Good morning, glory. 🙂 I hope your day got off to a wonderful start. I’m slowly waking up out here. Got my big Christmas mug filled with coffee in my paws, so that should do the trick. It’s a little chilly and overcast now, but it looks like the kind of gray that usually burns off by the afternoon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
I can’t recall having anything I’m supposed to do this weekend…at least nothing I can remember now, and that’s perfectly fine by me. Really, I’d just like to relax, maybe go to a late breakfast at Marvin’s, vacuum the house — correction, I’d like Tabs to vacuum the house, seeing as it’s his fur that gets all over the place — and maybe catch up on my reading and brainless TV.
Brainless TV. Ya know, nowadays, that’s my favorite kind. It’s comforting and easy to digest, like good porridge.
Of course, I just thought of a show that I’m looking forward to watching that doesn’t fit into the brainless TV category at all. It’s called Torchwood. Have you seen it? It’s sort of like the X-Files, Angel and Dr. Who all rolled into one. I loved the first few seasons when it was on BBC America. It’s been on a long hiatus, but it’s back again with a new season, and now it’s on Starz and takes place in LA (I believe). I missed the first episode last Friday. Gotta try and track that down…
Anywho, I’m going to plant myself on the couch for a few minutes, but I’ll be back soon.

This weekend will be spent with family, doing a little bit of cleaning, and running errands. One of the areas I need to clean is my makeup area. I don’t have a vanity table so I have to use my dresser and my IKEA Alex 9 drawer unit, where I store my makeup, as my makeup area. Both are in need of a little cleaning/organizing.
I think my mother and I deserve a new parfum. 🙂

I would love to go camping- my boyfriend adores it, but due to my mild OCD and hypochondria it’s difficult for me because I constantly have to keep “clean”. I’m working on it though, and hope to be able to go camping with him one day! 🙂 My OCD and hypochondria is up to the point where all my makeup and makeup brushes are cleaned and disinfected at least twice a week, every day if I could hahaha! On the plus side, it means I love my stuff 😀

I was a “cowgirl” for a few summers when I was a teenager. Cows are very smart you know…. For example: Every “crack of dawn” and every evening I would walk up the hills or to the heyfield and herd the cows to the cowshed and usually they only had to see me to know what to do; walk to the cowshed. Well, one day I was in exceptionally grouchy mood, stomped to the fields towards the cows, expecting them to move as soon as they laid eyes on me. Oh, they saw me alright…. and they did.not.lift.a.hoof. Just looked at my with those big lazy we-know-you´re-in-a-bad-mood-and-we-soooo-cannot-be-bothered- eyes. After 30 min or so of eye scratching teenager tantrum, my boss, the farmer, came and relieved my of my duties….. And of course, OF COURSE the frigging, and might I add, SMUG, cows moved their lazy a** as soon as the farmer showed his face!

It’s funny you said camping as I was just talking to my boyfriend about it the other day. I of course did the requisite Girl Scout camping when I was younger (and hated it) Now that I’m grown, though, I realize I come from a long line of females to which camping means spending a night in a hotel. Favorite female character….I’d have to think about that. You know there really aren’t many female characters that strike me as entertaining as many male characters. Maybe we need a good female anti-hero full of vices, snappy one-liners, and a metric ton of badassery. Mostly they just end up cheesily falling for some guy or just being a stereotype.

My favorite nail polish is OPI Siberian Nights. It’s a dark purple that looks almost black but it’s more flattering than black on my ultra-pale skin!
I love camping. I prefer the type of camping where you hike to location, not back up your car and pull out a tent and cooler. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to go; it used to be me, the hub, and one dog, and all three of us would hike. Now we’ve got two dogs and a two year old, and one bad back and one fussy knee.
I am wanting more of those Sephora jumbo, 12-hour wear, waterproof liners. I’m absolutely loving them, and they’re half the price as the UD version! I bought one in black and it wings out very nicely and lasts just as well as UD’s. I’m wanting 15 purple, 09 khaki and 07 brown. I don’t think their brown is going to be as nice as UD’s Wasteland, but it’s worth a shot!

I have worked on a farm! I used to ride at this horse barn, and I mucked stalls for free lessons. It’s not really a glamorous first job, but hey, for free riding lessons, it was certainly worth it!

my very favorite np brand in the world is Rescue Beauty Lounge, although I’ll be honest and tell you I really didn’t feel the newest collection unveiled this week. My favorites from them are their 1-2 coat cremes like Teal and Grunge (amazing AMAZING pedi for deeper toned ladies like you and I) and for some reason their treatment system plays with my chemistry really well. If you have none of them, I’d like to you dip your toe into their collection with Grunge, 360 (if you ever find it! gah!), and Coral (eye searing pinky coral that makes men stop in their tracks and grab my hand. Well, maybe you don’t want that…).

I’ve bought two so far, Gilty Pleasure & Fairy Teal, & they last for several days without chipping. Plus, I love the fact that I don’t need to bother w/base & top coats. When I do, I always end up w/tons of air bubbles. I can’t wait to add more colors to my collection! Enjoy your Saturday!

My favorite nail polishes in the world are Galaxy Girl, Lunar Eclipse and Space Cadet from the ORLY Galaxy FX collection and have been ever since they came out! I’m a sucker for sparkly multi-chromes.

I love camping! every summer, my boyfriend and I take along a little 6X6 tent and set it up in random places we find. One time we set it upon the side of this little dirtbiking trail, on the bank of a river. It was the perfect place, except unfortunately we had no idea it was on a farmers property and were awakened to the sound of his tractor passing by our tent.
I love Zoya nail polishes. They used to be really hard to find, but my local Whole Foods just started carrying them. Today I’m wearing Zoya’s Phoebe, which is a matte turquoise.
My favorite np is OPI Overexposed on South Beach 🙂

I just woke up because of me having a movie all nighter last nite… I watched a bunch of old movies.
I’ve done farm and ranch work. Not regularly but my family had a far and my boyfriends grandparents own a ranch so anytime you visit helping out is in the description.

