If you’re bossy and you know it, shout hooray.
HOO-RAY! 😀
How cute is this palette? The cover takes me back to my stiletto wearing days! The palette ($25) and hot pink liquid lippie ($25) are by a small indie line from the SF Bay Area called Bossy Cosmetics. Both hail from Bossy’s Power Woman Essentials collection.

My spider sense gets tingly Urban Decay vibes from the palette! The shadows are a lot like UD’s — soft texture, highly pigmented, with a teeny bit of fallout. I’ve used the matte brown, matte black and shimmery olive, and those shades blend, well…like a boss. Sorry, I had to go there! 😂
I love the name of the pink lipstick — Bravery. Don’t let the flat matte fool ya either. It isn’t one of those lipsticks that splits into cracks as the day goes on. It moves with me as I smile and sing, and it feels relatively moisturizing as far as liquid matte lipsticks go. Oh, and it’s unscented and unflavored, just in case you were wondering!

This dynamic duo has been my go-to blush lately…

I swipe the Chanel cream blush in No. 20 on my cheeks, blend out the edges with my fingers, then set it with Laura Mercier Ginger blush.
I like how natural it looks!

Makeup worn in this look
- BASE: Avene Solaire UV Tinted SPF 50
- EYES: Bossy Cosmetics Power Woman Essentials Eye Shadow, Laura Mercier Caviar Mascara, Boy de Chanel Eyebrow Pencil in Deep Brown, MAC Teddy liner, Hourglass Retouching Fluid in Sand
- CHEEKS: Chanel Blush No. 20, Laura Mercier Ginger
- LIPS: Bossy Cosmetics Bravery
Speaking of bravery…if you have any extra courage to virtually relay my way, could you please send it on over? I could use a boost! Got big things to conquer in the next few months, with one of the biggest things being sending Connor to kindergarten next month…
I knew this time was just around the corner, but why did it have to come so soon??
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Beautiful look, everytime I see your picture I am loving your “natural” hair more and more. So elegant!
Aww, thank you Lauren! How is your day going? I hope everything on your end of the keyboard is OK.
I love every product in this post!! It’s the perfect color palette!! It matches my birthday mood. Today I turn 50 so I’m feeling VERY Sally O’Malley. I’ve been walking around the office kicking, stretching, and KICKING, scaring the other law clerks because they now realize that I’m old enough to be their mom (or grandmom)! LOL….
And, Karen, YOU GOT THIS. We’re behind you 100%!
Happy, happy birthday Christine! I hope you have a WONDERFUl birthday and that your 50th year is one for the books!
Thank you, Karen! xoxo
Happy Birthday !!!! I’m 51. I don’t know you but if you’re channeling Sally O’Malley, I think you’re going to love the 50’s!!!
Thank you, Jennifer! =0) Where’s my red camel toe pantsuit???
Hahaha, eBay perhaps?
These are lovely shadows. I have a lot of advice about kindergarten. It was 12 years ago for me but lemme tell you it’s a whole different ball game.
I’ll try to remember to send you the most important stuff to know.
I’ll take that advice, girlfriend!
Oh that Bravery lipstick looks so insanely good on you!! 😮😍 And, as someone else mentioned, I love the greys. You look fantastic.
Thank you, Miki! I’m learning to love them. 🙂
I hope you’re having a great week so far. Got any plans yet for the weekend?
Unfortunately yes, LOL, we will be moving my Grandma into a home.
I forgot to mention, I’m also putting my daughter in Kindergarten this year. Crazy how time flies!
We had to do that recently with my grandma too. It’s emotional, I know.
When does your daughter start school? I have two weeks with her all to myself in the first half August and then she’s officially a big kid!
That Bravery lipstick is really pretty! I’ve been wearing MAC pink poodle lately (discontinued but a lot like Good Taste in their permanent lineup) with Buxom pink gloss on top. And LM tinted moisturizer with LM peach blush.
I’m late to the party today but as the others have said…you’ll both do great with Kindergarten, have no fear!! One great thing I liked about it is depending on the teacher and school system, you can probably volunteer in the classroom. And they often let you bring treats on Fridays or for birthdays, etc. through 4th or 5th grade. It’ll all be worth it to see your girl grow and shine!
Karen!
First, here is some bravery! : ). Seriously, though, look what you have accomplished with this blog and community, with your daughter, with your life. YOU. GOT. THIS.
Second, talk to me about how that lipstick applies, please! I love a good bold matte lip and that looks gorgeous…but I’m kind of a disaster when liquid lipstick is too liquidy, if you know what I mean?! Thx!
Hoo-ray!!!
And some bravery – it will be fine and she will love it. Both my kids do/ did.
I can’t believe she’s going to kindergarten!
