That’s how waking up this morning felt to me — like an explosion. A couple seconds after I opened my eyes, I realized what day it was, and then it hit me: shoot, I have school and a ton of work today.
I’m almost done with The Monday Poll, but I thought I’d say something about the new pink header.
GLAM Media is the company that manages the ads for Tabs and I on the blog. They help pay for my lavish lifestyle here in the luxurious space that is my one bedroom Mill Valley apartment.
The blog is entered in the Beauty Publisher category alongside some really amazing websites.

Cargo Tahiti Palette May Cause Springtime Blues (and Greens)
It’s hella cherry blossom central out here, ladies! I’m talking about the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park. El Hub and I spent a couple hours there yesterday. I really needed a little time to relax, so we walked around the gardens, took a billion pictures of blooming cherry blossoms and shared a pot of Jasmine tea. If you’re ever in the area and looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, you could do a lot worse.
Mother Nature was all up in the house! The garden was bursting with pink, magenta, yellow, green and blue. With spring colors on my mind, I dove straight for the Cargo Tahiti Palette ($28) as soon as I got home.
The palette comes with four shimmery shades of royal blue, yellowish green, emerald green and jade. The mere sight of it teleports me back to the tea gardens.

How to Look Your BEST in Pictures
- Don’t do *full frontal!* No, not the nudity kind, LOL! 🙂 Try a 3/4 pose. If you’re standing, turn slightly and rest your weight on one foot. If you’re sitting, angle slightly to one side or the other. Doing so angles the body, tips the shoulders a little and angles the head just a bit. It adds dimension to your pics and looks more interesting and natural than a straight-ahead pose.
- Lean slightly toward the camera. It adds interest, dimension and looks natural, too. Think of having a long neck like a giraffe. Tilt your chin down slightly to hide any double chin/s and to block the camera’s view up your nostrils.
- Learn, like Tyra says, to smile with your eyes. Think coy and demure, like a cougar luring her prey to come closer by acting harmless and innocent. Huge ear-to-ear smiles focus attention on your gums and can make you look like you’re squinting.
- Think BAM! Practice a picture pose trigger. Models are taught to change their state of mind in an instant by developing a trigger. When they’re about to have their picture taken, even if they feel like crap, they fire their trigger and BAM! — great photo. One trigger you hear a lot about is called the rear cheek squeeze.
Don’t laugh, but it’s just like it sounds — you squeeze the cheeks of your rear end together and hold them that way for the shot. 🙂 Try it in your next picture. - Keep looking up! That is, don’t look directly at the lens; look slightly above it. It brightens the eyes in pictures and makes you look more vibrant and alive.

Girls want to get with him, and guys want to hang with him. I just think he’s *hawt*. I remember writing “I love Johnny Depp” and “Mrs. Karen Depp” in block letters all over my Pee-Chee folders in eighth grade. C’mon, confess! You totally had/have a Johnny crush!
