Back in my dating days, one thing I’d do without fail when I first started seeing a guy was snoop around his bathroom and medicine cabinet… on the down low.

Like Marc Anthony, I felt I *needed to know* about hidden dentures or preserved body parts in jars.

To my eternal relief, I never found anything scary, just mostly run-of-the-mill, boring dude stuff like deodorant, razors and whatnot.

I’ve been out of the loop for a while now, but with more men paying attention to skin and hair care than ever before, dating women face a new breed of conundrum.

Legions of single ladies are out there snooping medicine cabinets across this great land, and many of them are finding shelves filled with beauty products previously reserved for us, like toners, eye creams and leave-in conditioner.

I’m all in favor of well-groomed guys, but how would you feel about dating a man who owns more beauty products than you do?

1. Mood:

Wow, I think I may have actually gotten enough sleep. It’s a whole new world!

2. What was your last purchase?

I treated El Hub to an Orange Dream Machine Jamba Juice yesterday and got myself a Blackberry Bliss — have you tried? They’re pretty new and sooo good!

3. Your favorite loose or pressed powder?

Right now it’s MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. I love that it doesn’t look heavy or obvious on my skin.

4. Emo guys — hawt or not?

Not really my cup of tea but it depends. It would take a hellavu great personality to make up for uncomfortably tight boy jeans, product-laden hair and guy liner.

5. Eyes/lips/cheeks:

Nothing yet, but I’m thinking Too Faced Natural Eye Kit on my eyes; not sure about my cheeks or lips yet.

6. Biggest pet peeve?

When people (ahem, El Hub!) use the last of the toilet paper without replacing it with a fresh roll! Drives me BONKERS.

7. What was your last text message?

“Send my love; we’re at some random water park.”

8. Your next trip?

Vegas, baby, in October!

9. Outfit:

I’m still in my jammies — a pair of white shorts and a Makeup and Beauty Blog t-shirt.

10. Weekly goals:

Remember to focus on the positive, exercise at LEAST twice, lay off the cookies (so hard!), and remember to have a little fun every single day.

I’ve kinda been feeling like hamster in a wheel, like I’ve been going through the motions, doing the same things over and over again. Do ever feel that way, like you’re stuck in a rut?

Saturday shenanigans?

G’morning and happy Saturday to ya. 🙂

I feel like I’ve been up since the dawn… of time. I set the alarm for 6:30 because I’m still trying to turn myself into a morning person. Depending on how much caffeine I’ve consumed prior to any given moment, it’s hard to tell how well the experiment’s working.

What are you up to today? No plans for me except for some puttering around, maybe laundry, maybe reading the September issue of Marie Claire and playing around with Obviously Orange Technakohl liner.

Any ideas for ways to wear an orange eyeliner? I’m stumped.
