A delicious ice cream-like banana frosty from Banana Joe’s Fruit Stand on the North Shore. To make ’em, they put frozen bananas through a Champion Juicer, and the result’s a fluffy treat that tastes just like ice cream, except that it’s made from 100 percent bananas. YUM!

The reef triggerfish, or humuhumunukunukuāpuaÊ»a, is Hawaii’s state fish.

What a cutie, isn’t it?

Greetings from Kauai! We haven’t done much yet, but it isn’t raining, yay! We checked in to the hotel and had lunch at a local place called Cafe Coco (a vegetarian’s dream come true!) while watching chameleons, wild chickens and stray cats frolic in the sun.

Now, a quick dip in the pool before sunset. See you soon!
