Hiya, and happy Tuesday! The recent enthusiasm for lipstick around these parts continues. I finally gave in and bought a tube of Ilia Color Block Lipstick in a warm pink called Rococco when I was allegedly “causally browsing” at Sephora last weekend. I also grabbed a tube of Ilia Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil in Tahiti along with a bottle of Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Strengthening Treatment Oil.

I came *this close* to picking up a tube of JVN Complete Air Dry Cream from the new hair line by stylist/cat lady extraordinaire Jonathan Van Ness, but after squeezing a little out of the tube and working it into my ends, I just couldn’t handle the intensity of the floral scent.
Fun fact: the company that makes JVN is called Amyris, Inc.; they also make Biossance, Pipette and the new makeup line by Rosie Huntington-Whitley.
One of the sales associates mentioned that the Sephora VIB sales starts soon, so I’m making a list. Here’s what I have on it so far:
- The INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm — I’ve been wanting to try this for a while. I’m intrigued by the thought of a soothing oat balm in the double cleanse process.
- Kate Somerville Anti Bac Acne Clearing Lotion — My ride or die to keep pimples at bay, always and forever.
- Stila Smudge Stick in Damsel — A recommendation from Christine in the comments (hi, friend!).
- Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Foundation — You know I love me some tinted sunscreen.
- Topicals Faded Serum for Dark Spots & Discoloration — This gel serum with tranexamic acid, niacinamide and azelaic acid gets a lot of hype. It’s currently sold out so I’m hoping Sephora restocks it soon.
- Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask — I’m also grabbing a few jars of this to give as stocking stuffers to the ladies in my life.
Are you planning to shop the sale? Drop me your wish list in the comments. I’d love to see it!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I hope you get the Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm. I have been using it for a while, since Mad about Skin raved about it. I cannot decide if I really love it or not, because I cannot see that it has made a difference, and lately, my skin feels oiler after I cleanse. I use it as the second step in a double cleanse. It is thick, and some people have said it is like putting vaseline on your face, so I am anxious to see what you think of it.
Oh, boy. I wonder if I’ll like it! I enjoy the slip from oil-based cleansers so we shall see. That’s assuming I’ll be able to buy it. I haven’t done the Sephora sale in a while because usually what I want is sold out!
I really love the Oat Cleansing Balm, but use it as first step. It is great on my acne prone skin and leaves it hydrated, but not oily.
There is no effect in that I see changes in my skin, but my skin feels less irritated with my Tretinoin in winter.
I love the look of those suspensions. I’m a sucker for pretty colors floating in clear gel. 🙂 I hope you love all your new picks. Now I’ll have to start thinking about VIB, too!
I have a feeling you’re going to at least get a tube of Faux Cils!
HAHA! Yes, of course. 🙂 And an Anastasia brow pencil. Maybe I’ll find an exciting skincare product. Fingers crossed!
I mean, one day you’ll buy that orange lipstick. I still believe.
I may try the briogio!!! It looks like the whole line may be good.
I’m not in love with those Laneige lip masks. I bought one and got a trial size of another flavor, thinking it was the smell that was bothering me. I think Tatcha’s lip mask, I forget its formal title, is much better for my lips than the Laneige.
I don’t think I’ve ever tried a lip oil. At least I can’t remember ever trying one.
So far on my list is the Clinique eye liner you mentioned a bit ago. I want a new lipstick. And I don’t know what else.
I want a review of that Briogeo oil. I’ve used their shampoo, conditioner and mask and been pretty happy. But my hair is really thinning and it’s starting to get to be too much for me know.
I love the Laneige lip masks! I bought the set with all the minis in different flavours and the full size in Gingerbread and Gummi Bear. The Ilia foundation is on my list too along with Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave–In Defining Cream.
I only get 10% off at Sephora but I have a $20 off $100 coupon at Ulta plus $125 of points, so I’ll get things that I can get at Ulta there. I’m trying to find some good hair products for my irritated scalp. Shampoos aren’t too hard to find fragrance free and non irritating but conditioners are harder for me. I tried stuff by the SEEN brand and they seem pretty good – I’ll try the full sizes. I need a new Clinique eyeliner, and I need a new face sunscreen since Vanicream reformulated (ARGH). Oh, and I need brow stuff. I just opened a new mascara though.
Hi!
Try the I key list oat cleansing balm, I have very intolerant skin with rosacea and this has been a game changer for me. So gentle yet removes makeup and debris very well. I say give it a try and see how you feel about it.
Thank you for the heads up on the Sephora VIB sale I wasn’t aware of it coming up but makes sense when I think about it because November already. Wow time flies.

I’m curious about the JVN Air Dry Cream but now am not sure now given what you said about the scent since I have to order online.
I’ve had stuff sitting in my Sephora basket for weeks so I can just enter the code and pull the trigger Friday: Urban Decay x Marvel Eternals Cosmic Eternal (shimmery blue) and Cosmic Mission (shimmery purple) eyeliners (both online exclusives), a travel-size Maison Margiela Jazz Club cologne, and Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks in Pillow Talk Medium and Intense, Wedding Belles, and First Dance.
The Ilia Serum Foundation with spf 40 is my HG product. It provides light coverage with a dewy (not shiny) finish and they even have a shade light enough for my super pale skin. It also doesn’t break me out which 90% of anything I put on my face does.
