Over the weekend I watched a bunch of back episodes of the TV show Dollhouse on Hulu. One of the actors, Tahmoh Penikett (he used to play Helo on Battlestar Galactica), plays this arse-kicking FBI agent who looks unbelievably sharp in a suit, but the scenes I really, REALLY appreciate are the ones where he’s shirtless. Really!

3. Outfit:

Dark skinny jeans, green button down Hawaiian shirt, black Aerosoles sandals

4. Hair:

Wavy, in pigtails

5. Eyes, cheeks and lips:

It’s a mostly Chanel kinda day: Plein Soleil Quad on the eyes, In Love Powder Blush layered on top of Nars the Multiple in Orgasm on the cheeks, Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel on the upper cheek bones and Chanel Monte Carlo and Candy Glow on lips.

6. Favorite lipgloss?

I can’t stay true to just one! This week it’s Chanel Aqualumiere in Candy Glow.

7. Favorite mascara?

Stila Lash Visor for waterproof mascara and Chanel Exceptionnel for regular

8. Favorite foundation?

DuWop Foundation of Youth

9. What are your plans for lunch today?

I’m always running late for class, so I was thinking about just heating up a chicken fettuccine Lean Cuisine before I run out the door. Totally lame, I know.

10. Weekly goals:

Revamp my running music list, keep up with my regular work, organize my eyeshadows and blushes because I have a tendency to store things in disorganized piles, cook dinner at home a few more times than usual (been eating out too much lately) and remember to enjoy the small victories. 🙂

What the heck happened to last weekend? POOF! And then it was gone…

TGIF, gals! Sorry I’m a little hella behind with blogging today, but it was one of those days where every little thing took longer than usual. Don’t you hate it when that happens?

So, about last night! — thanks for helping me figure out my lipstick for the Saks Fifth Avenue event! I ended up wearing a mix (yup, a mix) of Chanel’s Porto Rotondo and Lipari Aqualumiere.

I gotta give it up to the 30-something girls who can still party like rocks stars on school nights because I sure can’t. One of my BFF’s, C-Money, was my plus one for the evening, and after the show we went out for a late dinner. By the time I got home it was almost midnight, and I was totally wiped out (I’m usually asleep by then!).

That’s one of my BFF’s, C-Money. We’ve been friends for over 20 years!

Needless to say, I can’t come-on-shake-shake-it like I did in my 20s. To all Thursday night partiers everywhere — PROPS!

Anyhoo, last night’s Saks fashion event was pretty fun. It was a mini-spring show hosted by the bodacious blogging babes over at Fab Sugar.

They had the models stand on little blocks instead of a runway, and then the spectators walked around checking out the clothes, drinking (free cocktails) and not-so-quietly rocking out to a killer ’80s music mix.

I liked that you could get so close to the clothes. I love big, glitzy runway shows, but sometimes when you really want to see the clothes there’s someone with big hair sitting in front of you.

I was hoping to win a Marc Jacobs purse they gave away in a raffle, but no such luck. I pray it went to a good home…

Saks puts on mini-fashion events like this one every so often. You can find out about upcoming local events on the Saks Fifth Avenue website.

The whole time I was at the show I was surrounded by expensive spring purses and shoes. Dude, it was totally like teasing a dog with bacon. Even though everything was out of my price range, it was still a lot of fun to window shop.

The purses were all about color, like the violet Marc by Marc Jacobs purse ($500) shown up top.

And yellow was in the house. I couldn’t stop drooling over the Morning After Mini purse by Rebecca Minkoff ($550). Toting it around would be like having a little slice of sunshine on your arm.

Check out the gold hardware detailing on the side. Ohmigosh, SO CUTE!

There were plenty of rich blues and teals, too, like this patent leather Picador slingback heel by Christian Louboutin ($625).

Good morning, glories! Rise and shine.

Is it just me or did March skip us entirely? Next thing you know it’ll be summer.

Before we get too far into April, I thought I’d glance back at March one last time. It was a BIG one for beauty, and here were a few of my favorite posts. 🙂

1. MAC Hello Kitty Makeup Tutorial: Spring has Sprung!

I tried to change my outlook yesterday with flowers, looking online for spring bouquets. I thought about this freesia and rose bouquet by Martha Stuart but chickened out at the last second.

Instead, I reached for similar colors — peach, green and pink — and tried to use them in a spring-inspired makeup look.

2. Sally Hansen Diamond 12-Hour Lip Treatment: Drugstore Lipgloss Therapy

These glosses are like non-stick, vanilla-scented (but no taste) drugstore versions of MAC Lipglass. Each tube packs may-jah color and shine, delivering added moisture as well, and they last for hours on my lips without budging one bit.

Straight and stinky, LOL! I need to bust out some Naturia Dry Shampoo to make this blowout last a few more days.

3. Best part of your weekend?

Spending a couple hours on Saturday hanging out in Golden Gate Park. I’ve been a workaholic lately (it’s a phase), and it was nice to veg and let my mind wander… just relax.

4. Eyes:

Nars Hula Hula Eyeshadow Duo. It’s a Nars kinda day!

5. Lips:

Nars Shrinagar Lipstick and Sweet Revenge Lipgloss

6. Cheeks:

Nars Multiple Duo in Orgasm/South Beach (Side note: These dual cream blush compacts are so AWESOME! I started with the Portofino/Malibu Duo and moved to Orgasm/South Beach from there.)

7. Favorite eye cream and why?

I don’t have a favorite right now, and I’m still looking for one. I’ve been using MAC Moisturelush Eye Cream, but it hasn’t seemed moisturizing enough lately.

8. Are you a chocolate person?

YES!

9. Prom date?

LOL, Tommy T.! He sat next to me in French class and was a really good friend. I wonder what happened to him…

10. Weekly goals:

Make it to class on time, blog like a maniac, eat tons o’ fruit, drink water throughout the day, clean up my work space and stay relaxed and calm.
