The New NARS Adult Content Blush Palette Is Rated Rawwwrr!

Uh…I don’t know why (ok, well, maybe I do), but the name of this palette makes me laugh. 🙂

Because really, if it contained “adult content,” you’d probably find things like bills, lame bowls for “portion control” (man, I sure miss my 19-year-old metabolism!) and, like, an hour-long commute in gridlocked traffic (both ways).

Anywho, the name’s cheeky.

Get it? Cheeky? Blush?

Ha! I made myself laugh!

This new powder blush palette arrives in stores, NARS boutiques and online September 1.

NARS stocked it with Zen (a natural beige), Miss Liberty (a soft, shimmering peach), Deep Throat (a flirty, sheer peach) and Desire (a cotton candy pink).

All I have to say is STOKED! This one’s a stunner.

Chanel’s Smooth Nude Icone Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour

Chanel Icone Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour

It’s not easy to find a smooth nude lipstick, but Chanel’s new Icone Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour ($34) is exactly that.

This golden beige makes for a killer nude lip… I can totally see Angelina Jolie wearing it with a cat eye.

Sometimes I top it off with MAC’s Big Baby Plushglass, which adds a hint of pink, or MAC Nice Buzz, which makes it look even more golden.

I think it’s perfection worn alone or with a gloss.

Icone lives in Chanel’s permanent line on counters and online. 🙂

Sephora + Pantone Universe Spectral Lacquer in Waterfall

There’s a waterfall of holographic shimmer at the heart of the Sephora + Pantone Universe!

It’s called Waterfall.

Just Waterfall. And it was released earlier this summer at Sephora along with two other Spectral Lacquer holographic nail polishes.

It shifts between purple and blue in the light, and the holographic effect’s pretty visible, too, which I like. If you’re going to wear a holographic nail polish, might as well be able to see the colors change, right?

I’m wearing two coats here…

Doesn’t Maybelline’s Color Show Polka Dots Nail Polish in Blue Marks the Spot remind you of speckled robin eggs?

I’m getting that vibe.

This one seems to have more of the smaller hexagonal bits of glitter than do Dotty and Drops of Jade.

I’m wearing two coats here.

Ok, so, I know this is technically a summer release, but I’m getting a strong Halloween vibe from Maybelline’s Color Show Polka Dots Nail Polish in Dotty ($3.99).

All we need now is a jack-o-lantern, a bag of Peanut M&Ms and a boom box looping The Monster Mash in the yard.

Dotty is one of five new Polka Dots Polishes dotting drugstore shelves, Ulta aisles and the Intertubes online.

Maybelline Drops of Jade Color Show Polka Dots Nail Polish

Maybelline Drops of Jade Swatch — Maybelline Drops of Jade Color Show Polka Dots Nail Polish, $3.99 (two layers)

I keep wanting to call this nail polish “Drops of Jupiter,” like the song by Train.

Remember that one? For a while there in the early 2000s it was playing every other second on the radio, LOL!

I still love it, too.

I’m wearing two layers of Drops of Jade here, one of five new Polka Dots Nail Polishes from Maybelline, and I can really see the jade jelly base and the different sized flecks of hexagonal glitter.

The sheer, thick formula dries to matte finish with a base of non-streaky color. I think it’s actually pretty easy to apply as far as glitter polishes go…

Only thing is, if you like crisp edges, they’re kind of a challenge to achieve with the included brush. I usually do my edges freehand, but the fibers splay out, making the polish tough to control. You might need to dip a pointy brush into some nail polish remover and run it along the base of your nails to clean up the edges.

You know what I like? I like how whenever the pretty boy/Arthur Fonzerelli character in cartoons flashes a big toothy smile, there’s that “bling!” sound.

P.S. Just got home a couple hours ago from La Jolla, and wouldn’t you know it? Tabs barely paid me any mind. I walked in the door, and he was like, “I’m over it, woman.” He had El Hub to keep him company, so he wasn’t as hard up for lovies as he gets when we’re both gone.
