I am the first person to admit that I am very color-shy when it comes to makeup, so when MAC’s C Shock came out I wasn’t too into it. Although I really still can’t see these colors on myself, I am going to officially change my tune. I went to the website today and saw these superhot pics of Eve rockin’ the C Shock collection. Surprisingly, my fave looks were the ones with bright green and blue eyeshadow, lol. Love it!

Product Review – MAC Sheer Mystery Powder

Product: MAC Sheer Mystery Powder in Dark
Use: As a face powder.
Price: $45.00 for a compact; also includes an additional refill
Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+
I got this during my Holiday 2006 MAC frenzy. I haven’t been able to use it until now because the “Dark” shade was too dark for my non-tanned skin color. Now that I’ve got a lil’ bit of color it’s the perfect shade for tanned skin.
I’m not going to lie — it hurt me to pay the $45.00 for this. I may be a cheapo but I’m also a sucker for powder. I figured with the refill (which is included) it would be like buying two powders for about $22.00, which is the normal amount I’d pay for a high-end department store powder. [Continue reading…]

Brown Skin Is Beautiful Skin

Two weeks ago I watched an Oprah episode titled “Children Ashamed of the Way They Look,” which also launched a new campaign to promote self-esteem for younger girls, O Girl, O Beautiful.
Oprah’s guests — celebs and a few regular people — talked about their experiences with beauty and self-esteem within their various cultures.
The story of two of the guests, Tangela and her son Najee, resonated with me, and here’s a copy from the Oprah Website:[Continue reading…]

Why I bought it
My birthday is right around the corner and all I have to say is 25 was a looooooong time ago, ya’ll. I don’t know if the upcoming birthday is the catalyst for all of these anti-aging products that I’ve been using as of late, but hey, it never hurts to get a head start, right?
I’ve been using different AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) products, and although I’ve been mostly happy with the results, I thought I’d try something new with BHA (beta hydroxy acid) product, which is why I picked up this jar of Olay Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream Beta Hydroxy face moisturizer.
What it’s supposed to do
Olay Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream is for normal, dry, oily or combination skin. This oil-free face and neck cream is supposed to significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and lift away dull, dry skin. The beta hydroxy acid, salicylic acid, is the fourth ingredient listed. [Continue reading…]
