I’ve been needing a new desk for a while now. I found this white one on Overstock (it also comes in red and black); it’s a knock off of West Elm’s Parsons Desk ($300).

This finish isn’t as glossy as West Elm’s, but it doesn’t wiggle (yay) and costs half the price.

Start by cooking two cups of pasta until al dente. Throw into a strainer and run cold water to cool.

Next, chop…

Cherry tomatoes
Spinach
Basil
Fresh mozzarella
Salami (optional)

Whisk together…

3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Throw it all into a bowl with the pasta; mix thoroughly.

Serve with hummus and chips for a quick, yummy lunch.

Regaining my sanity is now only 3,546 boxes away.

Yesterday I went trail running through the Indian Valley Open Space Preserve in Novato. It was tough going up a few of the hills, but the views made it worth the effort.

Earlier today I went to downtown San Rafael to grab lunch. Kids were trick or treating at the stores on Fourth Street. It blows my mind that kids trick or treat at malls in the middle of the day; all my Halloween memories are of trick or treating with my dad at night around our neighborhood.

This weekend’s mission: rectify the box situation in the kitchen.