I can’t think of any answers to your random questions today, so I’ll just talk about today. Part of the reason I can’t think is because I went grocery shopping and that always kills me. Today it almost literally did, because I got hit by one of those carts with the toy car on the front for kids. It just hit my in the middle of the calf, so it didn’t hurt, but it made my knee want to go out and when I tried to get my balance, my other leg didn’t want to cooperate, so I almost fell on the floor. Plus, it scared the crap out of me, so I “eeped” like a little girl. Now I’m hurting, because I must have twisted a few muscles trying not to fall.
After that, I got my groceries home, took mom to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and to satisfy this cinnamon roll craving I’ve been having. We were not impressed, but then we went to Michael’s and craft geeked out on stuff. 😀
I am obsessed with Chanel right now. Their fall collection is INSANE! I am loving peridot and quartz nail polish. Guerlain was my summer obsession. Makeup just drives me crazy! I can’t get enough!!!

i realize every time i write a comment, i have bought some make up item a few hours before…
yesterday, i had an appointment at sephora to get my make up done, it was a pin up look with pink lips instead of red. i loved it so much that i had to buy the lipstick, sephora R10. its a fuchsia-pink lipstick, but i find it has a red tone to it, in my lips in pictures it can look as a bright red, in real life you can see its not. so my hunger for a neon pink lipstick begun. since theres no nars counter in my city, i couldnt get nars schiap, so today i went for the closest dupe i could find, after hours surfing on the internet. and that was mufe #36. i cant wait to wear it!!! i hope my pigmented lips dont wash the neon tone and end up with just another pink lipstick!
i would love to know how mufe #36 compares to nars schiap…do i need to own both? or are they similar and i can live without schiap? please, share your thoughts!

The weather was gorgeous here today, sunny, warm, and no humidity! Hubs and I went downtown (Ottawa, Canada), and walked around the market for a couple of hours.
When we got home, we treated ourselves to at home pedicures using LUSH Volcano, and Fair Trade Foot Lotion. He didn’t really want to, but now he keeps saying how good his feet feel! 😉

I just got back from a four day camping trip but it rained the whole time! We couldn’t have a campfire or smores because it was so wet.
Haha, have never worked on a ranch or a farm, but one of the schools I’ve attended was splat in the middle of a dairy farm complete with 120 cows! I remember during one of the school’s (mandatory!) cross country races, we had to run behind the milking shed. We were ankle deep on cow poop! Argh! But back then, it was a lot of fun! 🙂

I don’t watch Doctor Who or Torchwood, but I know of both… I know that Torchwood is a spin-off of Doctor Who… and then one day someone told me that Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who and I just had this look of astonishment on my face. Half an hour later the conversation had gone in a completely different direction and I still had to blurt out, “That’s SO incredible!”

I love Torchwood! I just got into Torchwood and Dr. Who (love his energetic, spontaneous, genius and crazy behavior) a couple of months ago. I was so sad last season’s Torchwood’s finale. I will miss Lanto and Captain Jack together. Breaking Bad is also an awesome show you should check it out , if you haven’t already. Although it’s a pretty dark drama and not so Sci-Fi as Torchwood and Dr. Who.

I’ve slept for one hour. My feet are ice cold and numb. I have neuropathy and some times it’s very bad. Today is one of them. I’ve been up all night being ice cold then hot. I hate camping! More specifically, I hate living in a tent. I’m not a very high maintenance girl. I can stay in a cabin in the middle of the woods without electricity, phone, TV, internet, air-conditioning, beauty products, etc… but I am just not happy without a shower, toilet, and a real bed.
I cut my finger with chocolate wrapper today 🙁
I have been wanting to go camping so bad this year….we pitched a tent for my son in our side yard the other day and had s’mores inside…..might be the closest I get to camping this year!

My current favorite nail polish is CND’s Shellac. I am really loving it. I tried OPI’s Axxium last year but it completely destroyed my nails in about 3 months. It was not quite as bad as acrylic nails, but I did have to keep them short for about a year while the damaged parts grew out. The Shellac doesnt seem to be damaging them the way Axxium did.
Although you need to make sure to get it done at a reputable place! My normal spa was booked up one week when I wanted to my nails done because a girl was on vacation. I ended up going to one of those cheaper nail places and they did not do it properly and filed my nails down so much there was some permanent damage. My bad!

Oh, Iong to be an outdoor girl who’s brave enough to camp! I have lofty dreams of camping in Yellowstone or Yosemite with my husband and three boys. We’ve even considered camping in our home state of Florida, but I am scared to death of snakes, alligators, and ticks…yikes!! I think I’d be a terrific camper in a $500,000 motor home, LOL, but my hubby’s idea of camping, which he did frequently as a boy, is sleeping on the ground (albeit on a blow up mattress) in a tent. The horrors!! A critter might crawl in or a bear might turn me into a human burrito! I’m such an indoor “princess”, it may take a little more convincing and compromising before I can give the great outdoors a try!

camping? i miss it so much!!!!! we use to go every year with a big group (friends of the family) and at some point i started bringing my cousin with me. it was so much fun. fishing. mini golf. pools. bingo-i won one year 🙂 pancake breakfasts. bead making. waterballoon fights. campfires. wed switch the location every few years and one had an arcade room and another had an amusmentpark nearby (aka western pictures lol). and then we just stopped one year, i guess too much money for everyone 🙁 ahhh the good ol’ days
also, we started with tents and then moved to trailers one year- those things are so adorable! little tiny houses 🙂
