Christmas is coming fast, gah! This weekend is go-time for me; no question about it. On my list today: to get a tree, put up some lights, and catch up on the Christmas shopping I promised myself I’d be finished with by now.
Yup, don’t ya just love the holiday crunch? — that pressure to get into the spirit before it’s too late to really enjoy? It’s yet another strange facet of life, having to hurry up to relax, LOL!
I am really looking forward to getting a tree, though, a small one just a few feet tall, and filling the house with that wonderful pine scent. And then Tabs and I can decorate it this afternoon with some ornaments that have been in our family for years.

New years resolutions: many, but main ones are to run a four hour marathon (I currently run a five hour + marathon) and lose weight so i can run faster. (yup, i am one of those, running does not help me lose weight, it’s all about diet for me)

I actually started making a list of my New Year’s Resolutions! What I have so far is to donate blood 6 times, be more gentle and consistent with my skin care, work out more and be more healthy, make time to read more novels, and enjoy my last year in college.

Our tradition every year has been to get the kids in the car when it gets dark and drive around looking at Christmas decorations. They absolutely love it and so do we.
Yesterday I wore pink, blue, and silver eyeshadow… with bright fuschia lips. I like wearing dramatic makeup any time I feel like it, not just for special occasions.
I find myself eating a lot more hot soup this time of year…

went last night with my dad to his sunday school christmas dinner (my mom was sick). wore huge black winged liner with even huger black lashes (the love alpha two-step mascara is my go-to for false looking lashes). it was a hit! i got some really nice comments 🙂 thanks karen and happy holidays!
My favorite holiday tradition is waking up really early on Christmas day, having a hot cup of coffee and cinnamon roll while we all open our presents! Then play with our presents while watching a holiday movie and then help mamma cook in the kitchen 😀 I can’t wait for Christmas!!

Putting up the tree today!
The last time I got all dressed up and fancy was last year at my highschool prom! I went all out; I bought self tanner just for the occasion, my hair was volumized and curly, and I had gorgeous black smoky eyes! I also went a little crazy with the highlighter. I used Benefit’s High Beam to highlight my cheek bones, and even used it on my legs and collarbone! Even though the dance wasn’t all that great and my date had me sit alone in the backseat, I know I looked pretty good!
I think I might have to give in and buy Buble’s xmas cd…*sigh*

I have to share my craziest hairdo. This happened 5 years ago in high school. My friend who sits behind me in class was a little (though little may be an understatement) bored. She had a ton of bobby pins and a plush toy cow. She first started pulling my hair back. Bobby pin here. Bobby pin there. Until it was a nice bun, but she wasn’t done yet. She then took her little cow and pinned it on top of my bun. Now it was the end of class, and I had a cow at the back of my head. This was my first class, and I’m a very reserved girl, but that day I left my hair as my friend had made it for the rest of the day. I got a lot of strange looks, but that day, I just didn’t care. 😀 Probably the most spontaneous thing I’ve ever had done. It was a pain removing everything at the end of the day though.
my favorite thing this time of year has got to be drinking tea! and lots of it! chamomile, earl grey, peppermint, green, black, white, and the awesome candycane tea from trader joe’s! you need to get some karen!!! (if you haven’t already of course;)

Last night was the company christmas party, so I did a dramatic matte red lip paired with a super shimmery lid and dark smokey purple crease. For me, that’s pretty dramatic!
Five things I find myself doing a lot this time of year:
(1) Applying extra lotion to my hands.
(2) Using a thicker day cream on my face, instead of regular moisturizer.
(3) Listening to Christmas music.
(4) Bundling up in layers and blankets.
(5) Shopping!
My favorite holiday tradition is eating holiday food. Cookies, candy, dinner on Christmas day! It’s a great season.
Last time I did something dramatic with my hair? Last night! After 4 months without a haircut, my hair sylist chopped a good 3-4 inches off of my hair and gave it a lovely auburn-ish color. I feel like a different person!

Dramatic makeup…hm…I actually tried a very vibrant mint green/smoky eye combination yesterday. It happened purely by accident and I found that I just kept adding and adding more product. I definitely had to wear neutral lip and cheek products to offset it!

This is not really a tradition per se (I guess it can be considered one as we do it every year..) but I love pulling out ornaments and decorating the Christmas tree.

