
The purple gives just the right pop of color to your pretty face!!
Aw, thanks Jen. Do you think you might pick this palette up?
The purple looks great on you Karen.
Eating your feelings…. I had never heard that expression before and yet it makes total sense! Definitely been there!
I tend to gravitate to sweets when I’m feeling stressed (at least this way I’m feeling like I’m getting a little bit of a health benefit with the fruit).
How about you? Are you a sugar person too?
Love the look, purples look beautiful on you! 🙂
Thanks, Gio!
you look great! love the purple – very springy!
Thanks, babe! 🙂 I think we should just fast forward to spring already.
You are definitely ready for spring! I agree about the cheek and lip color; they’re subtle but look really nice with the bolder eye. And is that Panthera mascara? Look, I made a rhyme. 🙂
I say as long as you get your fruit, you’re making a healthy food choice! Then again, I call a bowl of cheese, pepperoni, ranch dressing and croutons on a piece of lettuce a salad, so maybe don’t listen to me.
I’m wearing Dolce & Gabbana Mascara in these pics. I had a tube and sorta “rediscovered” my love for it recently.
Speaking of mascara, is your YSL Faux Cils still giving you trubs?
As for your salad… hey, you ARE getting some fiber with the lettuce.
Oh, cool – it looks really good!
I heated the heck out of the tube (so I had to hold it with a towel) and that definitely helped a lot. After a couple of days, I realized that I was just getting down to the end and had to let go. 🙁 I’ve moved on to the Hypnose but it’s at its new, wet stage, so I’m adjusting. Mine tends to thicken up to perfection at around month #2. 🙂
Thanks for the fiber support! We gals need to stick together on our food issues. 🙂
i <3 that eyeshadow palette — its so spring/summery and its just the right amount of pigment on it!
Does this mean your Clarins palette is gonna get a friend soon?
yes, i believe so! 🙂
I really like this – I have the same skin tone & would never think to choose this colors for myself….very nice! thanks for the inspiration – I guess I shouldn’t be afraid of color! I’ll give my own readers @ http://intheclotheset.com/ the same advice!
Go for it Jenina! I bet you’ll look great in purples. 🙂
OMG that purple is gorgeous! And I love the blush for the appearance in the pan. I’ve never tried Clarins but today I might go have some play time at the counter. O:) Honestly, $40 isn’t that made for that palette!
Hahhaha and I totally use the “but it’s healthy!” excuse for froyo =D
It’s a good excuse, especially if you load up on the fruit. It’s all about the fiber! 😉
That purple colour looks great on you!
Thanks! 🙂
they look amazing on you. how did you get started publishing on glam media? did you have a different blog site before this?
are you looking for guest bloggers at the moment?
Very cute eye make up! 🙂 awesome!
