Gwen Stefani: Her Best Hair?

One of my favorite bands, No Doubt, is reuniting next month and going on tour, haay!

I’ve always loved their distinctive ska/punk/new wave sound.

I associate certain periods in my life with different No Doubt records… Rock Steady, for example, saw me through some serious early-20s growing pains!

But I like more than just their music. I’ve always admired Gwen Stefani’s sassy style.

Born Gwen Renee Stefani on October 3, 1969 in Anaheim, Cali, Gwen has never been afraid to take risks when it comes to her wardrobe or her hair — blonde, blue and sometimes pink. I have no doubt (ha!) she’ll always keep us guessing when it comes to her coif.

Re-Introducing Curly Sexy Hair!

It’s really amazing how far curly hair shampoos, conditioners and styling products have come. During the ’80s products specifically designed for curly hair were scarce. We had L’Oreal Pumping Curls (a spray curl enhancer) and that was IT. Those were some rough years, and I have the bad pictures to prove it!

Fast forward to 2009: now there are entire lines of hair care products for curly hair. 🙂

This week I started testing cleansing, conditioning and styling products from the newly revamped Curly Sexy Hair line. Have you tried these yet?

The Curly Sexy Hair line’s been around for a few years, but I just never got around to trying their stuff until now. The company folks say the new products feature a more moisturizing formula than before — perfect, since my hair’s always dry and thirsty.

Isn’t fate amazing? If Johnny Depp hadn’t turned down the lead role of John Smith in the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Brad Pitt (born William Bradley Pitt on December 16, 1963) and Angelina Jolie might’ve never merged forces to become the all-powerful entity that is BRANGELINA!

I think Brad’s gorgeous even when he sports the long locks (not my favorite look on him).

Girls want to get with him, and guys want to hang with him. I just think he’s *hawt*. I remember writing “I love Johnny Depp” and “Mrs. Karen Depp” in block letters all over my Pee-Chee folders in eighth grade. C’mon, confess! You totally had/have a Johnny crush!

I usually change my hair color a couple times a year, especially when it warms up outside. That’s when I’ll go lighter. I’m thinking about caramel highlights for spring! How about you?

I have to admit… There’s another reason why I’m itching for highlights.

I’m dying to try Redken’s new Color Extend line (more on that in a few), and I really want to see if lighter hair makes me look a little younger.

In my teens and 20s, people would always say I looked young for my age, but I feel like I’ve aged a TON in the past few years. Sometimes I look in the mirror and can’t believe all the business that just keeps popping up — a wrinkle here, a white eyebrow hair there — lovely.

I know I can’t stop the clock, but I wouldn’t mind slowing it down, LOL!

Ahh, such sage words from Stacy Ann Ferguson (born March 27, 1975)!

Rockin’ it out since Kids Incorporated, Fergie has always kept busy. She’d been a cheerleader, a straight-A student, a spelling bee champion, a Girl Scout, a pop music sensation (remember Wild Orchid?) and a TV star years before hitting it REALLY big as a vocalist for the Black Eyed Peas.

Fergie Ferg generally likes long locks, but she’ll switch up the color now and then and throw in the occasional tiara to keep her look fresh. Last Thursday she was seen sporting the long and straight brunette look in Picture 1, but next week she could be back to pony tails or curls! 🙂