5 things I find myself doing a lot this time of year:
1. moisturizing: I seem to slather myself down in oils and creams and cream oils about every 15 minutes but no matter how much I moisturize, my skin always gets itchy again from being so dry. Not fun!
2. procrastinating: I am the biggest procrastinator and ALWAYS wait until the week before Christmas to start shopping. Big mistake…which leads me to #3
3. stressing: I begin stressing bad after procrastinating on my shopping. It’s a vicious cycle…
4. putting lip balm on: again, my body doesn’t seem to cope well in cold, dry weather and my lips always get so shriveled and flaky
5. baking: pies, muffins, bread, cakes, cookies-you name it, I bake it during the winter season!

I am so happy today!!!! My hub had open heart surgery on Wednesday and when I saw him today he looked amazing!! We went for a walk around the halls of the cardiac floor with our son. It was so great to see him looking so healthy (tubes and all). This will definitely be a Merry Christmas <3<3

My New Year’s resolution is to be more environmentally conscious by making less frivolous purchases and making sure the beauty products I buy are recyclable.
I get so so so excited about Christmas. 🙂 After decorating the whole house, I put lights up everywhere (I lovelovelove the sparkles!), even in my bedroom. Then I have a bunch of bake-a-thons where I bake all these Christmas things. And I get together with my friends for a mini Christmas party where we make gingerbread houses and homemade snowglobes. 🙂 So yeah, I guess you could say Christmas is my favorite time of year and I’m sort of obsessed with it…. 😉
Hmmmm…dramatic hair changes….well, I went from an A-line bob, super-short in the back and chin length in the front, to much longer all over. It’s about 3 inches below my shoulders now. I haven’t had hair this long since college! I just wanted the chance to pull it up and try some new things with it. I’ll probably grow tired of it by next summer (HOT here in Florida!) and cut it short again!

One Christmas tradition that we have in our family is that we make tamales a few days before Christmas. My mom then serves the tamales and other dishes at her house on Christmas Day.

The last drastic thing I did was to my hair. I decided to dye it red from blonde. It was the best decision I made. The color goes well with my complexion and eye color. I absolutely love it and get so many compliments on it.

My favorite Christmas tradition is attending Midnight Mass (Misa de Gallo) with my family during Christmas Eve and then celebrating with a late night dinner (Noche Buena) where rice, ham, fried chicken, pork egg rolls, lomein noodles (pancit) and rice-cakes (kakanin) are served. To cap the night, we open our presents by the family tree. 🙂

The last time I did something dramatic with my hair and makeup was yesterday, in fact. While some people do useful things like clean when they procrastinate, I use my time to perfect a smoky eye. Came out pretty well too 🙂

I’m thinking I want to try a MUF foundation, but I don’t know if they come pale enough for my freakishly pasty skin.
I did my hair all ringlets two weeks ago that is my favorite style. I use the instyler and it truely holds curl with out hair spray or product. I also used the Mac pigments berry ornament glob red with urbane decay sin and blended for a very christmasy look.
I can’t remember the last time I did something dramatic with my hair or makeup, which is why tomorrow, I’m having a full makeover! I can’t wait…

My holidays start when all the decorations are draged out the day after Thanksgiving. This year we had the tree up 3 days before Thanksgiving. We didn’t decorate it just had the lights lit. We then decorated the whole house. I like lots of lighted things all over the house. Love battery operated candles. I play Christmas music every day. Love to bake cookies with friends. Get together with loved ones & party!

A big part of the holidays is the music for me. Today, my choir performed our winter major work, Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. Next week, my handbell choir is performing a medley of lesser known carols and we also have our carol sing between services. Plus, when I go to our “contemporary” service because the youth ask me to stay and sit with them, we do carols rather than the icky music they normally do. Much easier on the stomach. 🙂

I am so stressed right now between the holidays and a huge project at work…so yeah. Nothing on the nails. And right now I’m thinking about how I need to finish a couple presentations for work and somehow manage to wrap a bunch of presents before Thursday.

My new face eyeshadow color combo is silver with blue. – despite the bad rep blue eyeshadow gets! I recently bought Nars eye duo, Underworld – now all I have to do is control myself from picking up several more of their duo combos! LOL!

My nails are all chipped up and it’s driving me crazy. The did look pretty awesome til they chipped though. I used Color Club’s Ornamint over a black polish.

I tried out a nail stamping set for the first time. I think it came out pretty good!
I know I will be going out all this week! Tomorrow is my b-day so I’ll be dressing up super hawt! Even though I have to work…lol. I also start a new job next week so that’s exciting! I need to do my nails tho..they are due!
Hm. I don’t really have any Christmas traditions. I thought about getting a tree. But I’m worried my cats will knock it over and use the ornaments as playthings. On another note, I don’t have anything on my nails, but I’m thinking of breaking out China Glaze Emerald Sparkles.
