I’ve never met a Chanel Ombre Premiere cream shadow I didn’t like…until now.
Le sigh.
Urban is a blackened navy blue sheen in the Chanel Travel Diary collection, and it isn’t my favorite thing in the launch.
I’ve loved pretty much everything else from the collection so far (it’s been my favorite Chanel fall collection in years), but for me this cream shadow falls short.
It feels drier than the other cream shadow in the launch, Memory (WHICH IS BOMB!), so when I smooth it across my lids, it catches some spots and skips over others. Unlike all of the other Ombre Premieres I have, wear and love, this one is the hardest to blend.
It’s Patchy City, so I’d drive by this one this year.

Speaking of the Ombre Premiers, my friend Jane (hi, Jane!) recommended one called Undertone, and ever since I swatched it last week at Nordstrom, I haven’t been able to get it outta my head.
Have you seen it? It’s a warm golden brown with the slightest sheen, and it’s abso-friggin-lutely gorgeous! TOTAL everyday staple shade. I was in a hurry, and the counter was super busy, so I walked away without it last week, but I’m plotting to go back and get it, along with a stick of 88 Noir Intense eyeliner. 🙂

Hi Karen! I have been using Joues Contraste in Jersey last couple of months. What a great color! Noir Intense eyeliner is my everyday staple but I know we share that infatuation.
88 Noir is the best black liner. 🙂 The Joues Contrastes are lovely; Malice is my fave!
I wonder if you got a bad one, Karen? Urban (and the blue Road Movie quad) were my fave items from the fall collection and I didn’t find mine patchy at all. 🙁
I *do* apply it with the little brush they send with the pots, though, not a brush from my own collection.
I tried it with the little brush too and it wasn’t any better.

I need more lipsticks like I need a hole in the head but I’d like a few from Chanel 😛
Memory looks like my kinda shade! It’s a shame Urban wasn’t that great formula wise because it is such a gorgeous color!

Ah man. I had the exact same experience. After looooving the feel of Pourpre profond and Terre Brulee, I was really surprised when I swatched Urban at a counter. I mean, it felt super dry and it also went on really patchy on my hand. Odd.
As for staples… My bf literally just walked out of a US store with a Joues Contraste in Evening Beige…! I’m still at home, so I was googling like mad trying to see what looked good and didn’t also exist in Europe. When I saw swatches of Evening Beige…I just…couldn’t handle it. 😛
Can’t wait to have it in my hands… Who knows. It might even dethrone Malice!

Yes the Chanel lady did my eyes with Undertone and a neutral quad and they look amazing, I have been wearing it just alone with liner love it

Just got back from vacation and happen to wearing Undertone today with the Espresso liner and Joues Contraste blush in Rose Ecrin today.
I am interested in a new lip color, but will wait and see.
