I can’t wear Charlotte Tilbury Ecstasy blush without thinking of mid-90s club banger Set U Free.
The way the lead singer breathlessly enunciates the word, “ecstasy,” about a billion times…
Welcome to the decade of my formative years.
Anywho…while I like how long this satiny, peachy pink blush stays on my cheeks, the main thing I love about $40 Ecstasy blush is that I can get it on my cheeks in three minutes, which is about how much time I typically have while Coy-Coy uses the potty, so I can walk out the front door looking like I actually slept eight hours and stretched my hamstrings in the morning. (In other words, with a spring in my step!)

Charlotte recommends doing your blush last to best gauge how little or how much you need, and I agree.
So, here’s my Ecstasy three-minute makeup routine:
- Dot Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter all over your face with the wand, and blend it in with fingers.
- Curl lashes and coat them with a layer of Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara.
- Draw a thin line of black liquid liner with Charlotte Tilbury Feline Flick on the upper lash line.
- Dust Film Star Bronze & Glow Bronzer into the crease.
- Coat lips with CT Pillow Talk Lipstick.
- And finally, sweep Ecstasy on those cheekbones!
Don’t you love easy makeup? ? And don’t you also love it when Charlotte refers to blush as “blusher”?! (Or am I the only one?)
Charlotte designed Ecstasy (and this goes for all of her blushes) to be used as part of a two-step process. First, you swish the outer ring on your cheekbones to sculpt and shape, and then blend the brighter center shade on the apples of your cheeks for some color.
Of course…I usually end up swirling both colors together with a blush brush, and that works just fine for me.

Ecstasy has a ring of peach blush with a pop of pink in the middle, and my inner fancy lady lurves it. The blush blends with very little resistance or effort, much like a Clinique Cheek Pop, so it’s easier than easy to apply. I think the petite powder grains help with this. If you want a finely-milled blush, a la Tom Ford, that’s what you’re gonna get.
Very similar to a Chanel Joues Constraste or a Tom Ford blush.
I’ve already put the more intense (and very naughty sounding) shade, The Climax, on my Sephora VIB sale wish list.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Sure, because I need yet another blush, lol. But I have been interested, so I’m glad to hear that it’s a thumbs-up from you.
I just heard about the latest California wildfire. Are you guys okay so far?
Hi Suzanne,
Yes, we are (knock on wood). Thank you for asking. The latest round is north of us, but it’s a reminder that fire season is here.
Arghhhh!! I cannot decide if I want this one or The Climax. What do you think for a NC47???
Hi Nicole,
I haven’t tried the Climax yet, but I think you want to go with the Climax. I think it’ll read better on NC47 skin.
You’re looking lovely, as always! Camels are going to be envious of those lashes!! 🙂 I’d totally swirl the whole pan, too. Complex things like precision and blending are too much for my morning routine. HAHA!
I think you might even like this blush as much as you love Malice! I know, those are fighting words!
It’s a bold claim, Missy! HAHA! I’ll have to give it a whirl if I ever see it in real life. 🙂 Happy Friday!
Karen, what lipstick are you wearing in that photo?
I fully endorse CT’s advice to apply blusher last. When I first started wearing a full face of makeup, I’d apply my foundation and blusher first and then do my eyes and lips. By the time I’d get the color products on my face and get my hair combed out, I’d look at myself and think, “Where’d my blusher go?” I always ended up going back and adding a bit more. Finally I had that proverbial “Aha!” moment and switched to applying my blusher last ? As for that two step blush routine. Remember when Bobby Brown first promoted that? But with her interpretation of the concept, you had to buy two products instead of having two-in-one like CT’s. Personally, I can’t be bothered. For me, it is enough to do a highlighter and then a blusher.
BTW, CT calling her cheek product blusher is far from unusual. Perhaps it’s my age to blame, but it was always called blusher years and years before it was referred to as simply blush. ?
I think saying “blusher” is the coolest thing! You were hip before it became hip!
I only have the Pillow Talk blusher and swirl it together too! So easy for my non existent blush skills lol I thought that was a no in the order of it but so much lighter/radiant that way for me. Your lashes are amazing Karen!
Thanks, Diana! I owe those lashes to Rodan + Fields Lash Boost!
I was just about to ask what you’re wearing in the photo because you look gorgeous! Glowing, fresh skin. Check. Healthy looking blushed cheeks. Check. And omg those lashes! Is that from the mascara? I could use some length like that.
I have CT blush in Love Glow and I always just swirl together. Don’t have the patience for trying the two separate color trick. Need to check out Ecstasy next time I’m in Sephora. There’s a VIB sale coming up? When?
Hi Tatiana,
I think the lashes are a combo of things. I’ve been using Rodan + Fields Lash Boost now for months… It works, but you have to give it time. I think that’s what mainly doing the heavy lifting. That big curl and lift is from MAC Extended Play Perm Me Up Lash which is EPIC. Doesn’t smudge, and lashes stay curled and lifted.
I’ve worn MAC Extended Play Gigablack. Can’t say I remember it all that well. Have to admit I don’t have a mascara love right now. The Chanel Le Volume waterproof seems to have been extra goopy/clumpy the last two tubes I had, so I’m loathe to buy another tube. I love some of the Japanese waterproofs until it’s time to take them off and I’m standing there soaking my lashes in remover for over a minute. Everything else seems to end up either smudged above my crease (hello extremely hooded eyes) or smudges about an 1/8 to 1/4 inch below my eye. How it gets that far down my face I have no idea. Lol. Off in search of the Rodan + Fields Lash Boost.
Is that Pillow Talk on your lips in the photo? Are you wearing it alone or with something else? I’ve never seen it look quite that red on anyone (and if it’s not Pillow Talk, then I must have that lipstick!)
