This mascara’s hot pink tube means there’s a 99.999% chance I’ll be able to find Tarte Big Ego Mascara in the black hole that is my makeup bag. (Also, I’m wondering if I’m the only person who secretly wishes that the actual color of this mascara was hot pink to match the packaging. Hmm…)

Two coats of this featherweight formula, which Tarte designed for mega length and volume, sweep my lashes up waaaay past their tips, hoisting them up and out. The curved, slightly hourglass-shaped brush (which is like a mellower version of Too Faced Damn Girl), is surprisingly easy to tuck under the lash base, too.
That said, the part of me that will happily wear bat wing falsies to go buy a loaf of bread at Target demands (politely) more volume…
Final verdict? Great for lengthening and above average for volume…but it could be better at the latter.
Here are my go-to’s, BTW, for big, baddie lashes: Wander Beauty Mile High Club, Chanel Dimensions de Chanel and IT Cosmetics Superhero.
I’d love to hear what are yours.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I never ever use just one mascara. I always combine to get the length and volume I want/need. That being said, I do use this in conjunction with an Essence mascara. The black and purple tubed one. I forget the name.
That Too Faced one was way too big for my measly lashes and I returned it. Plus, I didn’t like the formula in it. It made my lashes feel weird.
Hope you have a great day!
That IT Cosmetics Superhero mascara is my holy grail! It’s the only high-end mascara I’ll spend money on.
Love the length from this mascara! Super pretty.
How easily does this wash off? And how do your lashes feel afterwards? I’m thinking I may need to change up my mascara routine, having used Lancôme’s mascara primer and volume mascara for a few years now and I don’t feel it’s doing much for me anymore. I like the earlier comment to layer as I’ve never done that before. Any tips, Karen?
I actually really like lengthening mascaras most of the time! That´s really all I look for in Mascaras. I´ll have to take a look at this one!

Lately the only mascaras I really love are Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara for a day to day look and Chanel Dimensions Waterproof for going out.
I kinda like Hourglass Caution extreme but I find the tube starts out wetter and gloppier than I like and then quickly goes dryer and clumpier than I like so I rarely ever get 2 to 3 months wear out of a tube before I’m frustrated.
I miss Max Factor 2000 Calories. It was my go-to for volume and curl. Then again the last time it was sold in the U.S. I was much younger and I’m pretty sure I had more lashes back then. My lash line like the hair on my head is thinning rapidly with age.
I’ve tried Damn Girl n Better than Sex, both where great did what it was suppose to, but in Arizona dry heat it immediately started clumping. I was bummed cuz it started out so good. Any suggestions?
Nothing beats YSL Faux Cils for me. My lashes are long and have good curl but they are light in color, so my priority is thickening (pretty much any mascara will make them darker). I’ve tried Hypnose and Hypnose Drama. I don’t like the drama wand and find that both work better for me after they’ve dried out a bit. Brand new from the tube is too thin/liquidy. I like Chanel Le Volume but it doesn’t give me as much volume. I think I’ve tried almost every high end volumizing mascara but I always go back to Faux Cils. And, Karen, I know you know this but thought it might help someone else who has lashes and lash goals similar to mine. 🙂
I love Tarte Mascaras. This one looks really good! I’ll have to try it. Lights Camera Lashes and Gifted are two of my all-time favorites. I also really love Urban Decay Perversion. If there’s a good sale or GWP deal, those are the three I rotate getting. It’s really hard to find mascaras I’m not allergic to, so I’m lucky these work for me and make my lashes look great.
Usually I buy drug store mascara, though, with NYX Worth the Hype being my current favorite. Seriously impressive, and I don’t feel bad that I have to throw it out after three months, because it’s reasonably priced.
