“Calgon, take me away…”
I had one of those moments today, but my escort away from drama wasn’t Calgon. It was Bare Escentuals, with their new bareMinerals holiday collection of bright, shimmery colors in kits with names like Things That Make You Glow.
Today was a little challenging. It got off to a good start, but when Tabs found out that I’m heading out of town this weekend, he went ballistic, unleashing a litany of diva demands, all of which he wants met by the time I leave on Friday.
I finished the easy ones — making arrangements for his favorite pet sitter, bringing one of the zinnia plants in the house, programming the Tivo to record Cats 101 — but then it got tough. He also wants an XXL kitty ascot (has to be silk) and a two-day supply of organic, gluten-free, non-GMO gravy.
Yeah, that’s not gonna happen…
All I have to say is thank goodness for makeup. I would have lost my marbles today if it hadn’t been for Things That Make You Glow, Box of Gems and R.S.V.P. — a few of the kits in the big Bare Escentuals bareMinerals holiday collection.

I brought it home and made it for dinner last night. Turned out to be pretty good but not epic (I had it with a cup of TJ’s roasted corn soup). I like that it only required one pan and 10 minutes to prep, though. That part was pretty great. 🙂

These are pretty. I’m going to take a look at these in person. I think in terms of color and the swatches here, Things That Make You Glow appeals to me most.
In reality of what I could and would wear, I want to look at Pashmina Glimmer eyeshadow, After Party eye color and Incandescent eye color.
I’m also going to check out those Buxom lip gloss colors. Lately I’ve been getting away from sparkly glosses for more clear color but…I may change my mind.

I just got Things That Make You Glow in the mail the other day and I can’t wait to play with all of the beautiful colors! I see a lot of potential eye looks, and I’m eager to try the Pretty Amazing Lipcolor. I’m a NW20 with green eyes and copper red hair, so I think almost all of the colors in this box will go really well with my complexion. I am such a fan of BE!

I really like the sparkle in Black Gold (naturally). I can only imagine the hot mess that would result if I tried it though. I’ve got to stick with my clinique cream shaper in black diamond. Pencil over loose powder any day for me! 🙂
